[Q] Some questions... - HTC Sensation

Hello , i'm planning to buy HTC Sensation XE white in 1 month and whant to ask you're opinion.Should i buy it or you recommand other Htc?
1.Installing Rom.I've serch and found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782009 is it good or i need other rom?
-roms are like a firmware that u use it and navigate on it and see it on youre phone.
2.Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562027 good or not?i whant the feature that allows you to unlock it by touch like in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=jri2BMQHHrs
-kernel is the soft that allows the phone to comunicate with the soft, right?
3.Sense???This is only avalible on HTC and it allows you to customize youre phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640467 or other one?
All Htc Seansation rom, kernel, sense works with HTC Sensation XE?
And the most important question how do i do all of this???I've been working with iPhone for the last 2 year jb them and installing iOS,baseband, etc but on Android i have no clue....
When i serch for game i get them from http://apptrackr.cd/ is the an android site like that?
iAP is an cydia resource that allows you buy in game cash or unlock items android has something like that?
How do i root it?Universal root?
What are the combinations to get in the...how u call it....when the phone boot sercret menu that allows you to flash and do other things. What should i replace it with?or is it already included in the rom..or kernel?
So what other things should i know about? And what u recommand me?
Ty and sorry for my bad english.
After serching for more.....
1. Ok so before doing any thing i need to make a Nandroid backup like in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNVW4wMQPpY
The secret menu is called Bootloade do i need to replace with other one?
2. Custom ROM installation:
Download the ROM of your choice. And follow the specific flashing information for that specific ROM. Generally the method is as follows.
a. Download your custom ROM.
b. Check the MD5 checksum of the downloaded file to be 200% sure that your downloaded zip is not damaged.
c. Copy your ROM on the root of your SDCARD.
d. Boot into Recovery.
e. Do a nandroid backup. If anything goes wrong
f. Do a Superwipe.
g. Install your ROM.
h. Install the specific radio if required.
i. Reboot. Wait at leat for 7 to 10 Minutes for firstboot.
j. Enjoy your cutom ROM.
Do i do this even for Kernel and Sensation?
To enter bootloader i do this "Switch off your phone. Pull back the battery. Wait a minute. Put your battery back in the phone. Press POWER+VOLUME – Key together. Wait till the bootloader is ready." ??
3.Bootloader unlock..for custom firmware to work http://myandroidexperiments.blogspot.ro/2012/04/how-to-unlock-boot-loader-for-htc.html

Seems like U r well prepared...for Sensation XE
See I'm trying to solve all ur doubts
1) ROM= Android OS+ UI (User Interface, Like Sense, Touchwiz etc.)
Any ROM is a choice of your Interest, Flash it and stay with it, If you Like stick with it, Otherwise change it..
All ROMs are good, Its just a matter of your Choice...
2) Kernel= A Bridge between your AndroidOS to Your Phone's Hardware..means Kernel manages all the drivers of Video and Audio and all ..
The feature that you are talking about is S2W-Swipe To Wake..To Unlock the Phone,U have to Swipe from Home to Search button...(Majority of the HTC custom kernels support it)
Thanx to XDA devs...
3) Sense Customization...ohhh there is a whole new story...Lots of Customization than your Thoughts,That Thread is Not enough,The Whole new world is there...
Yes All ROMs of HTC Sensation/XE/4G will work for HTC Sensation XE...
Abt Android Apps:: In Apple, I know u need JB, But in Androd u even don't need JailBreak...u'll get 90% of paid apps by Google Search..It will take a time but U'll definitely got them from somewhere..Cracked versions...U'll get all the 3D games free with Data..Its just depend on your Search Query
For Rooting/Custom Recovery/Unlocking bootloader/flashing Firmware, You will be given Lots of tutorials in Very easy manner and u'll get 24x7 help from milions of XDA members
After this phase ROM flash will b there...All ROM will include BusyBox and Super User for handling your SuperUser...
Your Kernel will be flashed at the Time of the ROM installation,But if you wish to change the kernel, u have to flash it in same manner via Recovery..Kernel will flash quickly as it is a small part..
For Flashing the ROM, your Steps are correct..
For Bootloader, U can switch off the cell..No need to pull out battery...Just hold Volume down+Power button continuously...Or If its not working then U have to pull out the Battery..
FYI: Majority of the ROMs have a facility to directly Jump to the Bootloader/Recovery from the Power Menu
Edit:: I haven't seen any Videos nor any URLs which u posted, Cause I'm on my Cell Phone..
Conclusion:: I strongly Not Recommending HTC Sensation XE at this moment, Cause its almost outdated..And Still HTC has not annouce any News about JellyBean upgrade, And Better to jump to One Series,If you can afford One X+, It will be Best Option And One X and One S,Evo 4G are the Best as compare to XE
Abt me:: I'm enjoying My Sensation a lot(Thanks to ViperS ROM), Just because I bought it before 10 months and Now I can't afford any other device, I'm just a Student..But Honestly I wish I can buy HOX
But Happy with What I have

[GUIDE] Flash zip from MicroSD card

Here is a guide that hopefully helps people to flash their device through HBOOT.
1) First you need the RUU. You can find it in several forum threads (I'm sure you'll find it).
2) Start the RUU. Don't let it start flashing your device.
Search your C:\ drive (or where you have Windows installed) for "rom.zip".
Once you found this file, copy it somewhere safe.
3) Rename the rom.zip to PD98IMG.zip and put it on the MicroSD card in your phone.
4) Shut down the phone.
5) Press the Power button + Volume down button at the same time and hold them untill you get to HBOOT (white screen with skateboarding androids).
6) Wait for the HBOOT to parse the zip file.
7) Follow the on-screen instructions.
8) Boot into newly flashed device!!!
ty especially for part 2 didnt know where to find the extracted zip
will do my future updates/reflashs now directly by hboot
I've uploaded the 4 RUUs so far including the test ROM to:
http://mcgh.ee/DHD
Nice. Is any one on t-mobile having the same problem like I am having I know its not major but when I try to get into boot mode I have to press the hole volume button down my friend on t-mobile having the same problem and other people I know with unbranded dhd only have to press the volume button downward ?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Has anyone managed to flash test roms yet??
Th root lot would be very interested if anyones achieved it yet.
Once I can create a gold card and a few bits n bobs im gonna be trying everything possible to help the progress of permanent root solutions...

in settings disable fastboot option for boot up. with that enabled the phone does a quick boot like in netbooks.
you can alternatively press restart on the phone and just keep holding volume down until you enter the bootloader
i have an unbranded dhd
you can not flash the test roms as they are not signed by htc. they leave them unsigned since the original desire
Oh ok thanks I will do that now
HTC All the way .HD2 & DESIRE HD
Most of the time the rom.zip (for Windows Vista & Windows 7) is in C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Temp\[LONG_FILENAME]\rom.zip.
The long filename is different all the time so I suggest searching for rom.zip or *.zip in C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Temp.
In my experience this way of flashing gives the most success (done it in my HTC Diamond time).
BEWARE: Your battery needs to be at least at 50% to flash (if your phone runs out of juice during flashing who knows what will happen).
Do you need goldcard for this ? Or this a straight flash ?
HTC All the way .HD2 & DESIRE HD
If you have non-branded phone then you don't need goldcard.
Mine form t-mobile UK but I don't see any branding from boot screen nore and t-mobile around the housing so me bit puzzled now
HTC All the way .HD2 & DESIRE HD
does this also work fo the OTA Updates?
seems the last update ruined my radio somehow ...
no more WLAN or BT

Hi guys this will be my first post!
I have an Australian vodafone branded DHD, i want to flash it (unbrand it) to original HTC sense ROM because i cannot get the OTA upgrade with voda bloatware on it.
I am downloading the ROM now i suggest it will be the 132 one right?
I am going to unlock (sim lock) my phone tommorrow. Do i need to wait for this to unbrand and flash my device?
What is goldcard? is it on the apps store? how does it work?
Other than that i will follow the guide.
Thanks =)
Anybody please?
how to flash zip and such is the same as Desire, nothing new.
The rom.zip is located in the temp folders.

Just to be safe I would wait and flash your phone after you sim unlocked.
A Gold card is a special SD card which when inserted into your device allows you to flash RUU files with a different CID to your own device.
You cannot find it in app store.
I'm not a pro, so I don't know the details. You can google for it to find a more detailed explanation.

Some people don't know this (like I did in the beginning) so I thought i'd write a tutorial.
I know it's nothing special.

[q] big help needed!

Hey everyone,so i will buy HTC Sensation tommorow and i allready want to install custom rom into it. Im pretty newbie at android as this will be my first android. So i wanted to ask? How do i install apps to android? I want to install apps, games freely. DO i need to s-off etc stuff..?
Also i want to install Android rEVOLUTIONARY hd rom,as i think it is the best, but it has different versions.. Wich one would you suggest to install? wich one is the best? Also it says that it is recommended to use Different Radio,as i downloaded the guide it says i need to eng s-off ,but i don`t know what`s the difference between normal s-off and eng s-off... Im from europe, lithuania, maybe i don`t even need to install different radio? Please help me,your help will be really appreciated,if you can, just drop the links to my asked questions,THANKS.
Sveikas
Good to hear some fellow Lithuanians are more and more into androids.
First- you said that you want a custom ROM. To install it you have to get S-off (security off)
Next- get clockwork recovery from the android store. The free version is enough. You will need this to put the ROM on the phone.
Everything else is ROM specific. Get the latest (not beta if you want it to be stable) version of the ROM and follow the instructions in it's topic.

TBH,
Just get the phone and play with it for a while.
You can install many many many Free Games and Apps from the Android Market.
If you don't have one already make yourself a GMail account, you'll need that when you get the phone.
Also when you add phone numbers make sure you add them as contacts to the Gmail account. That way if you decide to change ROMs later they'll automatically be Synced from GMail.
GL and have fun.
Thanks for the reply, but i really want different rom and dunno about installing games from internet(as a example i would like to install gta 3,i know that i need somehow to transfer sd files to sd card and then install .apk file? is that right?

You install them directly on the phone, either via a local WiFi or 3G. They are linked to your GMail account that was used when the phone is set up by you.
No transfers required when you install from the Market. If at a later time you change ROM, it'll ask you if you want to sync the apps and it'll re-download them from the Android Market.
Not tried GTA, I'll try now.
EDIT: Have you had an Android phone before ?
Nope, Sensation will be my first. But i didn`t understand? What do i install directly to the phone? You mean .apk file?
EDIT: 1 more question: DO I HAVE TO DO SUPERCID for my ROM????

OK,
Why have you decided you don't want the Stock ROM ?
Where are you trying to get the APK from ? You usually just install straight from Android Market ON THE PHONE. This installs the APK on the Phone as part of the process.
SUPERCID is to enable changing the RUU i.e. a different stock ROM, to a different carrier, or more universal one, e.g. RUU European.
Can you please explain what you are trying to achieve or trying to avoid doing.
well i`m from europe myself. and i want to install better rom, android revolution hd in my opinion. because i think it is better for me ,its is faster than stock rom but i don`t want to mess up anything...,and also if i install this custom rom,is there a way to get my old(stock one) back(i mean,if i don`t like it)? recovery or something else? or i just need to flash rom once again?

Once you have a custom recovery you can create a Nandroid backup and revert back. Or wipe and install another ROM, your choice.
How do you know what a "better" ROM is unless you've tried one ?
Faster is relative, You can change Kernels, or go to an AOSP ROM. How is the original one too slow when you haven't even tried it. Many folks base any change on look and feel.
So u suggest me do not install custom roms at all?

[Q] Couple of problems with the Desire S

Hi everybody. I'm starting a new thread because there are quite a few issues on this phone and I wanted your help in understanding them.
I'm using an Orange HTC desire S which I bought from a local market in India. This was about six months back and it picked up my Vodafone sim easily so i presumed it had some kind of Sim unlocker.
PROBLEM 1
Fast forward to a few days back when I thought getting root access would be fun and would enable many more options. I booted into recovery mode and here is where the first problem kicks in.
When I boot using the volume + power button option, my phone tells me it's S-OFF and then proceeds(on its own) to a different menu. It shows two options only.
1. Device info
2. Clean S58 data
There's no way at all to return to the previous screen here on. It gets stuck here because option 1 gives me general data about the phone and option 2 runs what seems like the sim unlock problem, tells me there's no update and returns to the same menu. I'm always(2 attempts) left with only the battery pull option which invariably clears all the data on my phone and works like a hard reset.
I also tried this without the memory card and got stuck at the black screen with the red exclamation mark.
Can someone tell me what's wrong here and what I need to do to get root access.
PROBLEM 2
This is more of a confusion I face. Most of my friends using the Desire S have got the sense 3.0 update but my phone is still running on 2.1 and tells me it is up to date. On the forum, most people seem to have received the 2.3.5 and the 3.0 update. Why am I not getting it?
Is it because i'm not on the orange network or is it something else(like s off)?
What do i need to do to get the updates in India?
Thanks for reading.
Can someone tell me what's wrong and how I should proceed?

Sukrit, most of your answers are within your questions. I've highlighted them in Red...
First of all, just because you purchased it in India (Somewhere like Gaffar Market, etc) doesn't mean it's from HTC India. HTC software update doesn't look at what sim card you're using to allot upgrades to your phone... It localises you depending on the software shipped with the phone.
Secondly, your phone is an Orange branded device and unlocking stuff is usually more troublesome and dangerous on branded devices... As for the solution to PROBLEM 1 as posted by you, look inside your sd card for a file named PG88IMG.zip. If you find it, back it up on your pc and delete it from the sd card. See if that helps, as having an update zip on your memory card will force your bootloader to flash it whether you want it to do so or not... Let's call it the phone's "instinct" to flash the PG88IMG.zip if it finds it while in bootloader.
I also suggest you read the Guides in the general section carefully, especially the warning about branded devices... But since you say you're s-off, half the battle is already won and i think you'll be okay to root.
As for the battery pull, it does not reset your phone data my friend... your data will all be safe and all it does is a soft reset, NOT a hard reset. You are more likely to fry your eMMC chip doing that... and that would be a MUCH bigger problem, as i'm kinda sure your phone doesn't even have a distant cousin called "warranty"
Let me know if you found an update zip on your sd card like i mentioned above, and we'll pick it up from there.
Cheers. Hope i can be of help.
Thanks a lot for answering and helping me with my problem.

I've understood this but does it also mean that unless i'm on the Orange network, I won't get the update?
Also, great guess on where I got the phone from

I understand. There are two files that i think are relevant.
1. HTC-ANDROID-GOLD_CARD. I haven't put this in as far as I remember. Size-0 bytes.
2. PG88DIAG.nbh. I'm presuming this is the file you were talking about? There is a slight difference in name, though.

This is what is weird,Amit. If I pull the battery when the phone is at the device info and clear s58 data screen, it always hard resets. All software/contacts,basically anything on the phone memory disappears. Why does this happen?
If you think this behavior is normal then i'll remove the file in the memory card and try again.
Thanks a ton!

Why don't we start by removing the PG88DIAG file from the sd card (back it up on PC), and also the GOLD CARD file, which obviously was used by the nefarious Gaffar guys to s-off your phone...,
This will hopefully give you access to bootloader and fastboot so you can root and flash a custom recovery. Once you've done that, you can flash whatever ROM you like.
I'd recommend Endymion if you want the best possible sense 3.5 experience...
Let me know if removing those two files allows you to remain in bootloader and access recovery...
Hey Amit. Removing the two files has worked fine. Thanku
What steps should i take now to get root access?
Or, can I just load the orange ROM available on the other thread without rooting?

Congrats buddy!
Firstly, you cannot flash a custom ROM without a custom recovery...
To obtain root access, you can use Gingerbreak.apk
I suggest you just flash a custom recovery (I personally recommend 4EXT Recovery) via fastboot or you can simply use 4EXT Recovery updater app (free) or 4EXT Recovery Control app (paid, check my signature for link), then take a nandroid backup of your current ROM, and then Flash a Custom ROM.
You don't have to stick to Orange ROMs... you can flash whatever ROM you want... I highly recommend Endymion, but the choice is ultimately yours to make...
Glad you got this far... happy times ahead for you!!

Yup, everything seems to be fine. Go ahead and root your phone... flash 4EXT Recoery via 4EXT Recovery Updater app, and then after taking a backup, and doing a full wipe, flash whatever ROM you want to...
Read the instructions and guides carefully in the general and Development section prior to this, and remember...DO NOT REMOVE THE BATTERY WHILE THE PHONE IS STILL ON! It's better to try other methods to reboot it, or even let it discharge over time and switch off by itself, rather that attempt to pull battery. Othert than this, i think you're ok to flash a new ROM, and enter the amazing world of custom ROMs...
Hey. I decided to be a little experimental and just couldn't wait either; installed revolutionary and i've got root access. Ha!
Thanks so much for your help.
Now tell me, what ROM should I use?
i've also installed clockwork.
Thanks a ton again!
Edit: I think you missed a part of my reply. Gingerbreak hadn't worked hence i opted for this.

Congrats!
If you want a Sense 3 ROM, go for Hyperion
For Sense 3.5 (My personal favourite) go for Endymion
For crazy theming options, you can try MIUI from MIUI.us
If you like plain stock look.... Cyanogenmod.
I would however still recommend Endymion (Though i like v2.2 better than v3)
P.S. Just a friendly question... Gaffar me kitne ka pada ye phone? I bought my phone new...but my wife wants one now and i don't want to put in the money for a new phone from a mobile store...
i'll get endymion then, should follow your advise since you've helped so much. Do i need to make any changes to the hboot/radio?
and should i get both 3.1 and the add on package?
yaar, it'll be a lot cheaper now. when i bought it tab market price was around 22.5. I got it for 16.5 with box and accessories. At that time, there were only two shops that had the desire S and this was the only one that functioned properly.
i'm pretty sure you can get it for less than 13k now.
I'll try n get you the shop's name and number. i've bought both the desire and the desire s from him and they've worked well.

You can get the v3.1 without the addon initially. See how it works for you... Then you can flash the addon package if you feel like Modding the ROM. I'm still on v2.2 because I didn't feel the need to upgrade.
Please do get me the number of your guy in gaffar as I'm planning to get a galaxy note as well as a desire s...
Beamed from the Dark Side using xda premium.
Hey. Looked everywhere for the number but I just can't find it. Awfully sorry, man.
I don't know if you've ever been to Gaffar before but just incase you haven't,do ensure that you buy from a proper shop and not people with cabinets full of phones. These guys will offer you cheaper prices but will also disappear in a couple of days.
There are only 5-6 big shops which sell import phones, most of them are decent and will offer you a week or two worth of hardware guarantee. Enough for you to atleast test the phone out.

That's just sad, man. You really have to be unappreciated in your life when you need to ask for thanks. Or you're just attention whore?

Thanks i have read that post but i am just unsure into best solution.
I updated to ICS over the air through vodafone so i didnt have my phone rooted. I then came across the wifi and bluetooth problem so i thought i would unlock using HTCDEV method.
My phone is now unlocked but im unsure what to next!
My aim is to fix the wifi problem so what do i do.........
* UN UNLOCK MY PHONE THROUGH HTCDEV SO LOCKING IT BACK UP(IF THIS IS POSSIBLE) AND WAIT FOR A RELEASE THROUGH THE BETTER ROOTING METHODS FOR 1.27.0000
* PLACE A ROM ON MY UNLOCKED PHONE SO I REMOVE WIFI PROBLEM?
ANY OTHER OPTIONS.
I AM COMPLETLY NEW TO THIS BUT FAST LEARNER.
THANKS
You are not able to put another rom on you phone, as HTCdev dosent give you a complete S-off. You can however root it and put either Ext4 or Clockwork on it, and then root it.
Htc has allready put a patch out for the wifi problems, this you should get via OTA update.
For proper S-off, so that you are able to install custom roms you will have to wait untill Juopunutbear is released.

there is a new update 15mb one released by HTC itself to solve wifi issues and all..so we'll first try that or then we'll go with custom recovery method
here is the link where the update was available
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24841388&postcount=65588
its a flashable zip..so for that a custom recovery is required
have you got any custom recovery on your phone now?
(you can check it by going to boot loader(HBOOT) by pressing power + volume down button after switching off the phone)
you'll get a white screen which is HBOOT
and then choose recovery by using volume up/down buttons then press power
(just like enter) if there is an exclamatory mark with inverted triangle then you got stock recovery then you need to temporarily boot through custom recovery
first download the zip file to the root of the sd card
then
1.follow the steps from this guide to setup adb/fastboot
guide to install adb/fastboot
2.once that is setup get the recovery.img from 4EXT thread here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377759
try to get the smart flash on one...which is the one for you
3. then follow the steps from this sub heading "[ Update ] Alternative Method to Flash Boot.img for Custom Roms" (ignore the last 3 steps in the sub heading)
which is present in the earlier thread ive provided
4.flash the zip file that you've downloaded and kept in sdcard
using recovery
Hopefully the patch helped with your wifiproblem. However, if you want to go further you can install another rom, as long as it complies with the firmware, that you cannot change.
If you want to go further, you can take a look at this ( my post at the page)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472298&page=35
as a supplement to TRKAAA's wonderful work
WiFi Error and Custom Roms
•S-OFF devices will not have that WiFi error . the following is for members who used htc dev to unlock bootloader instead of doing Revolutionary S-OFF .
•Unlock Bootloader using htc dev Unlock Method ( may or could void your warranty ) or Super tool ( if it is legal to use it ) and ( use htc drivers v3.0.0.7 )
•you can use a Custom Rom that uses a Custom Kernel ,and solve WiFi error ( while you still on htc dev unlock method , i.e NOT S-OFF ) by installing the Boot.img ( includes custom kernel ) bootloader
•if the Custom rom uses the Exact same version of htc Stock Kernel ,you will not have WiFi Error
•Wifi error is usually happens because of the kernel ( in your case it is because of kernel mismatch )
•in htc Method the Boot.img is still locked , Note that the Boot.img includes the Kernel
•the kernel is located inside Boot.img , and Also the kernel components ( when you install a rom ) are located in System \ lib \ modules . the Module Folder is a Kernel Folder . if there is a mismatch between kernel and kernel components you will have WiFi error
•a sample case , the Boot.img is still the htc stock Boot.img ( i.e it includes the stock htc Kernel ) , and you installed a custom Rom that includes a custom Kernel
•When the Custom rom is being installed it will not be able to replace htc Stock Boot.img ( i.e the Stock Kernel , because it is locked ) , But will be able to install kernel components System \ lib \ modules ( because it is Unlocked ) , and Here comes the kernel mismatch and the WiFi Error ( the Kernel is still the htc stock kernel , and the Kernel components are for a different custom Kernel )
I think this is what i need to do to get my wifi working again.
Only thing is i havent a clue where to start. I have unlocked through htcdev but that is as far as i have got.
were do i find the custom roms with the kernals needed to fix my wifi problem.
Please any step by step info into how to do all this and were to get downloads from would me much appreciated.
Please somebody could you tell me what to install and where to install it, these step by steps are confusing me!!!!!

[GUIDE] Removing the 'This is a Test Device... " Message

I am about to part with my One S after two years and intend to return it to a more-or-less stock ROM before selling it.
After flashing several stock-ish ROMS and booting to system, I found that they all produce the following message in red when running Setup:
This is a test device. Tell HTC is automatically enabled so that HTC can collect critical information about the device during testing. It is not possible to turn this feature off on this phone
This message would be potentially of concern to any new owner of the phone, so I have done a little research to find out what causes it and how to remove it. I am sharing my findings here in case they may be of use to anyone else selling their One S after their 24-month contract finishes.
Cause
The warning is generated by an app called Udove when it counters an S-OFF phone during setup - it assumes that, as the security is missing, the device must be a test device. (It isn't)!
Solution
Return to S-ON or remove the Udove app. (This needs to be removed from the ROM.zip as a factory reset would restore the apk if it is simply deleted).
Removing Udove
1. I started with a Stock, rooted ROM (Ville_Europe_3.16.401.8_OTA_UPDATE_Stock_Rooted_ODEX_FULL.zip) from here
2. Unzip the rom (I used 7-Zip)
3. Navigate to the /system/app/ folder and delete Udove.apk and Udove.odex
4. Rezip the ROM
5. Sign the zip (if required)
6. Flash the new ROM - the 'Tell HTC' page is now gone from setup.
Might be usefull, thanks for that!!!
Just wandering why all the devs don't do it by default when they build their Rom? Is there any risk/issue that can explain nobody's doing it?!

Probably no one faces the problem because S-OFF and using a non modified stock rom is not a common combination. Also if someone wants to sell the phone as stock, he/she will think about getting the phone S-ON again before selling it.

Yes, I think the devs ARE doing it by default - I have been using custom ROMs for the last 2 years on this device and have never encountered it before. It was only when I went back to a rooted stock ROM that I came across the issue.
I could go back to completely stock, but that seems a bit pointless after all the work I put in to get the phone to where it is. If a new owner is not interested in rooting/custom recovery/S-OFF etc, they will never know it is there. If they are interested, then the work is already done.
There's also custom hboot to remove the warning.

This is not the same warning. A custom HBOOT removes the warning on the boot screen.
The warning referred to in the OP occurs during Setup, not on the boot screen.
Hey dude, could you upload your ROM after all the steps to flash it in our S-off machine? Thanks in advance, Merry Christmas
