Hi all,
i noticed that my phone (drops/do not) receive calls if i was connected to the internet through the data plan, but it works just fine if i was connected through WiFi, any ideas?
PS: i changed many radios but still the same.
When the calls fail, is the phone is on 2G mode or 3G mode?
i was having a bad reception on 3G so i switched to GSM Only option.

That could be the problem - as 2G does not allow data and voice/text at the same time, could be that because data is active, calls are being dropped. Try disabling data for a while and see if the problem goes away.
yes that is correct, when the send & receive bars of the data is blinking i cant receive calls, otherwise i can receive calls with no problems.
i will try to switch back to 3G and test how it's gonna work.
thanks for your help.
No problem. I had this problem a lot before on my HTC Legend using the stock ROM. While on 2G mode, people would tell me my phone would keep going to voicemail even though I had full reception, and sometimes I would receive texts really late. It was very annoying as I never had the problem previously on Nokia phoens.
However, since switching to CyanogenMod on the Legend, and also on the Desire S, I haven't noticed the problem as much.
Have the same problem on same carrier,
Sometimes, an SMS notifies me that someone has tried to contact me with no success !!
I thought this was carrier related, but never thought this is 3G/2G radio problem on stock ROM!!
Will give the "GSM Only" option a try and will report back.
Thank you all !!!
Hello, just thought I would reach out for some help on an issue with my phone.
The Issue: I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII that was sent to me as a replacement for my older phone which had been running CM11 with no issues. I rooted and re-flashed a newer ROM to this device with minor issues (Just had to change the CDMA subscription to RUIM/ SIM). I was able to use the mobile data fine. However, when I went to make a call, I receive a recording saying that I am roaming. I have tried flashing back to the stock ROM, changing the radio to only use CDMA (Not 4G/ LTE), flashing older versions of CM11. None of this has yielded any results. I check the phone status and it says that the device is connected, shows the correct phone number, and also says that I am not roaming.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hello
I'm suffering connection problems with my S4 for over 3 months now. I've tried everything including switching to Cyanogenmod and back to original, factory resets, other simcards, ....
Sometimes my phone works perfectly and then suddenly I can't receive calls/make calls or send text/receive text messages. the only thing that keeps working is Edge/3G.
When i then try to call someone, it says 'Mobile network not available' although I see my carrier at the bottom of that notifications panel.
The service state says: speech:not in use data:in use or sometimes it says out of service and I have no network at all (except Edge/3G)
When i switch to flight mode and back sometimes the problems are solved for a short while but not always...
I'm desperate to get this solved and I lost my warranty because I flashed Cyanogenmod :/ any ideas?
Thanks
My Nexus 5 is running Android 5.0.1 (Lollipop). Unlocked, not rooted. My carrier is Cricket. Here is what happens:
1. If the phone is connected to a WiFi network, I am unable to send text messages. The message will attempt sending for a while and then basically timeout. The app will report that the send failed. This will happen no matter what application I use (Hangouts, Google Messenger, chompSMS...). If I'm on the cellular network, texts send find. EDIT: Actually I'm seeing that's not actually true. Even when I'm on LTE, there's no guarantee messages will send. I can't actually detect a pattern here.
2. I am unable to switch from WiFi to cellular data by turning WiFi off. If I'm on WiFi and I disable Wifi in the Settings panel, the cellular indicator will change to show 2 or 3 bars of service with an exclamation point (!), seemingly indicating that I'm either not on the network or that I don't have data. If I reboot the phone I'll have full LTE.
I first started noticing the issues with text messaging back when I was running CM11 nightlies. Everything was fine and then a few weeks ago it started happening. I figured something had gotten messed up in those builds so I flashed to stock Lollipop but the problem persisted. I flashed to 5.0.1 and the problem remains. I also tried switching carriers from Cricket to T-Mobile, but T-Mobile service was so bad in my area that I had to switch back the next day; I didn't really get a chance to put it through its paces.
I know this is a weird one, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Dear Friend,
I'm having trouble receiving a call
The problem occurs when the phone is configured as preferred LTE. If it is configured as preferred 3G the problem does not occur.
I only discovered this problem because many people started to complain that they were not able to call me.
I did everything to try to find the problem and I was not successful. I did factory recovery and also without success. I need to leave my phone on 4G because I use a lot of data network but this bug is preventing the phone from receiving calls.
Could someone please help?
MIUI Global
12.0.6
Note 1 (wi-fi off): It is not 100% of the calls that occur problem but they are the majority.
I realized that when the phone is with the screen unlocked the problem does not occur. When the phone is locked and the screen is off, all calls fail
Note 2 (wi-fi on): If the screen is turned off with the phone connected to the 4G + wifi network the problem happens and even turning on the screen the problem continues.
workaroud: Turn on the screen. Turn off wifi
Regards
[UPDATE]
I upgraded to version MIUI Global 12.0.7 and issue was resolved in parts
The problem only occurs when the cell phone is connected to the 4G/4G+ network and the wifi. In this case the phone does not receive voice calls either with the screen locked and the screen unlocked.
If the wifi is off the problem no longer occurs
