Hello, just thought I would reach out for some help on an issue with my phone.
The Issue: I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII that was sent to me as a replacement for my older phone which had been running CM11 with no issues. I rooted and re-flashed a newer ROM to this device with minor issues (Just had to change the CDMA subscription to RUIM/ SIM). I was able to use the mobile data fine. However, when I went to make a call, I receive a recording saying that I am roaming. I have tried flashing back to the stock ROM, changing the radio to only use CDMA (Not 4G/ LTE), flashing older versions of CM11. None of this has yielded any results. I check the phone status and it says that the device is connected, shows the correct phone number, and also says that I am not roaming.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, I have a big problem with my Nexus S Eur (I9023 SLCD)
I bought it used but almost new, and no bill…
The phone, not modified, worked fine for 3 months. (2.3.4 GRJ22)
But one day I could no longer use the calls and SMS, while the Internet connection (3G) worked fine.
The majority of other sim cards are not properly recognized, but mine yes, it recognize the PIN code, the network (Numericable, a French MVNO), and correctly read the APNs. I can go on the net with data connection, but no call, no sms… (No MMS in the subscription I chose)
I tried to restore it with ODIN like I read here, it worked fine, but same problem.
I tried Custom ROM, custom Kernels, I tried ALL the radios of the I9023, no change…
When I call, no error it just hangs up the phone.
SMS, it says sms was not sent
The only one error I can read is, when I want to consult the call forwarding settings : “Network or SIM card error”
Any idea?
If the phone is a stolen one, and if the IMEI is blacklisted (3 months after?!?), is it normal that I still use the 3G connection?
The simcard work fine in my old phone
Thanks !
PS : sorry for my english, I do the best I can
No idea?
Maybe Hardware problem?
is the phone rooted?
try the *#*#3646#*#* to select your correct baseband settings.
When the problem started, the phone was rooted
After, I tried rooted and unrooted
With the 4636 I can access to the list of the baseband settings (now GSM/CDMA Auto (PRL) ), but if I change it (GSM only for exemple), it is not saved.... It doen't say anything, but if i quit the 4636 screen and return to it, it is GSM/CDMA Auto again....
Hello Everyone,
I got my first android phone this weekend, a Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 (not I1900G, or any other variant, just plain old I9100) which was locked to T-mobile UK.
After doing a bit of reading and trying out 3 different methods for rooting, CF-root, insecure kernel, and finally the method described here for rooting stock ICS firmware without flashing an insecure kernel by Rachmat3:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719
After rooting method #2 (flash insecure kernel, run S2-root on phone) I ran chainfire's [root] Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock, this didn't work, so I ran Galaxy_S Unlock and it worked. At this stage I could use my phone for calls and sms though my SIM's network provider (virgin), and I later figured out how to get virgin to send me a configuration message to set up the APN settings, and I could then use 3G data to browse the web, etc...
However, I lost root when I flashed a secure kernel, and updated the firmware to XWLP7 from the intratech list of official kernels & firmwares:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Hence why I used Rachmat3's method #3 to regain root access, which worked like a charm.
However, I then lost the ability to make calls, send SMS and the phone refused to find the virgin network! Disaster! 3G still worked fine for data, and when I tried my sim card in my old phone I could still make calls and it found the virgin network immediately. I tried my gf's virgin sim in the SGS2 and it could find the virgin network but wouldn't connect any calls, it kept saying "unable to connect, try again later".
After reading around, I suspect that this may be a modem problem, can anyone confirm or deny this? I have the modem that came with intratech's XWLP7 firmware, which I believe is XXLPS. Can anyone recommend which modem I should try?
I have a real imei number, I tried flashing the CPW version of the XWLP7 rom instead of the XEU one, no luck, I tried a few other things that I can't remember now as it's first thing in the morning at work!
Any help, suggestions, or direction would be greatly appreciated, I was almost there on my own - fell at the last hurdle!
No-one else has this problem?
I've tried my sim card in it again this evening, I am unable to select virgin or Virgin from the network providers, but all other providers are there, o2, etc...
What's perculiar, is that when I use my gf's sim, both virgin and Virgin and all other providers are present, however, even with this sim, I still cannot make calls, even though it connects to the network, what the heck!?!
I've tried using different modems, no help.
Please anyone, any ideas?
I've contacted virgin this evening, they say the imei code isn't on their blacklist, I can't contact t-mobile until tomorrow, but I will ring them tomorrow and find out if they've blacklisted the imei for some reason.
Help!!
Any ideas, anyone else had similar problems?
Plz help!
I am looking forward to anyone's help about this question!
Hi all,
Just found out that the IMEI has been listed as lost or stolen by t-mobile. In contact with original owner to try and rectify the problem.
Anyone else having this issue, it's likely the same problem, contact the original carrier and ask to check their IMEI blacklist.
On a related note, does this mean that the previous owner of every second hand phone that is sold can just ring up their old provider and blacklist that IMEI whenever they want?
Seems like a bit of a massive oversight if you ask me... Surely there must be a way to transfer ownership of the IMEI number to a new owner?
I'm new to this forum, so if I've posted this in the wrong place, please move it.
I have an AT&T branded Galaxy SII i727 Skyrocket (4G LTE). It is not unlocked, has not been rooted and runs AT&T firmware. The phone was purchased independent of a contract (eBay). I am a very light user, but I find it convenient to have a data plan and initially used AT&T GoPhone prepaid. Phone and SMS worked properly, but some tweaking was needed to get data to work properly. After a few months, I switched to Consumer Cellular (AT&T MVNO). Initially data did not work, but CC's tech support gave me revised Access Point Name settings and all became as it should be.
Last week (or maybe the week before), I finally gave in to the phone's insistence on updating to a later firmware version. From then on, I have been unable to get data to work at all. the 4G symbol no longer appears (although I doubt it was ever actually a 4G connection) and any App that requires a data connection (web, email, etc) complains about no connection. WiFi, on the other hand, works properly with all such Apps.
Here are the specifics on my phone:
Samsung SGH-I727
Android 4.04
Baseband Version I727UCLI3
Kernel Version:
3.0.8-1127534
[email protected]#1
SMPPREEMPT Thu Sep 27 23:12:45 KST 2012
2012Build number IMM76D.UCLI3
My questions are these:
1. Has anyone had this sort of problem (data on CC fails after upgrade)? If so, how did you solve it?
2. Was this problem caused by the upgrade? If not, what other issues might have caused it and how can they be corrected?
3. How can I revert the firmware to the previous version to confirm the cause and/or resolve it?
4. What else can I do to get my data connection back?
I am not particularly Android savvy, but I am not shy about making changes in settings and/or installing fixes.
Thanks,
Tenaya
I am having the same problem. Same phone set up. I switched from AT&T and installed a Net10 sim on there bring your on phone. Installed been working great. Then it just stopped no data connection. 3g 4g no signal nothing. I have been searching for solution while reading the noobie guides. still looking for someone, a thread, or just a link to where i might start to solve this problem.
Check your apn settings and make sure they are correct for the SIM card. Check with the carrier for the correct settings.
APN settings, I almost guarantee it. Check to make sure they are correct for your carrier

yes for anyone else having this issue I had the same issue after flashing a new ROM and this was where the problem was.
Help request: LTE Data works,"no service" otherwise. IMEI/number, but no texts/calls.
Software: Android 5.0.1 Skydragon M8 v2.0 Sense 7
Many people have posted issues with LTE where their cellular signal was fine for "2G" functions like calls and texts.
I'm having the opposite problem. After leaving airplane mode (landing at an airport today), I have a "No Service" message in the status bar drop down (notification tray), and the Settings>Network information page shows "Not Registered." However, I do have an IMEI (see details below). However, LTE data works perfectly fine.
I've obviously tried changing the settings in Settings>Mobile Data (preferred network to Global / LTE / LTE/legacy 3GPP mode) connection type global/auto/LTE/etc), to no avail. If LTE is connected it works flawlessly, but I cannot make calls or texts, and show not registered on the network. Data roaming is set to deny, but even allowing roaming does not change the situation.
Before this happened, I HAD gone through all the XTended Settings, and even 'looked' at (but did NOT change) some advanced settings pages, including the 'hidden' HTC network info page ( *#*#4636#*#* ). Again, however, I didn't change anything -- unless by accident?!
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Anyone know if I may have inadvertently changed something and can change it back (a setting that would persist in the hardware through NANDROID restores and factory resets...). Or, any other advice to restore the cellular service connection to normal?
I've tried a full NANDROID restore (multiple times) to a working copy, and a factory reset. I have limited access to a PC since I'm traveling, so re-flashing the VZW firmware or stock recovery or lollipop/verizon RUU would be challenging.
I did spend a good 45 minutes (at a library, my only PC access!) searching the forums and web, but to no avail.
Settings information:
OPperator Name: Verizon
Signal Strength -114 (I've had better but still have the same issues)
Mobile Network type: LTE
Service state: In service
IMS service state: Not Registered
Roaming: Not Roaming
Phone Identity page:
IMEI shows up (15-digit number...how can I verify I didn't mess this up?)
Phone Number is correct
IP Address: 100.66..... (looks good)
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

I'm having the same issue. When i try to make a call my LTE bars drop to nothing and it says call failed no network available. Any ideas or help would be nice. I was using venom rom as well. I'm currently trying to flash the newest RRU to see if that resets things. I'm wondering if it somehow my sim card. I took it from my droid turbo. I've made sure to turn off advanced calling on my VZW account though.

I had this same issue, running from ruu then rooted. I didn't noticed until I started seeing voice mail notifications but never heard the phone ring. When I tried to dial out I got the immediate call lost message. I couldn't figure what was causing it so I just did a reset. I made sure not to restore any systems data from prior to the Lollipop upgrade. At this point everything is working, the only thing I haven't installed yet is the xposed framework and sense 6 toolbox.

What kind of reset did you do? I know my issue is slightly different, but I did a full RUU-flash yesterday (latest lollipop version) and still no luck. Unfortunately I'm out of the country now and access to a computer is limited, and I don't even have a SIM card yet to check if cellular service would work anyway.
I do intend to do a flash of the stock recovery and radios once I have the time and access, but that may be a while...
Still, I'll keep checking this thread to see if anyone posts any other options

Just go into settings and to Backup & Reset , this will return your phone to a fresh install and remove all non bundled apps.
Before doing the reset try going into Settings then Call then change Preferred Network to Global, or toggle from LTE then back to Global.
Hi folks,
This is my first post on here. I'm having a problem with my phone which I think is quite unique and I hope someone on here can help me fix it before I buy a new device.
I have a galaxy nexus (maguro) running cyaogenmod.
Previously I was running CM11 (cm-11-20141115-SNAPSHOT-M12-maguro) from the CM website and updated it to CM12.1 cm-12.1-20160719-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO8DL-maguro) a few weeks ago.
When I rebooted my phone it was running very slow (and getting very warm) so I did a factory reset and re-installed CM12.1.
It started working ok but I noticed that my phone was displaying 'emergency calls only' even though the network reception in the status bar was full, displaying 'H' (3g) and allowing me to connect to the internet using 3G.
Whenever I make a call it states 'Mobile network not available' and I cannot send text messages.
I tried phoning O2 and they gave me a new sim but the problem was still happening. I then tried putting my girlfriend's EE sim into the phone and I could make calls/send messages. I also went to France on holiday and could use my phone to phone/text using my O2 sim abroad. Whenever I put my O2 sim into another phone I can make calls and text.
So basically it is only when my O2 sim is specifically in the Galaxy Nexus that I cannot make calls/send texts but can still use 3g.
Oh yeah when I go to Settings>Mobile Network Settings>Network Operators the following available networks are shown:
O2-UK
T-Mobile UK
3 UK
vodafone UK
Orange
When I select O2-UK is states 'cannot connect at this time. Please try again later'
I've tried re-installing the older version of CM11 and today I tried wiping the entire phone (internal sd card etc) and it is still happening. Can anyone help? Is there something else I can wipe, or setting I can change?
Thanks in advance
