Help me decide... Coming from an iPhone 5 - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I specifically want to get either the Razr M or the Razr HD Maxx.
Since you guys already have been working on / with this phone, can you give me some pros and cons for the Razr M or the Razr HD Maxx vs the iPhone 5.
One thing I already know for a fact is the Razr family Battery > ANY iPhone Battery
Cheers!

Here is my thread on jumping from the M to the Maxx HD... it got locked with some trash talking. I guess the Mods close threads instead of dealing with people pooping in other peoples threads... Regardless it lays out good and bad of both devices pretty well.

I've been using an iPhone for the past few weeks, and my RAZR HD should be here by the end of the week. I can give you a full rundown of both devices.
I wouldn't even consider the RAZR M. The screen isn't the best. It's low res and pentile. I would chose either the RAZR HD or the RAZR MAXX HD.
Honestly, I can't wait to get my hands on it. The iPhone just has way too many limitations.

I sincerely look forward to your rundown comparison. Keep me posted!

I went with the regular HD over the MAXX with some concerns over battery, but I use my phone thought my day in wireless retail and it is my only contact with my DM who texts 40 - 50 messages a day and I rarely get under 30% battery after using it from 0800 to 2300-2400
I would say save a penny and go with just the HD

Unless you prefer a phone closer in overall size to the iPhone, I would definitely go with the HD. The M has decent battery life but the screen is definitely not as nice as the other devices. It is slightly wider than the iPhone which is helpful if like me you have thick fingers. Personally, I went for the Razr Maxx HD for the even wider screen and subsequently easier typing and the crazy battery. The storage capacity is also nice addition.
If you do opt for the Maxx HD, I'd get if from Amazon Wireless instead of Verizon because it's only $149.

If you are coming from an iPhone and plan on taking any pics I would strongly advise against the RAZR m. Its camera is anemic. My dad just got the Maxx HD. Its camera is tolerable. Battery and signal have been great tho

My RAZR HD arrived today.
Do far:
Great battery life
Solid construction
Very nice screen(better than my S3)
Strong wifi a cell signals
Pretty snappy(I haven't updated it to Jelly Bean yet)
Android OS. It's just so much smarter than iOS. I can tether without jail breaking, and the notification bar is smart(version the app menu Apple calls their notification bar).

Need a second android phone

Greetings all,
Just got an S3. Getting to know it and like it a lot.
I need a second android phone for my business line. Considered the Google Nexus but heard mixed reviews. Any ideas?

Motorola Droid Razr Max HD
HTC One X would be a good choice!

I'd get the razor Maxx
Gs3
Never thought I'd say this but since it is for a business line I say go with anything from the Motorola Droid RAZR line. The signal quality on those are superb and since its business I'm sure that's most important.
I would've recommended the Galaxy Nexus but I use to have a huge struggle with maintaining signal. I went through 5 gnex until they offered to give me a gs3 and I took it. I know plenty of people that use to have the issue didn't have it anymore once they flashed those recent jelly bean radios but there were also some like myself that still had the problem.

No offense to you personally, but I couldn't see getting an Android phone whose multitasking has been crippled, with a unibody design that makes battery replacement difficult and no SD card slot.
I'd still get it above an iPhone because it's essentially been whittled down to iPhone limitations with the size and OS we expect from contemporary Android phones, but within the Android product lines it's not something I'd seek out above others. If their JB update fixes the multitasking limitations, I could more easily see it as a second phone, though.
If I needed a second phone that wasn't necessarily in the GS3 class and dev wasn't an immediate goal, I might try out the Droid Incredible 4G LTE.
My $0.02.

RAZR maxx or if you waited the RAZR maxx hd

[Q] Razr HD Dev Edition or Razr Maxx HD

Thinking of taking the plunge to the Razr HD but not sure what to get. Would you get the RAZR HD Dev edition or the Maxx? I will be paying outright to keep my unlim data with Verizon. The unlocked edition is tempting to mod it but so is the extended battery life of the Maxx. I'm a fairly heavy user coming from the Galaxy Nexus that wasn't cutting it in the battery department.
I was torn with the decision too (coming from a Thunderbolt), but ultimately I went with the Razr Maxx HD. I am confident enough that with fastboot and kexec (once a Razr HD hack is available), that needing an officially unlocked bootloader is not required to satisfy my power-user needs.
Loving the Maxx thus far. Rooted it within the first 10-minutes of powering it up. It just "feels" like a good phone. Great build quality (doesn't feel cheap/plasticy like Samsung phones) and the weight isn't much different than my T-Bolt. And I am really looking forward to experiencing what multi-day battery life feels like. I rocked the Rezound battery in my Thunderbolt, and for the phone got good battery life, but I would never go overnight without charging since it would be at 20-30 by the time I would head to bed.
Looking forward to what the dev community has in store for this phone!
I just bit the bullet and paid for the dev... although the above poster is accurate I just like knowing that my device will be unlocked from day 1... the battery is still miles above older phones.

[Q] Razr Maxx HD vs. Droid 4, which is faster?

Can't seem to find any benchmarks. does anybody know which device is faster? I'm assuming the the Razr HD maxx. But by how much?
I'm considering buying one of em if I can't get the Nexus 4.
They vary, to be honest.
D4
Quadrant: 2,535 to 2,955
HD
Quadrant: 4110 to 4315
Have you ever held/looked at the Droid 4? The screen is atrocious when compared to the HD.
Had one for less than a day. Just my $0.02
Sent from my RAZR MAXX HD using Tapatalk 2
Nope. I have the the moto milestone (basically droid 1) So anything better than that screen is good enough for me.
I'm also from canada and I was debating which phone to get if I can't get the Nexus 4 and sadly, the D4 and Maxx isn't available in Canada.

HTC One S or Motorola Droid RAZR HD?

I don't know if this is the right section, but I have question. Is this phone better or is the Droid RAZR HD better? Thanks for reading.
The RAZR HD is a better phone overall. Way better battery life, better/bigger screen (although I think the one s screen is better calibrated), RGB NLED (and much better placement), SD slot, NFC.
Camera is much better on the S though.
Design/build is subjective. Both will have great perceived quality
Software is subjective. The razr hd software is very much stock android but with a few additional features.
Audio quality is more or less the same.
Thanks for your help.
Has anyone else used both the One S and the RAZR HD and can help me?
Why don't you get the Nexus 4 instead? Straight from Google very good spec for the money and get updates first
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
Because with a contract, the Razr HD is only $50 and the One S $20. I'm getting a contract anyways so it's a good deal.

[Q] If I buy a new Razr MAXX...

...will it come with the much-despised boot-locking update already installed? I'm weighing my options between the Razr or one of the current crop of phones (S4 or the new Droid line) and I think that's my breaking point; I want the SD card and nutso battery life, but not enough to stick with an outdated stock ROM forever.
Just depends how long it's been on the shelf. But with the x right around the corner I personally wouldn't.

Unless the X turns out to have an SD slot after all (counter to the leaks), it's not an option anyway. If a Razr's not an option, I'll probably go with an S3 or S4 despite their crappy-ass body design. Maybe I'll go to an actual store and ask for their floor model...
An s3? I think it doesn't worth it. I had an s3, and i 'm happy with my RAZR HD. Maybe you can go for the S4
