[Q] Razr Maxx HD vs. Droid 4, which is faster? - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can't seem to find any benchmarks. does anybody know which device is faster? I'm assuming the the Razr HD maxx. But by how much?
I'm considering buying one of em if I can't get the Nexus 4.

They vary, to be honest.
D4
Quadrant: 2,535 to 2,955
HD
Quadrant: 4110 to 4315
Have you ever held/looked at the Droid 4? The screen is atrocious when compared to the HD.
Had one for less than a day. Just my $0.02

Nope. I have the the moto milestone (basically droid 1) So anything better than that screen is good enough for me.
I'm also from canada and I was debating which phone to get if I can't get the Nexus 4 and sadly, the D4 and Maxx isn't available in Canada.

Droid Razr HD general impressions and international usage

I'm currently using a HTC one X but the poor Wifi battery life and the lack of SD card slot(or storage space in general) is really starting to get to me and this particular "gem" stood out from the crowd as it had both boxes ticked and had had a nice design to boot.
Okay so far from what I can tell the bootloader is locked but has been bypassed like the XT912 (which I owned for a brief period of time) am I correct in saying this?
How does this compare to the original XT912?
Has anyone tried using this internationally? How did it fare?
I switched from a One X (international) on AT&T to the RAZR HD in Verizon. The battery life of the RAZR is phenomenal. Yesterday I did over 41 hours with 4 hours of screen on time...simply unheard of with the One X. Personally I'm not going to fiddle with this phone (I ran CM10 on my One X) for quite a while. Looking forward to a stock JB experience soon.

sounds... good, I find myself charging at mid day If I leave the Wifi on my One-X on and it is getting irritating, the lack of storage space is also a large issue. I don't mod my phone terribly often but I will try to remove that terrible bloatware.
Does this still open up a Verizon ad every time you plug the USB into the computer?
How about the international usage ? Did anyone use this verizon razr hd in europe with local sim cards ?
Haven't plugged my phone into a computer, and haven't used it overseas yet but it is unlocked for foreign SIM cards.

Help me decide... Coming from an iPhone 5

I specifically want to get either the Razr M or the Razr HD Maxx.
Since you guys already have been working on / with this phone, can you give me some pros and cons for the Razr M or the Razr HD Maxx vs the iPhone 5.
One thing I already know for a fact is the Razr family Battery > ANY iPhone Battery
Cheers!

Here is my thread on jumping from the M to the Maxx HD... it got locked with some trash talking. I guess the Mods close threads instead of dealing with people pooping in other peoples threads... Regardless it lays out good and bad of both devices pretty well.

I've been using an iPhone for the past few weeks, and my RAZR HD should be here by the end of the week. I can give you a full rundown of both devices.
I wouldn't even consider the RAZR M. The screen isn't the best. It's low res and pentile. I would chose either the RAZR HD or the RAZR MAXX HD.
Honestly, I can't wait to get my hands on it. The iPhone just has way too many limitations.

I sincerely look forward to your rundown comparison. Keep me posted!
I went with the regular HD over the MAXX with some concerns over battery, but I use my phone thought my day in wireless retail and it is my only contact with my DM who texts 40 - 50 messages a day and I rarely get under 30% battery after using it from 0800 to 2300-2400
I would say save a penny and go with just the HD

Unless you prefer a phone closer in overall size to the iPhone, I would definitely go with the HD. The M has decent battery life but the screen is definitely not as nice as the other devices. It is slightly wider than the iPhone which is helpful if like me you have thick fingers. Personally, I went for the Razr Maxx HD for the even wider screen and subsequently easier typing and the crazy battery. The storage capacity is also nice addition.
If you do opt for the Maxx HD, I'd get if from Amazon Wireless instead of Verizon because it's only $149.
If you are coming from an iPhone and plan on taking any pics I would strongly advise against the RAZR m. Its camera is anemic. My dad just got the Maxx HD. Its camera is tolerable. Battery and signal have been great tho
My RAZR HD arrived today.
Do far:
Great battery life
Solid construction
Very nice screen(better than my S3)
Strong wifi a cell signals
Pretty snappy(I haven't updated it to Jelly Bean yet)
Android OS. It's just so much smarter than iOS. I can tether without jail breaking, and the notification bar is smart(version the app menu Apple calls their notification bar).

[Q] If I buy a new Razr MAXX...

...will it come with the much-despised boot-locking update already installed? I'm weighing my options between the Razr or one of the current crop of phones (S4 or the new Droid line) and I think that's my breaking point; I want the SD card and nutso battery life, but not enough to stick with an outdated stock ROM forever.
Just depends how long it's been on the shelf. But with the x right around the corner I personally wouldn't.

Unless the X turns out to have an SD slot after all (counter to the leaks), it's not an option anyway. If a Razr's not an option, I'll probably go with an S3 or S4 despite their crappy-ass body design. Maybe I'll go to an actual store and ask for their floor model...
An s3? I think it doesn't worth it. I had an s3, and i 'm happy with my RAZR HD. Maybe you can go for the S4

Razr Maxx the same as Razr HD for roms?

All,
Will a Verizon Motorola Droid Razr Maxx use the same roms as Motorola Droid Razr HD? My parents both have Verizon Motorola Droid Razr Maxx and I'm thinking it would be a good idea to put a custom Rom on both of their phones. I used to have a rooted HTC droid Eris and Motorola Droid Global. So I have somewhat of an idea of what I'm doing. The only problem is I want to make sure that these roms will work on their phones.
Also, extremely dumb question since everyone will say something different but what is the best stable ROM out there for reliability? I remember HTC sense being ultra easy to use with the stock overlay of just clicking phone at the bottom etc.
Thanks,
Chris

No. The Razr Maxx HD is the same as the Razr HD, which was released in Oct 2012.
The droid razr maxx (the one you mentioned in you post) uses the same roms as the droid razr, both phones were released in 2010/2011 time frame I think.
-- Dan
The Razr and Razr HD also run different processors. Like Dan said, they ROMs aren't interchangeable. Also, you cannot unlock the bootloader on the Razr, so you'll need to use SafeStrap to flash ROMs. For more info, I would go over to the Razr forums.

Droid Maxx 2 vs Droid Turbo 2

Switching to Verizon soon, and i've been reading up on both phones. I've heard and read about a lot of problems with the Turbo 2. Definitely want to go with Motorola, so i'd appreciate some feedback. Thanks.
I am using Droid Turbo 2 for a past couple of months, i would recommend you to get Turbo 2 over Moto X Play, it's camera quality is super and battery timing is great too
