Hello guys, i have a problem with dolphin browser. Everything worked fine until few days ago, now however then i enter a website it wont display it normal way like on pc, it splits website in to pieces, and if i wanna read for example an older article wich is on the end of a page, i have to go like to 25th part of it. it sucks this way. i also tried opera mini browser, it shoes everything normal way, but i cant go to some websites, cause its identified as mobile, not as desktop computer. Hope you understood me and srry for my english.
a little confused.. could you by any chance take a screenshot? and out of curiosity did ya press any option by accident that resulted in this incident?

Yeah its hard to explain, could you tell me any software to make a screenshot ?
If ya rooted you can simply download shootme and use that.. the latter is a little more complicated.. u would have to look it up using search!

I've had my One S for about a week now, coming from a Nexus S. I was pretty blessed with the vanilla updates, but was excited to use the best yet Sense 4. But one of the few gripes I have about this stock ROM is that when I click youtube, instagram or other links that have their own apps, I have no option to "complete action using..." And it kicks me to the web browser every time.
Have you noticed this? If you have, have you found a solution? Or a workaround at least?

I have noticed this, and I've noticed that when I click a Play Store link that it brings me to the web page instead of asking if I want to use the app instead. I've cleared defaults from my browser several times, nothing works. I'm pretty sure that it worked before, though, so I'm stumped.

What browser are you using? I downloaded the Chrome Beta immediately after setting up the phone so I have no experience with the stock browser. Are you using the stock browser?
I'm also using Chrome, which I suspect might be the culprit, but I haven't had the time to uninstall and test.

This is a probelm with the updated Sense. App Associations only lets you pick a browser to open urls.
If any of you can call HTC or go and send them a report on their website it would help, I have a Rezound and the problem has been there with every ICS leak. I filled out a support ticket but don't have a One device.
I have had no problems at all with this, I'm using chrome. I have been able to open play store as well

root the phone, delete htclinkifydispatcher.apk from /system/app, clear defaults for the browser, reboot. youtube, play store links, etc will prompt what to open when you click on them.
I tried to freeze that app, using TB. But now Google search widget doesn't work.

yeah, using root browser, wont let me delete that, keeps on failing.
went into titanium backup and froze it, now no links open, there is no prompt.
hope its that easy
This fix worked for me, in that it allowed me to open links to the market through webpages. However, it seems to create a new problem -- it breaks QR code scanners...
Looks like this may be happening on all HTC phones: http://androidforums.com/htc-thunderbolt/550016-app-associations-screwed-my-phone-up.html. From what I have read, this is due to the Apple lawsuit. Given that the lawsuit only dealt with US users, I wonder if European versions are having this problem.

After freezing it, were you able to still use the Google Search widget?
It looks like links directed to the old Market actually open to the Play Store. It's just newer links to http://play.google.com/store that take you straight to the browser.

No, my phone does not have this issue, UK unbranded.

Yeah, I started that thread over on Android forums.
I'm kinda glad to see that I'm not the only one having these problems.
I'm running a Thunderbolt. Just got the update (both my wife and I).
Now both of ours are having this problem.
I've searched and finally narrowed it down to the new App Associations section.
I don't think it has anything to do with which browser is used.
It just now forces all 'Web URLs' to use the browser as opposed to an installed app.
I don't know how extensive this is, and who all is going to be affected by it, but it's definitely a major issue. It destroyed the usability of this phone.
I'm can't root my wife's or my own phone. There's got to be a work around. Or they've got to be releasing a revised update. This couldn't have been done on purpose. The phone worked beautifully before, integrating all the apps that I had. Now everything I do is screwed up. Nothing is working how it's supposed to.
If it's any help...I have an HTC Thunderbolt through Verizon. Stock Rom.
Is this new App Association thing affecting all Androids? Is it something that was updated across the board, or only on specific devices/ or specific carriers? I've been banging my head against a wall trying to figure this all out for the last three days, and it seems like no one knows what I'm talking about, and my posts are invisible. I've been going crazy.

Looks like HTC got sued, so those of us in the US with an HTC product got screwed.
They are avoiding legal issues, be removing an Apple Patented process for detection of things which can open apps that are installed on the phone.
Without this, the phone is junk to me. It makes it wholly unusable and takes literally at least 3-4 times longer to complete my tasks.

There's not going to be an unrooted work around. You have some choices, but they all require you to learn to live with it, root, or get a different phone.
I am an angry consumer, and I punish companies that screw with me by not doing business with them, and encouraging others to avoid then as well. I've also been known to fire off an angry letter, or phone call to the offending party. Apple isn't worried about you or me, so that's wasted effort in this case. What's left is punishing HTC by not buying their products, but it's too late in both our cases, so basically call or write them telling them to "fu***ng pay Apple for the patent license and fix our phones". This App Associations bs ain't cutting it to keep us happy. Like you I don't want to root, but I think it may be the only way, unless a ****-ton of us tell HTC to fix it, it's going to stay the same.

There is a work around, at least for YouTube links. Install the app Flashify. Share the YouTube link to it and select the YouTube app

If your custom rom is euro based, this makes sense. They were not part of the trademark infringement case brought by those idiots at Apple, so they don't have the app management workaround that is causing all the problems.
Does your custom rom have signal problems? As I recall, that was an issue being reported by tmous customers who tried some of the euro roms.

Yes, its euro based. I went with it because of the app association. Well I've been using it for a while now and I have no problems with it. I've read about a "data bug" but have no problems with signal or using the mobile data.

I can't get this to work for me, I have tried renaming and deleting, nothing works.
Hi. I have a small problem , i cant see pictures in marketplace, facebook or in internet, on any rom what i use, sounds like im not clearing cache, ! But i can clear it how many times i want and reflash rom same. No changes. But its only happens when im on wifi, if im on mobile data all works fine. Plz some one can tell where is problem on this ???

I've never heard of this problem before. I can only imagine the issue is with your WiFi. But that still wouldn't explain the lack of pictures only. I don't know how to advise you. Try the help thread in the q and a section. You might find someone who can give you an answer there.
I found that the there is some bug in play store, same thing what i have. But it will explained pne problem, but not facebook and youtube. In youtube i dont see pictures anlu blank screens and the clip name.
Some time back i changed router ,but it cant be that fault, got better one

after i flashed the tweak rom, i get this message saying that the htc sense has stopped working, what tweaks am i installing wrong?
Need to be more specific please. Mention what you did, what you did or steps you took to get to this point etc etc etc
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda app-developers app
i checked everything, so basically i installed every single tweak
Does the problem go away when you uncheck? From what you've stated I would go through each till you find the problem. That's all you've really given to go on. Did you check faq it see if this is a known issue in said Rom?

yeah i searched the whole forum and i googled it, but no one seems to have a problem with the htc sense suddenly not working

I had that too and it's not a problem with sense its the sense keyboard. If it says sense input then that's what it is. You can solve it by downloading another keyboard and put it in your sd card. Then Install it. You probably can't even download it from your phone so download it from your computer as an apk then send it through a usb. 4shared.com is a really good place to find apps for free

yeah i know but it has to be one of the tweaks though hm
Lol don't do every tweak...I'm surprised you're even booting when you did that. Just select the ones you need.

yeah i did that and another thing, is tehre suppose to be a access menu for the tweaks? i dont see the menu nor the icon like the one seen in the video
Hi Everyone,
Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing issues with XDA recently.
I've had the same password since I started, and its stored in chrome so usually I just press enter on my keyboard and voila, logged in.
Today I've been getting the login failed attempt 1 out of 5 etc.
But yet, If I refresh I'll be logged in, then I'll click a forum, e.g. HTC One X and again I'm logged OUT.
Then I'll click Q n A or General etc, and back logged in.
I'm very worried and don't know whether its XDA issues, or someone changing my password etc?
Any insight appreciated, thanks.
Close this, wrong section was looking for Q n A!!
not hacking related lol...
same happens wid me on forum runner app..
first login attempt failed n m logged out..
probably this is not the right place to report
No, I don't think xda has been hacked.
The day xda will be hacked... Microsoft would have bought linux
