Hi Everyone,
Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing issues with XDA recently.
I've had the same password since I started, and its stored in chrome so usually I just press enter on my keyboard and voila, logged in.
Today I've been getting the login failed attempt 1 out of 5 etc.
But yet, If I refresh I'll be logged in, then I'll click a forum, e.g. HTC One X and again I'm logged OUT.
Then I'll click Q n A or General etc, and back logged in.
I'm very worried and don't know whether its XDA issues, or someone changing my password etc?
Any insight appreciated, thanks.
Close this, wrong section was looking for Q n A!!
not hacking related lol...
same happens wid me on forum runner app..
first login attempt failed n m logged out..
probably this is not the right place to report
No, I don't think xda has been hacked.
The day xda will be hacked... Microsoft would have bought linux

This is a post from Android Central member ccw1134:
"So let's set the table here. Facebook Push Notifications are the golden egg that we're all looking for. Well after reading this you can go obsess about something else...finally (I know I will). I have been beyond frustrated with the chaos that has surrounded this subject. I've spent way too many hours reading and reading then reading some more. I am proud to say that I finally cracked the elusive Facebook Push problem.
I switched from Verizon to Sprint last week (work decision) so I went from a Droid Incredible to a EVO 3D. I was hoping that my Push notification would work when I switched since they never had. To my dismay they did not. My daughter went from a BB Curve to the Motorola XPRT and her FB push notifications worked! She always would always say "Dad you're phone's not so Incredible now, is it?" So when I got my EVO 3D and it didn't work I really became obsessed. After comparing settings on both phones and Facebook settings I found the one anomaly. The list of authorized apps within Facebook (Account dropdown>Account Settings>Applications on the right side of the page) on the computer showed "Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones" on hers but not mine. It's so simple yet outside of the box. The key is BlackBerry permissions! I am willing to bet that everyone who has working notifications on Android came from a BlackBerry. Okay onto the good stuff.
- Find someone with a working BlackBerry. This could be a friend or any store that has activated demo phones. - Using the Facebook app on the BB log into your account and wait for your stuff to start appearing. I did not log into email or anything else, just FB. - After you see your Newsfeed updated with your information simply log out. - Go into your FB settings on your Android phone and check the Notifications box. The refresh interval doesn't matter (it can even be set to Never). - Notifications should start appearing as you get them (Comments, Wall Posts, Pokes, Likes, Messages, etc.)
I did notice a couple of things that I hope get improved in the notification process. Messages and Friend Requests have their own separate icons for notifications just as they always have. Comments, Wall Posts, , Tagging, Pokes and Likes all share the new notification icon that you will start seeing. Because of this if someone pokes you and then you get a comment or whatever, your Poke notification is gone (I'm assuming because the FB App doesn't officially support Poking yet therefore it doesn't know how to handle that notification) and won't know who poked you. Also if you should happen to click on the poke notification doesn't take you anywhere useful, just the list of notifications (for the same reasons listed in the previous sentence). This is a small sacrifice for now. If someone tags you in a post (I assume a picture will be the same way) you also will still get an email notification to whatever email you use. Just an FYI on that.
For the record I am on Sprint using a nonrooted HTC EVO 3D running 2.3.3 and Facebook is version 1.6.3. I do not believe the carrier, phone model, OS or Facebook version matter but I know there are those out there who want to know this type of stuff."
I will be trying this out, seems promising according to replies there!
(mods, I wasn't sure if this would be the right place so feel free to move it.)

Nope. I came from BB to Android and while I had notifications working about a month ago with a FB app update (nothing to do with switching from BB to Android), they no longer work and they didn't work when I initially switched over either.
I just checked my account settings and the Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones is still listed there and still has permissions.
Think it is just a coincidence for you.

Well this wasn't me, I have yet to try it. It's a repost of something from Android Central.

I don't know what the difference is but I installed the blacked out Facebook located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200174
And I now receive notifications for the first time. I just installed the apk today so for me it worked and I have no reason to understand, just that I now get notifications. Can someone else confirm with this that they receive notifications?
The only way i got them to work was to create a new fb account.

Sure fire way to fix this:
Deactivate, then immediately reactivate your account. It's kind of a reset button.

Nope, did it last night. Deactivated, then signed back in to reactivate, all from the browser. All your settings, friends, and such stay the same. Now I get every notification.
So you deactivated your whole account from the computer browser? Then reactivated it? No blackberry hoops to jump through.

dam about time!!!
Funny, it didn't work. Then as soon as I opened facebook app , I got a notification. Still no push.

Nope. I had a BlackBerry before my G1, and I still use BlackBerrys occasionally, including Facebook. I have gotten a total of two notifications from Facebook on Android, and it has never worked since.

Are you sure it's all ok? I'm a page administrator too and it's clearly written that I won't get back my administration rights back automaticaly if I deactivate...
i moved the facebook app to the SD card then back to my phone and it seemed to have fixed notifications for me
Wow. So many different fixes it almost seems like coincidence now. I know facebook is free and all and we shouldn't ***** but those guys are getting rich and not really giving anything back. I mean come on? Don't you think somebody that works for them uses android app and can see it sucks?

So just recently I've started getting a sign in error from google. There's a triangle icon in my notifications and if I click on it it says "you have entered the wrong password or your account has changed" I havnt changed my password at all and it still works for my gmail youtube and g+ so idk what this is for but even if I enter my password it says the same thing and the caution triangle won't go away
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda app-developers app
I was getting that this morning, so perhaps it's a server thing? By any chance, did you swap your sim card from one phone to another? I believe that is when I had the issue come up, but not positive
Nope I've had the same sim since I got the phone
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda app-developers app
Ah ok, maybe it was just a passing servor error then. Did yours go away? Somehow I rebooted or something and haven't seen the issue since.
Edit: I spoke too soon, just got the error again, and I'm on my G2, not my SK. Hoped we're not being hacked or something lol
Had the same thing on my Desire HD twice over the last two days. The message won't clear if I enter the correct password, so I have to just clear the notification. All Google apps seem to be working fine. I haven't made any changes recently, besides app updates. Server issue?
Everyone having this issue, did you all install the update to Google Plus the other day? From this thread, people are getting the idea that it may be that app doing this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739757
I probably did. If that is the cause then there is another update in the play store for G+ dated 30/06, which may provide a fix.

As i click between threads here i sometimes get a redirect from browser to w w w .pcerrorfix.net on my pc. Has anyone else had same issue. I blocked it obviously but thought it strange as it never did this before. I making this topic as it happens here in this thread . thx
It's a piece of adware/spyware you have installed on your pc. I suggest running a virus scan on your home machine. (like Microsoft security essentials)

I had an error today funnily enough about not having the security permissions. All I did was start up the xda app. Error didn't stay long enough to note exact wording.
Not had that before.

If someone changed your password, you wouldn't have any access at all. I suspect there is just something wrong with the autentication cookie stored on your computer that is only giving access to certain web pages of XDA.

Hi, I received a kind of weird question from my parents the other day.
My mother used her iPad to search for something on Google (in Safari).
Later my father, using his phone (Galaxy S2), launched Google Search, and noticed her search came up in his own log.
They're quite confused, as am I.
The only thing I can think of is Google logging the IP-address, both using the same wireless network, and Google doing its usual search-sync to my father's device. (I after all have all my queries in Chromium show up on my device, but that is account linked and explicitly allowed)
Anyone able to shed some light on this?

They are logged in with the same account.
If you don't want this to happen then setup your search settings for the account in use to not record any history.
or you can simply not login to google on the ipad and just use google without an account.
They are using two completely different accounts, I thought that was obvious.
