Took apart both my NEXUS1 desktop Dock and Car Dock and tried it on my MYTOUCH 4G.
RESULTS
THE POINT CLOSEST TO VOLUME TOGGLE== 5 VOLT(RED)
THE POINT NEXT TO MICRO USB PORT====GROUND(BLACK)
THE MIDDLE (GREEN WIRE) SETS OFF===== DOCK APP.
(BOTH CAR AND DESK TOP DOCK start only desktop dock app and not car dock app). AND BLUETOOTH DID NOT ACTIVATE.
AND BLUETOOTH IS NOT PICKED-UP BY MYTOUCH 4G.

so the nwxus dock pins wpuld work on a mytouch 4g, just that it dosnt connect with bluetooth... do you know how the green wire acts to make the phone be in dock mode?
Just wondering what the 5 metal spots running down the lower rear right side of the phone are for? A rapid charging dock??
I believe that's the dock charging contacts

Pogopin docking
On a related note... I noticed that the HTC Car Dock does not have the contacts for the pogopin. How does it know to automatically launch Car mode when it's inserted into the dock? Are there embedded magnets or something?

No there's something in the usb cable that triggers it, like an extra lead or something.
The car dock will not use those pins.
The car mode is trigged probably by an resistor between pins 4 and 5 in the USB cable.

I am using a Tab 2 7.0 P3113 with JB AOKP Milestone 1. I just bought a docking station for my tab and it charges it and thats awesome, but the dock has a port for aux to plug a audio cord into it to connect to a speaker system. That capability is not working right now, I have to manually plug it in through the headphone jack. I don't know if it is becuase I am using a custom ROM and not stock, but I am wondering if there an app or modification that I can make to allow the sound to play throught the docks aux port.

Does the N5 have a 11 pin USB connector? If so, do you think it might work with the Samsung Smart Dock accessory? I'm aware that I can use SlimPort to perform a similar function but there is not enough charge current to sustain long usage.

I have nexus 5 and by looking at the USB port it seems like it has only 5 pins and probably there are no pins on the other side of the plastic. Can not tell with 100% confidence unless I open apart my whole phone. But my friend has Galaxy S4 and looking at the top side of the Galaxy S4 I there is a small dent on the top side of the port whereas there is no such dent in Nexus 5 port so it seems that Galaxy S4 port in non standard but Nexus 5 is standard probably only have 5 pins. If this is correctly sadly we can not enjoy features like Samsung Smart Dock on Nexus 5. At the moment I am trying to achieve using Game Pad and Charging the Phone concurrently on Nexus 5 but probably it is not possible may be possible with some special Kernel, there is one such kernel for Nexus 7.
I have a s6. Am after a Samsung smart dock. Does anyone know of the original one works for the s6 ?
Am not bothered about usb ports to connect keyboard etc but would like to connect a set of 3.5 speakers and be compact in size.
I have a kidigi dock but the phone seems to rock about about when plugged in.
