Hi
I have a problem I dropped my phone htc sensation and my touchscreen is acting weird it sometimes works but most of the time there it plays up and doesnt work at all and inaccurate when pressing. The digitiser is not cracked, I have reinstalled roms and callabrated touchscreen but no luck. Could the digitiser be damaged? If so can you point me in the right direction where I can buy one.
Thanks

Ordered some torq screwdrivers so going to take apart and check connections

Something similar happened to my HTC desire after I dropped it, no sign of damage and flashing/calibrating didn't help. In the end I did what you're gonna do and there was a loose connection, which fixed it. Sounds like you're on the right track - good luck mate

same lmao, I also took a look cause I wouldn't mind helping but damn. I don't understand a thing.
First of all, what's your issue? "screen issue" is quite vague and apparently, your only problem is the carousel?
Then you mention screen sensitivity, so what's your problem exactly?
I'm just trying to help. I really don't think many other members will understand what you're trying to ask.. You need to elaborate

So since this issue has been giving me quite a bit of frustration, I have devised a very simple fix that should work for at least a few other people. There was a post in the ARHD thread where it suggested cleaning the connectors and the battery. I was pulling out my battery to give this a try when I realized the battery could be pushed slightly farther down into the housing, allowing for a more solid connection.
What I did was wedge a small piece of business card between the top of the battery housing and the battery itself. This has worked very well for me so far. If anyone else would like to try this and either confirm or deny that it is working for them that would be great.
As requested, pictures have been attached. One shows the items you need, another shows where I placed it against the battery and the other shows it sitting flush in the battery housing. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I found pulling the ground pin out a bit helps, the one that makes contact with the battery cover and can cause touchscreen issues.
I thought the random reboots/shutdowns were a software problem. Because after I flashed this a fix a found the issue stopped. Kinda...

I've tried a lot of the fixed, including underclocking to 1ghz and varying ghz between 1 and 1.5. But this has worked for me, figures I would share. But a lot of phones are different...so what works for me might not work for others. Just thought I would share what worked for me! Plus I think its worth a shot, don't see how it could hurt anything. But this is xda, so at your own risk and all that other stuff.

Can anyone confirm that this works? I saw a thread where someone sent their phone to HTC and they replaced the mother board on warranty and it fixed the problem.
I called HTC and told the problem and they confirmed that they have been receiving lots of complaints and replacing the mother board would fix the problem. I have a month before my warranty is up so maybe ill try this before sending it in.

Digitizer is just a touch sensor... If he has dead pixels he needs to change the whole screen.
Perhaps a cable got loose in the phone. But I wouldn't bet on it.
Anybody know of any other fixes? I really don't want to open this phone
Sent from my Sensation 4G using XDA
Restore the phone to stock and use your warranty? That's what I did when I had a dead pixel.
As a last resort, there are a few more to try, although you've probably tried them all!:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.chris.blackspotdetect
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jscreenfix.android2
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xllusion.app.pixelcurer
I'm skeptical myself, but it's worth a shot.
Let us know how you get on if you find any "Miracle Apps".
Cheers.
i have stuck pixel and use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.chris.blackspotdetect
but my stuck pixel is from when i bought it, not because i drop my phone.
Ive had some luck with using a damp cloth that has been heated in water and put in a plastic bag, I used it to rub some of the pixels back. Its improved alot, not perfect yet but I will keep everyone posted. Also I still have some dark green stuck pixels. Those apps help but not much. Any other suggestions?
Thanks everyone
Hey Guys, I finally got my Sensation back from repair, of course its completely stock now. I sent it to repair because Vibration didn't worked anymore. I thought it could be possibly got cracked by myself applying s-off with junoptobear (i don't have any idea if its correctly written). Do you have any experience with that?

Edit: My Sensation is a Vodafone Germany branded Device with ICS (4.0.3)
different roms have different settings for the vibration feedback, but if your on stock then maybe your phone is still broken? or it works fine now? also make sure haptic / vibrate feedback in settings is checked.
I think you got me wrong, it got repaired and its working now but I don't know how it broke. There are 2 reasons I could think of why vibration broke, the first one is that datrepair (german HTC repair partner) ****ed up the vibration while repairing the cracked screen on my device before it was rooted or myself applying s-off. I don't know if it worked before because I didn't really used the phone before.

I suspect it was the screen repair that caused the issue. I recently went through juopunutbear to S-OFF my replacement/replacement phone. I can't see how that process would have screwed it up.
No. S-off did not break your vibration.

I thought it could've broken the hardware (the wire-trick). I did it like described on one of the pins and the sd casing (I'd say I did nothing wrong because it was s-off after that). So my exact question should be: Could the wire trick possibly damage the vibration motor? I'm sorry that I was not that precise.

the wire trick technically does grounding on that pin ..which takes the phone to download mode for some time after first tap and then back to normal with the next tap..thats all ..i dont see any way that can dmage the vibration motor ...and afaik i havent seen any facing this issue after SOFF
Thats what I wanted to know, thank you, I'll s-off my device again with no fear.

I can confirm 100% that after screen change motor stop work in HTC Sensation. Maybe different part revision, wich i doubt is the case cuz replacement part is working fine and picture is perfect.
What is funny, i try fix this vibration problem after screen change for a few days now, replaced with new on PCB at the end just to see that it isnt workin again
By accident, when i got call i drop phone on table, maby 5cm height drop, and vibration start working for few sec then stop again, and it always go on if i hit phone at time when it should be working.
Still havent found solution to this.

Hi,
No, it's not.
Use your phone all the way until it shuts down. Then remove the battery and the SIM and let it be so over a night; Afterwards, plug your phone in and let it recharge fully, but BEWARE YOU WILL NOT TOUCH THE SCREEN AT ALL IN WHOLE THIS PROCESS!.
Then come and inform us about the result.

I once had something similar cause of one app going crazy.
Did you try to boot in safe mode. And see how the system behaves?
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
I've tried many many things, I booted into 4ext recovery, the screen was acting the same, just like someone is touching the screen randomly, last night I've formatted everything and installed a stock rom using an RUU.... (RUU-Pyramid-ICS-hTC-Europe-3.33.401.53-Radio-11.76A.3504.00U-11.24A.3504.31-M-release-280871-signed.exe) and the system still acting exactly the same way... I'm wondering if there's some humidity between the gorilla glass and the LCD screen... I've put the phone face down to my PC's cooler fan during the whole night... nothing changed.. now the screen is under the sun.. maybe that could solve this stupid issue...
If you think there is some humidity in the phone. best to dry is to use normal dry cooking rice.
Take a big plastik box, put the rice in. lay the phone on the rice and close the box. leave it at least 12 hours.
The rice will get all water out.
If you like you can warm the rice before you put the phone on by 15 sec. in the microwave, so just to get the rice a bit warm about 40°C
For safe Mode of the sensation look here:
