[Q] HTC ONE X screen unglued issue - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hey,
Does anybody have the same issue? You can see the video:
hxxp://youtube.com/watch?v=yEad7mHQcLM&feature=youtu.be (change hxxp, with http)
This is my second HTC One X with the same issue. Glass got unglued on the bottom left corner. Now it pops everytime I press it. They replaced the first one but I got the same problem on the second one. Is this just my bad luck or many of you have the same issue? What did you do?
I don't wan't to wait for a month to get it repaired. Do you think I can repair it by myself?
I'm using the European version.
Thank you for your help. I really like HOX, but this problem really makes me angry.

mine is like that i just put it in a case

Honestly I've never heard of that problem before. But next time please post questions in the QA section instead of the general section.

[Q] HTC sensation back cover not tightly closed

Hello,
My very first thread so go easy on me.
I got a HTC sensation about a month ago and the moment I started using it I noticed that when I click or push on the bottom right of the phone (near the search button) there is kinda ticking like the phone isn't tightly closed(but it is closed..it's kinda moving) dunno how to describe it, I was wondering if it is normal or not, I might be paranoid lol
Also when I click (but strongly) on the bottom right of the screen it does the same like when u push a LCD screen but that doesnt happen anywhere else on the screen.
I have started a thread on this same topic lol
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1258130
I have now noticed it comes and goes it was doing it now its not so i really dont know what to say
Hmmm in my case it doesn't come and go, it's there since I got the mobile, I got waranty for1 year so I am gonna check if they will accept to replace the phone or at least fix it, but that would be after like 2 month cuz I didn't buy the phone from here.
there is a temporary fix floating aroound here somewhere. all they did really was put a post it note on the corner where you here the clickin. try searchin for it.
as for me it does the same thing since i bought it. but its not really that bad and dont really notice it to tell you the truth. i m just wondering if this problem varies among hand sets. as in if its worse for some and not noticeable for others

It may be Your first thread but not the first thread on this subject...bit of advice - would suggest you do a bit of searching first
Anyhow - I posted this in response to thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1258130
Just call HTC and tell them the problem, they will send you a replacement back cover for free as long as you send the old one. I just did it and my phone has no more of that ticking or crackling sound at the bottom. Try calling instead of doing an easy fix. U might as well usr ur warranty right?

[Q] Wildfire S (new) digitizer problem. Can you help me?

Hello everybody,
I've read a lot of threads here but none could solve my problem... My sister dropped her Wildfire S and the digitizer (the glass) broke in several pieces. Even though they were still in place, only the bottom right corner would respond to the touch, so I ordered a new digitizer on ebay and installed it but it worked only in that specific corner... so I found a fix in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21203638 (launching a calibration app via hboot using a goldcard) and the digitizer then began to work (but with many problems) just on the left and the right of the screen, the center was dead. So I asked the seller a new digitizer and it worked on the left and right too, like the previous one, but more flawlessly. I reused that fix and now the digitizer is working perfectly but just on 3/4 - 4/5 of the screen! the extreme left is dead, so I can't press the Shift button on my keyboard + a couple buttons right there... I'm now supposing that the digitizer is not faulty since the center didn't work and started to as I used that fix... I've also put a cyanogen rom on the phone but it's still as it was previously... Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance and sorry if I misspelled something

So do you think I should send them the phone with the new digitizer installed?
Where did you buy the phone?

In a mobile phone shop... do you think they'll trust me if I just tell them it's not working? btw, I'd like to find a better solution... my intention is to fix this digitizer
I took back my Galaxy i5500 5 times in 10 months, it was rooted and had I had Cyanogenmod installed on it. I soft bricked it 4 of them times (The first time was shock damage, but the man behind the counter said my device was great and he really liked the appearance and customization of Cyanogenmod and even asked me for the XDA URL).
Just take it back, say it's stopped working, worst thing that can happen is they'll send it back saying it hasn't been fixed as you've tampered with it.
Good luck,
Curtis.

Returning the One X?

This is my second One X the first one I got had a problem with the top half of the touch screen, it wouldn't respond to touch, so I swapped it out.
Now my second one has a very bad light leak on the bottom and phone calls can become muffled and even drop. I've already tried factory resetting the phone with no luck.
My question is, even though I already exchanged it once can I still go to the store and exchange it again or is it a one time thing?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I think if there are problems with the phone you can return it until you get one that doesn't have those issues. I'm pretty sure the one time return is if you bring back a phone and get a different one. They won't let you keep doing that.

6th replacement device. Got AT&T to send me a GS3

I cant believe I went through 6 devices.
The first 4 had the same problem. Old text messages would send themselves to the last 2 people I texted, at random. 4 in the afternoon or 3 in the morning. I was annoying my friends all the time. 5th device came with damage (stuck power button would turn the phone off by itself)
Last device, the one im using now is stuck in landscape for no apparent reason. Dock mode is on and I cant turn it off. Something is making my phone think its on. Called AT&T, complained, told them about how many devices ive been through. Initially got denied, asked to speak to a manager. Got denied again, they offered a year-early upgrade for no charge, but I denied that. After about 30 minutes of back and forth, they decied to send me a blue GS3 that should be here this week
The phone has been good to me when it worked, but Im tired of getting replacements.
Lol, I bet you have problems with the gs3 too.

This, clearly
So if you are moving to a new device then this thread is pointless? I mean we are here to talk about the one xl, not who's getting what phone.

Aside from the stuck power button (which is just a hardware problem)... maybe it's a bugged program (or virus attachment) that you keep installing on your new devices? What happens if you DON'T install your usual programs on your latest device? Try it out for a week, and then you can start to pinpoint the rogue application. Don't use your phone to connect to any email either, and then you can narrow down if it's an application or data problem.

Exactly. The problem the first four "phones" had was almost undoubtedly NOT a hardware problem, and I'm amazed and dismayed that you got them to replace your phone (dismayed because that cost gets passed on to everyone else, AND the more people do this the less likely people with legitimate problems are going to get their problems addressed... boy cries wolf syndrome, if you will)
When my GS II was randomly shutting down they made me try a phone with NO apps installed other than what came pre-installed, for a week to eliminate app issues. And because I was desperate, I did.
I have had the text issue when texting people on T-Mobile. Only certain people on T-Mobile. Theirs would come to me several times, or mine would go to them duplicated or delayed and they would get like 5 at once. Never did figure out the cause, it just stopped on its own. This was a few years ago, though. In this case I would expect some app on your phone. The XDA does this thing that if I post an image on the forum, like an hour later I get a toast that my reply was successful, and find it duplicated my post.

I'm currently on my 4th One X replacement device. The first three replacements and the original had screen flex issues along the side, and in the middle. One of the replacements had a faulty power button. They offered a make/model change for free, and that meant instead of continually sending the White One X, they sent the Grey. It was either that, or DOWNGRADE to a cheaper phone.
Needless to say... The 4th one still has these issues. But I'm tired of dealing with AT&T because it really hasn't been resolved. I could keep complaining, and eventually if it gets worse I will.

Sounds like they are sending you crappy refurbs.. mine had the screen flex in the top right, it fixed itself, but now the casing creaks a bit, other than that... mine is fine, but I got it new.. second one..
Replaced the first (bought new) cause WiFi didn't work

Yup. They sure do keep sending me crappy refurbs. Kinda ticks me off, but what else could I do? Not much. They refuse to budge.

My first HOXL had the same screen problem. Went to one att store, explained the problem and they turned me away. Went to another store nearby, explained the problem, and they went into the back and got me a brand new one no questions asked. Just try different stores, maybe you'll get lucky like me.
(By the way this was in the summer before it was banned for a while ago I don't know if the policy is different with the phone now)

I dont understand how this can happen, lmao.
Never had I known anyone have such problems with their smartphone or had experiences like that.
And 6 devices? Damn, you must be INCREDIBLY unlucky, or youre doing something wrong, idk.

or, if you only want to hit one place, google the nearest att Device Support Center. if it isn't too far of a drive, i can't imagine they'll ever turn anyone away. their primary function is to fix or replace your phone (if it's within the 1 yr mfr warranty). no receipt needed... they'll bring up your account. (don't give them a device that's been visibly tampered -- revert back to stock, etc)

You can't exchange for a new phone in-store beyond the first 30 days. After that, you go through warranty and its all refurbs. As previously mentioned, you can go to that a Device Support Center, but they will still be refurbs, but at least you can test them out before leaving the place.
Multiple defective refurbs are common, and even the same issue. But the 4 in a row with the exact same text issue is odd, if not suspicious. Are you migrating any backed up data like SMS? Might even be a network related problem.
Ironic user name is ironic.
I have never had issues with this phone.. something is up..

[Q] Dead horizontal band

Seems like the international HOX section has quite a few threads about horizontal dead bands on the screen, just above the keyboard. Frankly, it was driving me nuts!
Before I hit my local AT&T store to try to get a replacement, I wanted to check if anyone else is having a similar experience with the One XL. Am I correct in thinking this is a hardware problem?
never heard of it being a software problem. If you enter bootloader screen and still have it then it should rule out ROM or kernel fault. So maybe it's hardware
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I had the same issue in the same spot. Att replaced mine. It was def hardware not software cause it was still there after an ruu.
Sent from my HTC One XL
Thanks for confirming my suspicions, guys! :good: Of course, I was going to hit my local AT&T today to get it exchanged, but when I do the line test it works fine. Go figure.
Does anyone know how to save a screen cap of the line test? Seems like the volume-/power button doesn't do anything.
