I went to the motorola and this is what it said about the sd card
Insert your microSD card
Remove the microSD Card Slot tray located on the back of the device.
Remove dummy microSD Card and insert your microSD card in the same slot.
Insert the microSD card slot tray
Do I have to buy a sd card
Thank You
Yes. You need to supply your own card. A 32g card works well in my Xoom.

No, you have to format the microSD on a PC, no options are provided from the OS to do so.

I am not to computer saavy can you give me a description what I have to do now I got a 32sd card today.
Thanks
If you have a microSD reader, plug it into your PC and format it as FAT32...that's all there is to it. You may be able to do it through the Xoom over USB (as in plug your Xoom into your PC with the SD card in your Xoom), but I can't confirm that. You definitely don't want to format the Xoom itself though.
Once I do this, where well the sd card show up? I wish there was a file explorer built into the xoom

it will show up mounted in /mnt/external1
/sdcard or /mnt/sdcard is for the internal memory.

OK so I use Astro, and Androzip, and for some reason I can't get my Xoom to recognize the Sd card. I can access it through windows, but not at all through the Xoom. Is this just because I took the card straight from my phone and put it in the tablet without formatting it? Thanks

Hi
I have a verbatim 8GB sd card that got into RAW after a bad shutdown of my xperia x8(I think)
well i managed to get it back working to fat32 but now my phone does't recognize it, only the pc sees it so is there any solution to fix this?(NOTE: other cards are recognized so it isn't my phone's fault)

Logcat?
Edit: this is just to rule out other possibilities, other than the card not mounting...
I am trying to move everything from one SD card to another one. I figured using the computer would be the quickest approach vs trying to use the tablet.
However, the original SD card won't mount on the computer. It says it needs to be formatted. So now I'm not sure the best approach. I'm sure I'll figure something out before I get an answer here since I don't have the patience to wait , but would like the answer for future reference.
There are a few threads on sd cards but didn't find a good answer.

So they are SD not Micro SD. What brand card reader do you have?
Do you have Kies on your Win7 Computer? I had some issues with sandisk memory when kies was running so I uninstalled it and everything is now fine.

MicroSD. I had enough memory in the tablet that I just ended up copying the data from the original card into memory and then swapping cards. It appears the problem was a defective microSD adapter card. Used a new adapter card and it worked. Ugh.
I just got a new 64g SD card. If I boot my phone into twrp an mount SD card then on pc drag all files off SD card then unmount an pit in my new SD card an mount that then pull all files back over so everything work the same as it did since I have important files on my SD card for my phone? Or is there a easier way fig I would like tho this out before I do it since I have never upgrade SD card before.

Yes. If you have a dedicated card-reader for your PC then it will almost certainly be quicker for transfering the files than using your phone in the middle.

g8.close thread.
What phone are you actually using? If you're trying to transfer files from your PC to your Phone, by using its USB cable should make the work easily done. But if its an older phone, a card reader is the best option that you can get. Just in case that you are using a smartphone that kinda latest or even not quite latest, you can try using AirMore. Its an app that you can use to wirelessly transfer your files from phone to PC and vice versa.

I bought a micro sd 64gb class 10, when I plug in my s2 + (i9105P) is recognized, but when I do get damaged photos, and if I move the app in extsdcard restart the device are removed. Why?

Try to format it through you phone or through a PC.
You must know that you'll loose everything on the extsdcard when you format it!!!

Maybe our phone's support is only to 32GB
Our phone supports 64gb. I've got an i9105p and a 64gb scandisk microsd class "u1" and it works pretty well on cm 11 build #7. On build #8 my phone doesn't recognize the sdcard, either.

Put your card in a card reader and test it with H2testw http://www.heise.de/download/h2testw.html. You might have a defective or fake card. There's also the possibility that it doesn't follow the SD card specs 100%, and may be incompatible with your phone.
