Text message solutions - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey guys, one of the things I was looking most forward to with the JB update was to have quick reply to text message capability in the notifications. I'm stock not rooted, obviously I was wrong to think we were getting this functionality. My question is this.. Is there an app that will allow me to quick reply to text messages from the notification pull down? Without rooting? This is a small feature I know, but it is something that would very useful to me. Appreciate any feedback.

I don't think there is one to allow you to reply from the notification pull down, but Go sms has a quick reply notification feature.

Pop-up notifications.

I have looked and looked.
Is there anything that makes all notifications pop-up? I know its what people hate about the iPhone, but I like it for some apps. If there is anything out there just point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

You could use sms popup for text messages. It's similar to how messages show up on the iPhone.

The problem with that is it only deals with text messages. And I use Google voice. I want it for all notifications. But I guess there isn't anything at the moment.

You can use BugMe for custom alarms.
Tasker likely can create popups for notifications, but I have not done this.

Go SMS

Can anyone tell me if they are able to get the quick reply popup to show on the lockscreen using Go SMS? I get it to wake the phone but it stays locked and doesn't show me the quick reply box. When I unlock the quick reply box is there. I want it to appear on the lockscreen like it did with Handcent.
Not with me either.

Dang that kinda stinks. Oh well there is an option to have it unlock the phone when you get a new text. But hell I FINALLY got MMS to work on 2.3.4 builds for CM7 so now I'm on latest nightly, have netflix working AND MMS working finally. I'll deal with this "annoyance" I guess.
Ill find a way haha

I sent creators a message requesting the feature so all we can do is hope. I actually love the UI more than Handcent so hopefully they can fix this.

Subscribe to it, go into the settings and check "Receive Notification".

[Q] Archive gmail from notification?

I used to have this feature using PA, but now I don't in Carbon.
It should still be there, right? What happened to it?

Gmail app has the ability to tap Archive and I think Reply right from the notification. How do I get it back?

I believe that is due to jb's expandable notifications. You should be able to go into either status bar or notification settings and choose the "always expand" option. That will enable your notifications to always be expanded which will show you these options. Alternatively, you can swipe down on the notification with two fingers and it will expand it for you.

Awesome. Thanks! Didn't know about the swipe. I set it back to always expand and it's back how I like it.

Notifications are on even though they've been turned off

Ok, so I'm on stock nexus 5.
I have turned off notifications in my apps, but I still keep getting them. It's annoying me. Anybody know why? For instance, living social and fandango keep having notifications pop up and I can't figure out why.

Are you disabling the notifications in each specific app itself?
What I do, is go to Settings > Apps > Click on the app in Question, un-check the Show Notifications box and I am usually good to go.
Wow, thanks. I didn't know you had to do it that way. I was just disabling in the app itself.

Hey, right on! Glad you got it working good!
You can also long-click the notification itself and disable notifications from the offending app right there. Saves some trouble.
