Lol I would take out your number. Some trolls might prank you on your Google voice.
Anyways, what does your General settings look like, make sure you have SMS to mobile unchecked.

Lol I think that's your Google voice number, well that's where my Google voice number shows.
You should be able to start a new conversation and reply to received texts. If you have a text plan with your mobile number, send test messages to google voice from it or vice versa. That's how I did it.

Text message solutions

Hey guys, one of the things I was looking most forward to with the JB update was to have quick reply to text message capability in the notifications. I'm stock not rooted, obviously I was wrong to think we were getting this functionality. My question is this.. Is there an app that will allow me to quick reply to text messages from the notification pull down? Without rooting? This is a small feature I know, but it is something that would very useful to me. Appreciate any feedback.

I don't think there is one to allow you to reply from the notification pull down, but Go sms has a quick reply notification feature.

Stop "new email" announcment?

Hello,
I got the JB update and now whenever I get a new email it loudly announces "new email". I'm sure it is obvious but I don't see where to shut that off.
Not sure if it is related but I also don't want it say "phonecall from 1-800-555-1212" or whatever number I'm getting a call from.
Thanks

Hello,
I'm using Exchange, so it looks slightly different - but from your picture I'm not sure what you are saying - should I uncheck something or check something?

Thanks - so does anyone know how to turn off the verbal announcement that you have new email? I don't want my phone to say anything when I get an email. I have the sound notification for just a ping sound for new email but what I get is "1 NEW EMAIL".

Thanks - you are correct.
I've never noticed driving mode before but turning that off solved it.
For anyone looking for it,
1 slide your finger down from the top of your screen to get to your airplane mode, Bluetooth, GPS and other settings,
2 slide to the right and you'll find the driving mode option.
3 press it to turn on and off - off if you don't want the announcement.

SMS App

Hello,
I have checked every forums and no topic has been made about it. Are there any SMS apps for this phone that tell you when the recipient saw your texts? Thanks.

Req messaging app???

Is there a messaging app the would give a real time alert (stated "typing") when in text conversation to notify you that the other person is responding to your message. Any help or thought and ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Yeah but that's an app where both parties need to have that installed where I am looking for more of an sms app. How does that app even work and forgive my silly questions
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Hmm, idk if the facebook messenger app does that, u can use it to text people and both parties don't need it
Sent from my SCH-1535 using Tapatalk 4
I use whatsapp and it does that. Possibly one of the best messaging apps there is. Both parties need it, and it is a dollar, but you can use wifi and it is rock solid stable. One of the best purchases I've made in the play store.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
yeah you are only going to get that functionality when both parties are using the same app. And it would have to be a messenger/chat type app not a strictly sms/mms type app
