Hi all
i just bought a HTC inspire 4g with cracked screen from ebay. I also bought the screen replecament as well. Phone turns on and charges fine, even the cracked screen is responsive. The seller before sent it to me: tried to unlock pattern unlock many times and now phone is asking for email and password to be unlocked. So I tried hard resetting using VOL+pwr button cambo, there is no luck doing it, ( I did it right and tried many times) it seems like volume buttons dont work. IS THERE any other method you could think of resetting this device, OTherwise it is a junk..
I need your help please

Is the phone S-OFF? if you can access fastboot, just flash the at&t ruu from scratch and that should solve the issue.
Please post in the correct section

I wasn't even trying to s-off, root, or do anything like that.
I was just on the market downloading a game, then all of a sudden my phone just hanged.. it had a grey screen, and the four capacitive buttons were lit up. there was no response for like 10 mins so I took out the battery.
Now whenever I try to turn it on, it just gets stuck at the HTC screen.
I tried restarting with volume down, but i didn't know what to do there, nothing seemed to help.
can anyone tell me what i can do??
i gave up and tried to do a factory reset.. but even that doesn't work! it gets stuck on that screen and nothing moves...
i dont get it.. my phone has been fine for 2-3 months, the first time it crashes and this happens... and i havent even attempted to s-off or root!!!
Well, i had this issue, but a battery pull solved it.......... good news for you is that you didn't S-OFF or ROOT it, so you can easily get it replaced.
yeah.. I went to other forums to search about this problem, and to my surprise, I saw that lots of people with Desire S has had this problem.
It mostly happened to people who were in the middle of updating apps in the market. The phone doesnt boot pass the HTC white screen, and factory reset doesn't work.
I will probably have to be without my phone for a week.. sigh.. it's going to be torture

Are you rooted, running a custom ROM or using a custom Kernel?
If not this seriously is a known issue usually because the Sensation is underclocked to 1.2ghz causing sleep/wake issues. Usually fixed by adjustable sleep settings when rooted.
But if you're not rooted then maybe someone else here can provide more indepth answers/help for you. Goodluck!

Hello,
My htc chacha worked almost pefectly within its warranty period. But after that,it started with it's touch screen not responding well. Now it has come to the extend that, the ring that is needed to be pulled up to unlock the screen is also not working. The unlock ring is kind of flickering when attempted to be pulled up. I can't even see the phone main menu! Guys please help me out here.
Regards.
got the same problem... please help
It is most probably a hardware issue. You need to replace touch screen digitizer. The same thing happened to me. The top half of the screen didn't respond to touch.
Thnx a lot. But do u think unlocking the boot loader will help in any way? And there's an another issue, when I attempt to check for updates online, it says that my phone is up to date, whereas my phone's Android version is 2.3.3 ????
Hey pal,,online update dont change the rom-it updates your software version,,,u have to change your rom to 2.3.5

It don't seem to be a software problem... check your Touch Cable and if your problem also continue, maybe you should change your Touch Screen.

I'm currently locked out of my phone with no way that I know of to get back into it. I'm not sure exactly what happened - I must have 'pocket unlocked' it and bumped it against my leg enough times to where it's stuck on the screen asking for my Google account info. (It says I entered my pattern incorrectly too many times.)
This wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the fact that I didn't have WiFi or mobile data enabled at the time. Because of that, it can't send my information.
The only solution I've heard so far is to do a factory reset, which I really don't want to do. I've got loads of pictures and other things on it that I can't sync to my computer at the moment, and there's no way I'm losing those.
Does anyone here have an alternative solution? If so, please tell. This is urgent.

Nope.. factory reset unless you have twrp... If you can access twrp then you simply need to plug it in and mount usb..
Short of that you are out of luck. Even HTC will tell you to factory reset in bootloader

Hello,
I have an HTC U11, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and for unknown reason it displays this message: Android System.UI has stoppedn working. I tried factory restet, I cleared cache partition, I installed a new kernel (cleanslate). It comes back to normal after I reboot the device (I cannot do anything on it because nothing will work)
Hello, I'm experiencing the same error. I thought it's from some app that I installed but it's not. It does crash about at least once a day. The screen just blinks on and off in the lock screen if I try to turn it on.
The only solution is to soft reset it.

Maybe you have damaged phones? I know that when my phone fell on the top left edge and screen cracked, also SIM was affected. It works but only without PIN code. If I have pin code I get system UI errors, cannot use the device at all.

Same issue here, occurs one in a week, since I realize hard reset, not happen again.
Simply can't unlocked the phone, lock screen blinks, and the only solution is soft reset, I hope this not happen again.
Hi,
I have the same issue - it's been happening once a week for a few months now - the screen is blinking and the only way to "fix" it (temporarily) is to [soft] reset the phone. The error I get (when I can see it) is what the OP mentioned.
I too thought that it might be one of my apps but it's been happening even after I disabled a few apps.
I haven't ever dropped my phone...
Could it be a hardware issue (my phone is still under warranty with my company)?
Has anybody tried a hard reset?
Cheers
