[Q] Just got Phone Need Advice!

ok So I just got my gx2 and i flashed it with NVFlash and got the clockwork boot installed. I did a back up of the original OS 2.3.3
My Question is this. Do i need to root it inorder to be able to install CM7 on it. Or can I get a prerooted 2.3.3 from somewhere?
Thank you for your help.
CM7 is already rooted, flash it via clockworkmod and Voila you have a rooted device. No root needed to flash things, just clockworkmod.

[Q] Will ota update overwrites my root and custom recovery

I have stock htc sensation s-off rooted and flashed custom recovery but is still have....... shipped stock rom would the update install and will it wipe out everything
it will not apply the OTA update bcoz OTA needs original recovery, it wont work on custom recovery
I tried it with an old ROM, an it stuck on the first reboot with an attention-symbol.
After restarting it again it was the old ROM - so nothing happens.

Use AutoRec. It will downgrade your bootloader to be able to flash recovery.
Same issue here
Flashing it back to jellybean worked for me! Thank you again Xda !

[Q] Need help upgrading Boost Mobile Moto G to 4.4.4

I have a Boost Mobile Moto G running stock 4.4.2 rooted with CWM recovery. I would like to know how to upgrade it to 4.4.4 with root but I am not sure what to flash next or to make a nandroid backup. Should I install stock recovery and install the update or flash some zip for recovery.

If you want to remain with stock ROM, make a nandroid backup, flash stock recovery and do an update. Re-root and re-flash CWM after if you wish.
Alternatively, try an alternative ROM like CM11, Omni, PA etc. You can use CWM recovery to simply flash your new rom (after full wipe). Don't forget to take a nandroid backup AND a data backup of contacts, all app-data, sms/mms, bookmarks etc with apps like Titanium, MyBackup or Carbon/Helium.
This is what you can do
Step 1: download the update on your stock 4.4.2 rom.
Step 2: plug your phone into your computer and reboot to fastboot mode 3: pretend your flashing stock firmware (no u won't loose any data or have to reset)
Step 4: flash everything in order BUT*** exclude mfastboot erase userdata and mfastboot erase cache.
Step 5: after u exclude those 2 commands reboot your phone using mfastboot reboot
Step 6 your phone will reboot however any tweaks, modifications, and anything involving root will be disabled temporarily since u basically reverted back to stock without fully factory reseting.
Step 7: Go to settings and install your update (itll take about 10-15) minutes
Step 8: once its done go back to fastboot mode reflash your recovery and your root and reboot and your good to go ull be on 4.4.4 rooted and stock recovery
Side Note : Making a 4.4.2 back up is useless because after u upgrade you can't downgrade
Im on 4.4.4 XT1031 Boostmobile
Custom Recovery (TWRP) and rooted
Sent from my XT1031 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No M10 snapshot yet
I also might install CM11 but there is no M10 snapshot, so thats why i'm on stock until the latest M snapshot is released for it.

[Q] Help! Huawei U8800 Bootlooping on 2.3.5 Official Rom after many attempts to fix

Hey guys, I Know this phone is old but please help me
I was using official 2.3.5 ROM and it was getting old so I thought to root and install an ICS Rom so i rooted and installed MIUi ICS ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029969) it was really nice and i thought to install Aurora Rom(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1492957) and it was Awsome! so i got into installing new ROMs and i was installing new ROMs almost every week and one day i saw CM 11 KitKat ROM for Huawei U8800 and I wanted to install it but before that i had to install Ble-Part Partition (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2615712) i flashed it succesfully and i installed the 2.2 version after that i flashed CWM 6.0.4.6 and i installed KitKat CM11 without any problems!
After some time using it for some time i thought to go back to Aurora as CM 11 was a little buggy and Aurora was the most stable ROM but as i was installing Aurora, i accidently formatted Boot instead of formatting System and without realizing it i flashe Aurora which flashed very quickly rather unexpectedely, and when i rebooted a blue screen appeared. I (surprised) installed official 2.3.5 ROM via dload and when it had installed the phone went into bootloop and i performed a factory data reset and it booted normally. But when i rebooted the phone again again it went to bootloop again. So i installed official 2.2 ROM and it installed succesfully and it never bootlooped in 2.2 ROM. But i wanted to install Aurora but it needs a .35 kernel and whenever i install 2.3.5 it keeps on bootlooping and i cant root it, though i can root 2.2 ROM easily and install .32 ROMs but they are quite old and I want to install ICS, JellyBean or KitKat Rom, which unfortunately i cant
Just in case you would be wondering i have tried many methods to go back to stock partition and none of them works and i have 1.8 GB storage! I have read that distorted partition can cause bootloops on 2.3.5 ROM so if anyone can help me to fix this problem, ill be very grateful as this is a very important phone to me!
And if you have any questions please ask!
