[Q] Just got Phone Need Advice! - T-Mobile LG G2x

ok So I just got my gx2 and i flashed it with NVFlash and got the clockwork boot installed. I did a back up of the original OS 2.3.3
My Question is this. Do i need to root it inorder to be able to install CM7 on it. Or can I get a prerooted 2.3.3 from somewhere?
Thank you for your help.

CM7 is already rooted, flash it via clockworkmod and Voila you have a rooted device. No root needed to flash things, just clockworkmod.

cm6 to blackend e4g 0.0.1a 2.3.3 lost root and access to cwm recovery

Have an evo 4g recently flashed blackend e4g 0.0.1a [2.3.3] . I had CM6 running strong and was able to flash CM7 OMGB Fresh and a bunch more. After flashing blackend I lost root access . I can't get into recovery manually or through rom manager. I tried to reroot using revolutionary method for 2.3.3 and it tells me my hboot version is not supported [ hboot version 0.93.0000 ] Simply put stuck like chuck. Searched google and this forum hope I landed in the right place thanks.
Using CWM recovery android 2.3.3 Baseband version 2.15.00.07.28 kernel version 2.6.35.10-g13578ee build 4.53.651.1 cl133994 release-keys
Lost root
I am having the same problem. With blackened. When I go to titanium backup, I am told the app will not work on a phone that is not rooted. Also when I tried to flash a recovery from rom manager nothing happens it just stalls.
Any help would be appreciated.

[Q] I need some answers about Nexus S

So I bought Nexus S from second hand recently mostly because it will get official ICS support from Google.
So because it's second hand buy, I really don't know if I'm using original bootloader, kernel, radio etc.
It's rooted (because I have Superuser app), I think it has stock 2.3.6 android (build number GRK39F) and kernel version 2.6.35.7-gf5f63ef, [email protected]#1.
Can someone who use stock android and original kernels confrime to me that this is right version?
I really want to update to ICS using incremental update which I found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445635) but I'm affraid to don't screw something because of bad experience when I radio bricked my desire
Can I update it to ICS or I need to do unroot or something?
Just download the correct stock ICS rom for your device (if it is I9020T or I9023) ,put it on the SD root and then flash it using the stock or CWM recovery and be done with it (if you need the ICS)
most likely you won't be update by OTA because you are rooted (system file verification will fail)
just download stock ICS ROM and flash it ...
Ota will install fine if its a stock rom with just root. The update script basically checks that everything that should be there is there . If there is something else in there like su it don't matter.
flashing a new rom is the best way to go if you have cwm installed already
I succesfuly flashed ICS and first impressions are very good.
But I think I lost recovery...

flash a CWM recovery via adb , or there is TWRP recovery in DEV section , which is very good .

[Q] How get Lates Version CWM recovery ?

Hi guys anyone can help me get the latest version Clockwordmod recovery for the rooting process? Please help, thanks ..
well if i understand your ? your looking to root your phone ? correct? if so you will need to root your phone first once your phone is rooted you can download rommanager from android market and it will download the latest avalible clockworkmod recovery to your device
any ? just inbox me
just look for a guide on how to root like the guy above said. what phone do you have? you may also want to look at TWRP as your recovery manager. i was having some issues with clockwork with my evo3d, so i decided to gove TWRP a try. when it comes to clockwork, be careful about the newest version. for some reason my 3d refused to work with anything later than CW 4.0.4 or something like that... odd anyway just makesure you can reflash the old version if you update
If you are trying to port CWM to your device, you can just get CyanogenMod source code from github. It contains the latest CWM source.

[Q] Stock Recovery Problemsim

im having problems with my asus transformer b90. i was rooted and just running stock but all of a sudden i lost root (i rooted with razorclaw) my stock recovery is also not working, i turn it into the recovery, then the android shows up with the cogs, but soon after the screen turns into an android with a caution sign. any help or suggestions on what to do?
Did you update firmware? That might explain why you lost root.
As for "Stock recovery" what are you trying to do? The stock recovery
doesn't do much except scan for an "update" and apply it.
I finally got root back using the nachoroot method and i installed cwm so no more stock recovery. By the way i was trying to use the stock recovery to downgrade to .19 to try and root with razorclaw. thank you

stock recovery image file needed
Hi, needing a bit of help here to restore stock recovery on my Sensation so I can catch OTA ICS update from Three uk. Phone is rooted with revolutionary custom recovery. I need a copy of image file for my software version: 1.45.771.5 so I can use Android Recovery Manager.
All help greatly appreciated!!!!
Any stock recovery should do the job, it doesn't matter whether it's from a 3 ROM or not.
Can your not stick the OTA .zip on your SD card and flash it via the custom recovery, though? I've done that via CWM on a couple of other phones.
Thanks for the reply Rusty, unfortunately had no luck using both methods you suggest, must be doing something wrong
