I read an article couple months ago about a USB audio dock accessory that Asus was going to release for the Transformer series. The article even had a picture of a prototype dock with B&O speakers. One of the new features of Jelly Bean is native support for USB audio. Has anyone heard anything about the dock, or do you think they're just going to scrap the project?

Edit : Found a web shop who claims to have it by 20.01.2013, (http://goo.gl/LnPqv)
Yep. I'm so going to order one when it comes out.

Does this mean that USB sound will work? I havent even checked if USB Sound works now tho It would be nice to be able to connect to my speakers with USB instead of Bluetooth indeed

The Asus Transformer has a very quiet headphone out on it.
Anyone know if this is a software thing or hardware?
It's a bit of a disappointment as it stands as my phone is my main music player..
Am i missing something, or is there only a headphone jack on the docking station (which I dont have yet)?

It has a mic/headphone combo Jack. Anyway, I'd really like to hear other opinions on this.

No problems here. Either your pad is faulty, your headphones aren't working right, you are half deaf without realising, or you've yet to turn the independant volume slider up for headphones to a suitable level in the settings.
Hi all, new to these forums and trying to figure out some information on the xoom and its "interesting" HDMI out. With my friend's transformer on mini HDMI out, he is able to output full audio to our receiver without issues. I cannot do the same with this tablet and the micro HDMI to HDMI cable I have. It outputs tinny 2ch audio only.
I also tried it on four other receivers at the local fry's. Same deal... I therefore figured it is either an issue with the cable I bought or the xoom itself. It would be great to get this working for videos and the like, but the real deal is something far greater: playing angry birds in an earth shattering, bass powered 100" home theater slaughter.
Thanks for reading!

Well the quick way to narrow it down wuld be to try his trasnformer with your cable, or your xoom with his cable. My guess is that its probably the cable, cause I'm pretty sure we hooked a xoom up to the conferece room audio at work and it was incredibly loud bass and all...out of the blue, had the whole office wondering what was going on.

was that via HDMI or the 3.5mm jack on the top?
I would but unfortunately the xoom uses micro and the transformer uses mini. I ordered the official Motorola micro HDMI cable since it was $4 from amazon... if that doesn't work it has to be the xoom. Four high end receivers wouldn't give the same result like that. :-\

Please let us know, if it's the cable, ill buy the moto official one, otherwise I'll just continue to be annoyed with it not working.

Not sure if this could be the problem, but I have been unable to play 5.1 encoded videos on the Xoom. Any videos with 5.1 audio play at fast forward speed.

Well I just tried the HDMI cable and same result. Trash audio. I noticed the sub is putting out the tiniest amount of bass if I Max out the sub... but then I switch to the transformer and it absolutely bleeds bass. Its something in the xoom... I'm disappointed.

Hi all,
I had posted a response in the other HDMI thread but think here may make more sense and even help some of you out. I use my Xoom with the Motorola micro HDMI to HDMI cable going from the Xoom straight into my Dell 21.5" HD monitor from the monitor i use the 3.5mm Audio out port straight into my powered JBL sub woofer which is also connected to 4 JBL speakers. I am getting a full and rich sound stage and for some shows or movies i actually need to turn the Bass down i hope this helps some of you figure out what can or can't be done using a HDMI cable and especially the Motorola cable which whilst it may not be the cheapest option at least for me is giving great results.
Marc
Yes... I have used that as well. It does work, but that does not excuse Motorola from making the HDMI work as it should. I don't always have a 3.5mm Jack to plug into. :-\

@what9000
Sorry I'm a little confused by your post as surely the point is the Motorola micro HDMI to HDMI cable is working as it should as I'm not plugging the 3.5m jack into the Xoom but my monitor so if the Moto cable wasn't carrying the Bass the monitor out wouldn't and couldn't out put it. I thought what others where saying was that they were finding thier HDMI cables were not carrying the bass or maybe I have misunderstood that as the point as many also said they are not using the more expensive Motorola cable was that may be the cause. I realize in theory any HDMI cable should work but real life isn't always that simple.
Marc
Neither HDMI cable type nor manufacturer will make a difference in the number of audio channels played nor resolution of the video output of our Xoom.
If you're only getting two channel sound, then that's all the Xoom is outputting, which makes sense as there's only two channels in our audio system IIRC.
I basically isolated it down to the xoom. Four receivers, two cables and same result. The only thing that didn't change was the xoom. This is a bit underwhelming...

You have to run audio out via 3.5mm jack to get good sound. You can run the hdmi to a dock with a audio out then plug some speakers into the dock and it will sound great, but not straight through the hdmi.

Simple question and I can't find an answer no matter where I look or who I call.
Can anyone verify if the multimedia Dock: Link that came out for the GT version 1 models is or isn't compatible with the GT2?
I'm wanting to install an in dash tablet in my car. These samsung models are about the only ones out there that have a small dock that can hide behind the dash, which have a power port and an RCA audio out port, allowing me to charge it constantly while I'm driving and send audio out to an amplifier pumping jams to my speakers.
Anyways, if anyone could answer this question it'd be a big help.
Does not work. Not for me at least, and it is designed forspecific tablet as well.

The keyboard dock works fine for me, so does the OTG cable and HDMI dock, dunno about what you have.

Did you buy this online? If so, where (url) and do you have a product number?
I bought an a/v cable which did not work. So, before I buy some new products I want to be sure that it will work.
Thank you in advance!
HDTV Adapter is EPL-3PHPBEGSTA. Works with P6200 and P5100. Official Samsung product, bought from a Samsung store. It's weird, though, the same adapter did not work on a friend's P3100 from a different country. It just brings up one of those 'open with' dialog boxes with unrelated apps on connecting. I think this is a software glitch, though, because mine is on the latest stock firmware, and it works perfectly. Tons of websites also list this as a compatible accessory for all Tab 1s and 2s.
USB host cable is just a cheapie cable costing a couple of bucks off ebay. Works on P6200, P7100, P7300, P3100, P5100. Tried and tested all.
Also all available Samsung keyboard docks work with all available tabs, there's only a removable plastic guide stand that's different. In my case, the same dock for the P6200 worked with the P5100 once I removed the plastic. In my case, I procured a keyboard dock for the P7500 and modified the plastic to fit my P5100. Works just fine after modding the stand.

Just got this tablet and dock, which as a combo is incredibly sexy... I have many thoughts about this device which I would love to share later, but for now I have to know if your dock behaves like mine:
When I insert the tablet into the dock, i initially get no recognition. If i plug it in to the charger while docked, it instantly recognizes it. I can then unplug it from the charger and it is connected and the keys/mouse pad work. However if I close the screen, I must repeat this process. I have not found another way to make the tablet see the dock.
The latch is secured, the charger charges the tablet and dock through the dock connector.
Is this normal? If so, its retarded. If not, have I missed a dock power button or something?
Do I need to ship this POS back to amazon or what?
Otherwise I love this thing as a package. Devs need to crank out more Teg3 games though. #gameloftchokes

I want to use my tablet for presentations in my conference room. I need to mirror what's on my tablet screen onto a big hd television. I haven't come across a way to do it wirelessly (which would be my first choice), so I am going to resort to running and hiding a long hdmi cable. Do I need an DVI to HDMI cable?
I depends on what inputs the screen has. If it has HDMI, you'll need a Micro HDMI to (Normal) HDMI cable (the Infinity only has Micro HDMI for screen output).
I've read that using a DVI converter does not work with the TF700 - not sure if it's true - but something to be aware of...

You could use a HDMI cable going to a Wireless HDMI extender and then from that with a HDMI to micro HDMI to the TF700.
But that does get a bit pricey

check the projector for an hdmi connection, if your doing presentations you might want to take a look at quickoffice, it allows you to use the screen as a laser pointer when connected to a projector.

Splashtop has a Whiteboard out for $10.00. Their remote desktop software is awesome, havn't tried the whiteboard though.
