[Q] Rogers001 CID not changing to 111111 - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hey guys, so I am trying to root my phone and I am following djrbliss' method using X-Factor Root Exploit.
When I run the bat file it seems to work well - do the 2 restores - but after the second one it shows this:
1800KB/s (64527 bytes in 0.035s)
[-] Failed.
[+] Rebooting into bootloader mode
Press any key to continue -
...InfoCID: ROGER001
OKAY
If it's not 111111 exploit has failed.
So has it failed?
The latest drivers are installed, I have the android SDK installed, HTC Sync is not running.

Just go to htcdev.com and unlock. Rogers doesn't need supercid to unlock/root.

This.
X-factor is only for AT&T version.

Awesome! So I did that, everything worked perfect except for! The LAST step :
On your phone you will now see the disclaimer. Please read this carefully as this action may void your warranty. Use the Volume buttons to highlight your choice, and the Power button to make your selection. If you select Yes, your phone will be reset to its’ factory default settings, and your bootloader will be unlocked. If you select No, your phone will reboot and no modifications will have been made.
This did NOT appear. What do? : /
Punch in the same command until it works?
At the top of the fastboot screen it shows ******TAMPERED******** and under *********UNLOCKED************
does that mean I am okay to just move on? Perhaps the prev. owner went through this?

Weird that it didn't show you the warning (or you pressed yes without paying attention)
But if it says Unlocked, then it is completed

Alright that being said, would you be able to point me in the right direction as to what I should be doing next?
Is my phone Rooted?

Possibly. Do you have the superuser app installed?
If not install twrp recovery and flash the superuser zip

Are you rooted? Also it would seem like you already have supercid. Since you don't match the two cids it says.

Yes I am rooted. How would I check for Super CID?
If I already have supercid, what would be my next step?
Just checked the bootloader and it still says locked.
Thanks
You could try to do bootloader unlock. If it works you do if it doesn't you don't. Not sure how to check.

I had a similar problem. I ended up patching the file manually. My CID was showing correctly CWS__001 starting at offset 214 so not sure what the issue was. To check if you have changed the CID try
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
wait for reboot then
Code:
fastboot oem readcid
It should read 11111111. If it does you can try
Code:
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
Leave the command prompt open and copy the text. You can find the exact instructions at htcdev.com in the unlock bootloader section by selecting other supported devices.

If you're on Windows you should download HTC Sync which will install the USB drivers for the phone. Then, uninstall HTC Sync which will still leave the USB drivers on your computer. Then download the Android SDK from here. Once you have that running you want to install "Android SDK Platform-tools" which should be near the top. Now you should be ready to run the commands, just open a command prompt and navigate to the directory the platform-tools were installed to.
On a side note, you can also check your CID by downloading CID Getter from the Play Store
Shweeeet ! Will try tonight and keep ya posted.
Since I am not familiar with SDK, is there a cheat sheet available? I have no idea where to start and how to fire this thing up.
Thanks
Thanks to all ! I had a Brain Fart. Completely overlooked the fact this is Linux until I saw the commands. Duh !
unlock bootloader
I'm having issues unlocking my bootloader. I go through all the steps, get to the end and cmd prompt says its sending unlock token (0 kb)... It will not go any farther than this. I have to then manually reboot. What am I doing wrong? I've searched the forums and cannot find an answer. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Any ideas?

I need immediate help on this issue. My hboot is on 1.29 and when i searched for S-OFF , i got mostly 2 methods. One was from htcdev.com to unlock the bootloader via htc site, but somehow i've been experiencing issues with the site (Whenever i log in, i'm logged out like 2-3 seconds later..). That leaves the other method, the one requiring the wire trick.. I've tried that so many times now, every time it says:
Do not remove sdcard from phone
Do wire-trick now!! Look instructions at web
Waiting device....
Found device... Please wait...
Getting into bar.....

I'm really worried, as i want to do a Custom ROM as soon as possible, but am really confused what to do.. Please help!!

No man, you have understood it wrong.
1)You should UNLOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER with HTCdev website. If you do not unlock your bootloader you won't be able to do the next steps
2)Install the recovery with fastboot
3)Root
4)S-Off with Juopunutbear.
5)SuperCID if you want to
6)Custom ROM
That's the order of things, don't change it, or you'll face problems. Try the HTCDev website untill you unlock the bootloader
Read THIS thread, it has everything you need. It's for hboot 1.27, but it works with 1.29
actually he can do the juopunutbear method for S-OFF without using the HTCdev website
but yes first root
Just keep trying.

Juopunutbear Prerequisites:
* Be unlocked using the HTCdev bootloader unlock.
* Be rooted (have superuser and/or an unsecured boot image installed)
* Have a spare microSD card or back up all contents of your SDcard
* Have fastboot and adb drivers installed and working (windows)
* Have usb debugging enabled
* Have a length of insulated wire of sufficient length to join the contact points for your device (paperclip)
At least that's the only way I know to do it

Carrier unlock and bootloader unlock are two different things. You can run the software update just fine.
What does Tampered mean?
Hi ,
Still a little confused ( sorry, total newbie)
I'm using a at&t Htc one x in India. When i load it in HBoot it shows:
*Tampered*
*Locked*
What does the tampered mean? can i still run the RUU?
on the HTC site, i could find only a CRC file... can i install the Asia version or should i install the Usa version
Pl let me know.
Thanks!

If it says tampered that means it was unlocked at some time and was probably supercid.
You can try using fastboot to determine the CID, it may be changed back CWS__001 or could still be 11111111
You would most likely brick if you try to ruu to 3.18
You would have to S-OFF first which is somewhat advanced and creates a big security hole if you don't know what you're doing.

Having trouble rooting (updated to 4.1.1)

Hi, I Just picked up the HTC One X earlier last month and decided that I wouldn't root until I realized that there's certain apps I use that won't run without root (sixaxis controller for example) so after I had already updated to 4.1.1, I figured that I'd enable USB debugging and so that I could receive root access using Hasoon 2000's simple all in one toolkit, however I can't get the xFactor root exploit that changes your CID working..
I'll get prompted to restore first backup, which doesn't work (starts, then ends immediately), it automatically tries a second time, then sends me to the bootloader. I then get prompted to check my CID before I proceed, and it still hasn't changed from my original 'Rogers01" CID to the 1111-sequence of numbers. I have the latest HTC drivers installed for my One X..
Anyone have a clue on what's going on here? Could this be happening because I updated?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
TL;DR version
I updated to 4.1.1. and I'm trying to root, can't change CID
I don't think you have to change cid with rogers just go to htcdev.com get you unlock token unlock boatloader push a recovery then flash a Rom and boot.I'mg

You can't if you on att because atts cid is blocked on htcdev.com and so you need to change your cid to supercid which we can't do on 4.1.1 yet

At&t htc oneX, firmware

Hi to all,
Can any one help or give me advice, I have a Htc one X ( Black ) which I bought from wal-mart while I was on holiday last year, and had it unlocked to use on my network. 3 mobile ( I live in the uk which I forgot to say ), which I've noticed new firmware out, but since I don't live in the us, I can not update it.
Ive seen so many ways to root my phone and unlocking the bootloader, which ive tried and failed with access denied etc etc,
can anyone give me the right way to put a new firmware on the phone
android ver 4.0.3
Htc sense 4.0
Software Number 1.85.502.3 710RD
HTC SDK 4.11
Kernel Version
3.0.8-01155-gca24dle
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT
Build number
1.85.502.3_R2_CL63811 release-keys
cheers
Boot into the bootloader, and tell us what it says there. To get to bootloader, hold down the power button and the volume down button at the same time, your capacitive button lights will start to flash. When the screen turns off, release the power button but keep holding volume down button until it reaches the bootloader (white screen with a bunch of text).

I've clearly indicated here what root methods work for which firmware versions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
The other alternative, is to RUU to Jellybean (firmware 3.18) using the official RUU, which does not require root, bootloader unlock, etc.
https://support.htc.com/?title=en-us/070-HTC_One_X_ATT/Software_Updates/HTC_One_X%E2%84%A2_for_AT%26T_ROM_Update_|_3.07.2013
But be sure the phone is not SuperCID, since running the RUU with SuperCID + S-on will brick the phone.
Also, if you want to be rooted and bootloader unlocked (not just stock Jellybean) its recommended to do so on your current (older) 1.85 firmware. The 1.85 root method was relatively simple compared to the newer exploits, IMO.
