Hows the performance of this app on various phone models? Does it require Snapdragon, Hummingbird, OMAP3630, OMAP3430, OC'd versions? Also, controls?

if ur using froyo on ur motorola droid and overclocked it to 800-1000 mhz, then ur pretty good
Just tried to buy it, I'm hung @ authorizing purchase. Per Zodttd's twitter Google has put the brakes on it for the moment.
Well that sucks. I should have gotten it when I had the chance. They havent stopped other emulators on the market.
got capcom vs snk, armored core and wipeout xl working on it. hard to find good roms and the controls are as tricky as gensoid and snesoid. i hope the devs keep updating it to make it better
Also the lack of support for L2 and R2 make some games impossible to play...

Hi,
I bought a Come One Bluetooth Gamepad one year ago for my old Samsung Omnia.
It worked perfectly for FPSECE (psx emulator for WinMo).
Do you know if it would work with Android / HTC Desire / psx4droid ?
Hey, if you're still having trouble getting the app from the Market, it's available on SlideME.
Anyways, mrtankjump from droidforums has made a wiki with game ROMs that are working. If you like it contribute!

Does this support multi-touch? Or does the program simply not support combination of buttons being pressed at the same time?
I have 2 fighting games (Dragonball Final Bout and Ultimate 22). I can't get any combinations to work. For example, in Final Bout, to go quickly to the opponent, you use "L1" + "arrow key". But that doesn't work...
I'm the lead developer of a space MMO called Vendetta Online. We announced a port to Tegra/Android back in June (see vendetta-online.com/android), and we're looking at doing an "open beta" test-release of the port in the near future (as a directly-distributed APK). Our game port has been entirely developed and tested on Tegra tablets and devkits over the past year. The Viewsonic G is one of the few released Tegra tablets, so I'm posting as a general heads-up and to gauge interest. The game trailer is on our front page, and while the Tegra detail level is dialed down a bit from the PC (on which the trailer was shot), it's actually pretty close.. and impressive on a little tablet (in my opinion, however biased ).
At the same time, I have to express some caution. We've had Malata prototype devices for a long time (on which the G is supposedly based), and there may still be some OpenGL ES driver issues present in the Viewsonic OS image (hopefully improved in the Dec 24th update? Unsure). One historical problem caused the game framerate to be drastically reduced.. let's hope this has been resolved.
I'm also not sure how many touch points the G supports. Our Z-Pad only does two, which is.. not really enough (we use two to fly and then an additional one to shoot occasionally, although you can opt for accelerometer flight). The Toshiba Folio 100 does four multi-touches, which works far better. The latency of the touch-response is also a factor, and entirely device-dependent. I've only used a G briefly, and don't really remember what the response was like. FYI.
Lastly, you should all be aware that we're a pay-to-play MMORPG, and I'm not going to be issuing free accounts to testers (that would make things a lot more logistically complex than I'm prepared to deal with right now). We do have a free trial, and if you make friends with an existing subscriber they can also give you a "friend key" that lasts a few weeks. I'm expecting most people to just tinker using the free trial.
Honestly, this "open beta" is more for non-Tegra devices than for released Tegra products.. we're widely tested on Tegra (both released and un-released devices), and we have a pretty good idea of what issues are out there in some of the OS images. But we have no clue about Galaxy Tabs, Snapdragon tablets or other things in the wild. That all being said, I thought it would be cool to include people from here, and potentially give you something that really shows the capabilities of the Tegra. Early Tegra adopters are pretty starved for content, from where I sit (we have many devices, and little to run on them). Plus, getting more people playing with the tablet version and providing usability feedback is helpful, and XDA-developers is definitely a more technically savvy crowd.
If you'd like to be involved, I'd recommend following our Twitter, Facebook or RSS feeds on vendetta-online.com, or just checking our Android forum regularly. There's no formal process to this testing, no extensive secrecy or signups (beyond making a normal account, and the usual game EULA); we're a single-universe game, so for us this is just "another port" to our existing, live MMO. All accounts can be used across all platforms (currently Mac/Windows/Linux32/Linux64). Our kind of testing is to make the APK available and then listen to what people have to say.
Humm.. we're looking at adding voice-chat support on Android as well, sometime soon. It looks like the G has no mic, but maybe it would work with a bluetooth headset.. no clue really.
I'll try to check back and answer questions if I can, but I'm going to be spending most of my time on getting the Android build ready for a test-release. I'll at least post to this thread when we make the build public.
Happy Holidays everyone.
g tab does have a mic, voice record app works great...see your learning the g tab already!

It does say 3.0 but also mentions phones, so the text is a bit confusing as written.
If it will run on our current Froyo Gtabs, count me in for testing it out.
I would definitley be interested, and i can test on a tegra 2 and a snapdragon powered device
Sounds good I'll test. Where do we get the apk?

Im really looking forward to checking it out.
Looks like we won't be playing Vendetta until a update comes our way.

I am pretty sure anyone running android 2.3 on their g tab can download and play this game. I tried out a 2.3 rom last night and all the tegra games showed up in the market when they would not on 2.2. I am back on 2.2 now and they wont show up.
I could flash to 2.3 and grab it off the market but the 2.3 rom I have is experimental and if I reboot it stops working. If I could get the instal files off and onto my sd card maybe I could run it when I flash back to 2.2
Someone in the comments on tegra zone said that Vendetta Online runs great on the G-Tab.
No one answered the developers ? About how many touch points we have...I know we have two, but we need more than two. Does anyone know how many touch points we have?

More Devs need to start supporting Bluetooth input devices like wii mote. Tablets don't have buttons and I don't care how strong you are, holding your tab out for gsensor control kills your arms after 20 min. Devs need to jump behind this player adopted input method and offer support within the games. Just a thought.
Online space mmo huh? I will buy in. Hope its like a 3D version of Escape Velocity by Ambrosia software.

I actually spoke with Incarnate at CTIA Wireless this week and he mentioned the G Tab and support for it. The issue they ran into with allowing it in the market is that it required a certain piece of code that certain OS's don't recognize and thus can't see (I think there were other issues, but I can't recall). He said they're planning to get it working on GB soon, but that unless the G Tab has more than 2 touch points its useless. The game looked pretty good considering its a tablet He was also kinda disappointed on the lack of interest on here Speak up or you won't get Vendetta!
Multitouch problem already has a solution. Key mapping game controls so people can use USB or Bluetooth input devices.
I have been waiting since first post to get some play time with this title but how excited can someone get without screen shots and an apk. Even just a link to a movie of it in action would be nice. OP needs to update original post with screens and game issues so far so the community can give more feedback.

Hey guys! I'm seriously considering getting a gtab, and one of my curiosities is how many multitouch points it can support. Would one of you care to get the "multitouch test" app from the market, and report back to me how many points were supported? I appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks!

2 for vagan tab gingerbread edition.
But, is this limited by hardware of software??? I would like to see 5 or more multitouch support in honeycomb. That would be awesome. XD
My understanding is that it is a limitation of the touch display (hardware).
Sorry, but I find two is plenty for my needs.
I know 2 is great for nearly everything, I have 3 points on my incredible, and it's wasted, there are very few apps that support more than 2 points. I was just curious since it's a Tegra 2, which is supposed to be excellent for gaming, and 10 points may come in to play sometime in the near future. We'll see, but thanks for the input. I'm gonna take the plunge in a few weeks.

2 was enough for me until I installed the NES emulator last night and tried to play Super Mario Bros. I couldn't press the direction control, B (for speed), and A (to jump) at the same time... Dang!
I wonder if the USB NES controllers would work...

Hi,
Im looking for an android phone with qwerty keyboard. I recently purchased Xperia Pro but it doesnt fullfill my expectations - what annoys me the most is the constant (and kinda slow) refresh of (any) launcher connected with sliding the keyboard out or in.
So, my next target is Motorola Pro+. Im a bit nervous of how is it unsupported and about the shape of the keyboard but apart from this I like the bar construction with qwerty front-facing keyboard and portrait screen (better for me than landscape).
But Im pretty much disappointed with the small number of android bar-style qwerty phones there is - ie. with acceptable screen size and resolution and performance.
Are there really no (say) bar-style qwerty android phones with 1GHz cpu and 3,5" 800x480 screen and some acceptable amount of internal memory, ICS compatible?
If there are, please, write me about it. Or write me about how great and cool the Morotola Pro Plus is, despite the GB version of android.
EDIT: JUST WANT TO STRESS OUT I DONT WANT A SLIDER. IM LOOKING FOR A BAR-STYLE PHONE. OR, IF IT WAS A SLIDER, SOMETHING SLIDING DOWNWARDS, LIKE BB TORCH. THANKS.
Im looking for something like this:

The only thing I can think of is the Samsung Galaxy Chat, with ICS. However, it has a very low res screen (320x240) and its only 3 inches diagonal. But its biggest selling point is ICS.
It has a single core 850 MHz processor and 4 GB of internal storage.

Yeah, youre right about the ICS being the biggest selling point - Id be afraid of the speed of the system though. And the resolution clearly sucks ... :cyclops:

Got Pro Plus and it's a great device. As I went through other similar devices (qwerty, android, touch screen), this one offers the most (processor, higher resolution) :victory:
1-What is point of buying FULL HD tablet and most the apps are not optimize for it..(Like the IPAD 3 there are a few apps that are optimize )
2-What is the point, every time i go GOOGLE PLAY to buy an app ,it is not compatible with my devices.
{Almost 90% of EA games and 90% of GAMELOFT games are compatible with my devices.}
What else i'm i missing........
MOD EDIT: REMOVED
This is the future of tablets along with 2gigs of ram like the Note 10.1. Eventually apps will be optimized for tablets and for higher res screens. Google has spoken out and said that they will focus on tablet apps optimization so its only a matter of time before most devs are on board. Yes many apps are not optimized for the FHD screen but I havent had any issues with all the apps Ive downloaded far and i already have about 150 apps installed. I dont know about you but I like knowing that my FHD screen tablet will still be valid in the coming years vs one with an aging lower res screen.

Text, which is used on ebooks, web browse, several games etc. But if you have Infinity or FHD device, just go use non FHD device now. You will immediately notice blurriness on texts. My eyes are bad, but even then I noticed the difference on my old iPad 2 after 2 weeks of Infinity.
The problem is that everything is made for the Galaxy. And we know all that has a resolution that looks 10 years old compared to the TF700. Devs are too stupid or too lazy to figure out it's easier to downscale than upscale. (Evidently I mean those on Google Play and not the folks here, let's keep those two seperate.)
As for compatibility issues, developers are too lazy to add 'Transformer TF700" to that text file in the google play store that lists compatible devices. (How hard is it to do that when you add the Nexus 7?! Morons) Fact is all EA and Gameloft games work FINE on the TF700.
many apps/games which are shown as not compatible are working fine if you copy a titanium backup from your phone to the tab!

When an app or games looks really promising, I'll always try side-loading from my Galaxy SII -- works more often than not. With Total Commander, you can just send over the raw apk file as well.
I have removed a few post in here guys, remember this site is for everyone, be mindful of what you say. Thank you!

I Blame Asus, they should call the Game developer and ask the why the game is not compatible with their device.
When Asphalt 7: Heat came out it wasn't compatible with the Nexus 7,but Google make sure that was compatible in a few days.
Asus is making Good Hardware but does really spend time on the software.....
I look at it this way:
I went through the same pain when Vista first came out, only it was software *AND* device drivers (for hardware). IOW, Been there, done that.
Yeah, it is annoying that some apps are not available for my Infinity. But, most are. And I am good with that.
As mentioned above, I'd rather be ahead of the curve in terms of hardware than behind it. Having used my Infinity for a couple of months now I could never use anything less than the resolution I am using on it on any other tablet.
What is the point of spending $500 or more on a tablet device and not getting Full HD?
