Hows the performance of this app on various phone models? Does it require Snapdragon, Hummingbird, OMAP3630, OMAP3430, OC'd versions? Also, controls?

if ur using froyo on ur motorola droid and overclocked it to 800-1000 mhz, then ur pretty good
Just tried to buy it, I'm hung @ authorizing purchase. Per Zodttd's twitter Google has put the brakes on it for the moment.
Well that sucks. I should have gotten it when I had the chance. They havent stopped other emulators on the market.
got capcom vs snk, armored core and wipeout xl working on it. hard to find good roms and the controls are as tricky as gensoid and snesoid. i hope the devs keep updating it to make it better
Also the lack of support for L2 and R2 make some games impossible to play...

Hi,
I bought a Come One Bluetooth Gamepad one year ago for my old Samsung Omnia.
It worked perfectly for FPSECE (psx emulator for WinMo).
Do you know if it would work with Android / HTC Desire / psx4droid ?
Hey, if you're still having trouble getting the app from the Market, it's available on SlideME.
Anyways, mrtankjump from droidforums has made a wiki with game ROMs that are working. If you like it contribute!

Does this support multi-touch? Or does the program simply not support combination of buttons being pressed at the same time?
I have 2 fighting games (Dragonball Final Bout and Ultimate 22). I can't get any combinations to work. For example, in Final Bout, to go quickly to the opponent, you use "L1" + "arrow key". But that doesn't work...

I used Gamelofts website and bought a few of my favorites (Its buy 1 for 4.99 and get a game for free btw). It thinks the phone is an I9000 SGS but everything is working great and the games look amazing on the the 4.5"screen.
I was bummed that I could not use the version of the games that I bought for my Inspire, but so is life.
Agreed, Dungeon Hunter 2 HD looks amazing. Also, Settlers 4 works, but I got a crash once.
Does Gameloft allow re-download free of charge? Let's Golf looks good and I'd like to have it on my Infuse and Transfromer.
thanks for the heads up!
I did this to, I bought a few games from there mobile site cause it thinks my Infuse is a Galaxy S phone but when i went on there today it now sees my phone as an SGH-I997 and says there are no games available for my phone. Guess i'm lucky i bought games while I could!

Yeah the same thing for me. I did figure out that if I put it in Airplane mode and use WiFi you can tell Gameloft you are using a SGS I9000 and see all the games.
Good thread about to download some tonight
Wow, thanks for the heads up on this! I was just about to write a post asking why the Infuse can't use anything good from Gameloft and if it will ever be able to- i.e. does the Infuse just have the wrong GPU?
I know this is sort of a work around, but I'll take it. Gameloft has some of the best, most polished Action, 3D, RPG, Sim, etc. titles around (I have a few favs- NOVA1-2, MC:BP, Order&Chaos, let's golf on my iPhone4 and iPad). I'm even willing to re-pay to re-play some just to see them on this beautiful screen we have! I was just about to get Asphalt 6 and Shadow Guardian for my iDevices, but maybe I'll go Android with these if they run as well.
+ thanks to you if I can figure out how!
bump any word from gameloft on when they will get us some games?
gameloft doesnt seem to want to support att phones, it is odd but they had games up for the vibrant and not the captivate.
also you should be able to run apk's for other devices if you use chainfire3d and download the api for the tegra2 and qualcomm chipsets.

chainfire 3d is in the market, after the app install the driver needs to be installed from inside the app, the phone will reboot.
I don't remember where I found the plugins for qualcomm and nvidea but they are xda somewhere. once yoy download then to the sdcard you go into chainfire 3d and select "install plugins" it will search all folders on the sd cards. after it finds all the plugins you install them one at a time. you can uninstall from the "manage plugins" menu. once you have a plugin installed go into open gl settings and load it.
depending on the game yoy may need to hide chainfire 3d (there is a setting for that) and maybe even spoof build.prop to make it run. chainfire 3d will give the api support but that doesn't mean the game isn't locked to the device by other means or that the device will meet the requirements to run the game. (it should being that only the adreno 220 has a significant advantage over our gpu and only 2 us devices use it)
Thanks!

Seriously though, some developers just don't see the potential..
It's not about not seeing the potential. It's about the fact that it would lock his emulator out of running on older OS versions, thus killing off much of his market.
thn why does niot anyone build a version of mupen64plus AE with analog support? mupen is after the latest realease useable....

That's no excuse. Release 2 versions, one for xplay and one for non xplay. It's really not much extra work, and it would make so many people much happier. Plus, if other emulators release this feature, it would be one hell of a reason to choose the other one over this one. Not the mention this is the single handedly best phone for emulators such as this one.
Clearly, you haven't developed anything in your life.
Doesn't sony ericsson basically give you the code to paste into your application? You're right, I've never developed on android, but others on this forum make it sound like it's not a hard thing to do.

+1 Thats the main reason he will never add analogue support. But if he wouldnt of messed up with the GPL in the first place and got his developer account banned. This wouldnt be a problem. As the google market api now allows for multiple .apk's to be uploaded under one listing.

Hey so I just seen on this market pretty bad compatibility for a lot of devices it seems, the data download is choppy and the audio is reportedly out of sync for SOME devices other devices just find the game to laggy.
Having tried it myself i find it very choppy Xperia Play controls work fine for me, although other users are reporting problems, this could be down to bad downloads/ custom roms.
Not to mention it's like over a year late, guess its in preparation for episode II

You are better off buying sonic CD, its much longer and its much more fun. Sonic 4 just plain sucks.
It's working smoothly for me with xperia play controls... Stock rom with root and some system apps uninstalled, and supercharged and i have chainfire installed....
Edit-Played through first level with only one lag spike which didn't really affect me since it was so small... Touchpaxz do not work but the d-pad does and I can't see why you would want the Touchpaxz to work so I'd say buy the game... No idea what's wrong with your version... Maybe try deleting and re downloading the sd data....

Blocked from the market for me. It's saying incompatible with my device.
EDIT: Went ahead and *forced* it anyway... and now I'm wondering why in the hell they blocked Xperia PLAY users from seeing this. It's working perfectly with Xperia PLAY's physical gamepad and I can't quite complain about the performance either.

While Sonic CD was a much bigger deal, this is kind of a big deal for me too... you guys don't know how much I bugged Sega about putting this on PSP (while most games just suck on touch-screens, platformers got the shorter end of the stick by far) and this kinda makes up for it.

gonna download and have a look myself, got it on my PS3 and love sonic games!! lets see what its like on my mobile
Can confirm that it works fine on the Play controls.
I just bought Sonic 4 on my old Droid x and then tried the apk on my Xperia PLAY and I can tell you right now that the controls most certanly work. The menus are all touch but the game itsef supports the controls, not the touchpads but the directional pad works great.
I've been playing it a bit now, and must admit I did find a few bits of lag going on :-( but all the controls work find, and tilting on certain bits is loads of fun!!
I'm not overclocking so maybe if I pop SetCPU up to 1.4 or 1.6 it may stop the lag.

That is interesting... that means Sega was actively working on making this compatible with the Xperia PLAY this whole time.
...that brings me back to why the hell they'd make this any less than fully available day 1. It's not like they couldn't expect us to figure them out.
Hi guys... i'm having lots of problems when trying to play my favourite games from the past using different emulators with the Samsung Infuse 4g all the stuff i'm complaining about has been tried both under the original Infuse rom and with the adapted CM7 mod from LinuxBozo.
I know how the emulation stuff works... Although i've been using android for just one month up to now, i'm not a complete noob.
I already downloaded all of the apks and BIOSes needed for the platforms i'm trying to emulate.
At the moment i've only been able to play with SNESoid and GBCoid. Pretty boring though.
In all the cases mentioned i've been able to run the games using the same BIOSes and ROMs on my PC, although with different Emulators and HW ( just to point out -_-' )
I want to play GBA games but both Mojo GBA and GameBoid GBA emulators crash as i attempt loading any .gba rom i have.
Neither N64oid nor Mupen64 recognize any 7zip, zip or even .z64 rom downloaded from known rom sites (the same suggested in the different tuts i read).
Neodroid loads the roms, recognizes them, shows me the embedded thumbnails but fails to load any damn rom.
I bought the infuse specifically for the wide 5" screen and with the purpose of using it to play games during the 2 hours witch separate my school from my home.
I can accept the fact USB reading features weren't implemented on the Infuse, but not being able to play NeoGeo, GBA and N64 is giving me some buyer's remorse.
My Nokia was able to play GBA...that's not acceptable.
Hope to get some advice.
What versions of the emulators are you using? With Gameboid Lite and N64oid, I have no problems playing GBA games and .zip N64 roms on any ROM (stock/CM7/MIUI/GB/etc.). Do you have this issue on a clean flash (ie. GTG Ultimate Unbrick, don't install anything else, don't restore any data, etc.)?
The phone's rom isn't clean anymore but these problems keep happening since the beginning (These emulators were the first thing I installed right after google applications)
I changed version for the psx4droid and it's now working
I don't know what gameboid version i currently run...it's not shown...not even in the about tab. I just want to play gba but i can't find it on the market...looks the same for lots of other useful stuff like the ROM grabber...
The same for what concerns n64oid...i just couldn't find it and tried different apk found around the internet... tomorrow as the post office opens i'm going to charge my pre-paid card in order to give N64 Arcade a try... it's the only n64 emulator I can find on the market.
Btw... maybe i'll save those 0,99 bucks and avoid the risk of getting stuck in the same situation... may you tell me what n64oid and gameboid lite versions are you runnin?

It actually looks legit.
"We cannot tell you where to get games, but inside the app you'll find some help!"
I actually LOL-ed. Surely they don't condone piracy do they?
Anyway, please anyone with Xperia Play would you kindly share your experience with the emulator?
I am especially curious about people with stock ROM and NO overclock, just your standard Xperia Play (which I happen to have). Does it support hardware buttons? Thanks.
Its based on the sources from mupen64 ae+ and as this is licensed under the GPL the features of this emulator will also be in the next release of mupen. So unless the dev screwed up it will support buttons and touchpad. Buy this app if you'd like to support him.
Mupen sucks. Has always been slow.

No one tested it yet?
If this emulator is based entirely on mupen, it is almost guaranteed to be slow...it doesn't even work properly on computers, I personally hate that emulator. Unless someone creates/editys an amazing dynarec recompiler like youngzh. There is no way i see this emulator as being able to move full speed on xperia play devices...
Also, on a side note, why does no one include sound compression in emulators like these. Sound compression goes a long way in increasing emulation speed. Just burns me every time the option isn't included in emulators. :/
