My phone is currently rooted, but I'm running the stock T-mobile rom. I just checked today and there was an update available. Will installing the OTA update causes any issues or brick my phone?

You will loose root I believe.

It will update your HBOOT though, and you need stock recovery.

Hi,
If you have s-off rooted phone, why on earth do you want OTA?
A custom ROM should have the OTA function switched off.
It will only mess up your phone by mixing HTC updates with custom ROM updates.
Anything released by HTC will soon be incorporated into custom ROMS.
If you want OTA updates, then s-on and do it.

A lot of people dont load a custom rom after s-off. They have most likely run the Revolutionary tool to root then just stick with stock in which case OTA updates will keep prompting.
As previous post says you cannot update OTA if a custom recovery has been flashed. Go to the Sensation Android Development section and search for a pre-rooted version, download, copy to SD card and flash in recovery.
I'm currently S-ON and have non rooted stock ROM. I wonder if my phone would be rootable if I apply the official OTA update? Since it installs new HBOOT, would revolutionary be able to S-OFF it?
Check the revolutionary.io website, it pre determines before you download whether if your current setup is rootable.
I don't know if you can S-OFF and root after the update, but I DO KNOW, that you better don't do it before the update.
I have S-OFFed my phone using revolutionary and rooted using this su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip through the clockworkmod. But after latest OTA update I wasn't able to boot anymore and it pretty messed up my phone. After 4 hours I was able to repair my totally useless phone hopefully.
I recently unrooted my phone to stock but have not yet done S-ON. My question is, can I still get OTA upsated from Tmobile if Im S-OFF(un rooted/stock), or do I have to be S-ON?
Thanks

I think you will still get OTA updates if you are running the original Recovery.

I've asked this too and like you was still a little confused. Hope someone can shed an authoritative light on this.
You will get the OTA updates if you have the stock recovery installed as well as the stock rom.
When I first rooted to debrand from Vodafone to generic UK, I wasn't getting the OTA update for 1.50.401.1 when it was available, and it was because I still had clockworkmod recovery installed.
I flashed the original recovery, and the OTA update suddenly appeared.
I still had S-OFF.

Sorry, I'm a n00b...so S-off is okay but don't root yet?
I think both S-OFF and root are okay as long as you are on stock rom and stock recovery.
Definately S-OFF because I always have been since I debranded and have received 2 OTAs since then. I *think* I've been rooted too, but not 100% sure about that.

if you have custom recovery installed then forget OTA updates
edit: or do as malybru suggested
Hi, you cant access ota updates with custom ROM, need back to stock, relock bootloader then its done.
