restarting :( - HTC Sensation

this is my problem
my phone is root s-off ....
i change most rom ....byt i have still problem phone is restarting when i started some application ( skype , msn ,camera , browser...)
i have two diferent batery ( original htc and anker ) whit booth batery is same phone is restarts...
pls help

Have you tired putting a small wedge of paper above battery to stabilize the battery in it's casing? This helps a lot of people with reboot problems. First check to see if battery has a wiggle in it's housing if so try the paper trick. If the lose battery is causing the reboots then this will solve the issue. Best wishes

Are you overclocked? If you are then there is a good chance that this is the cause of your random reboots.

its work in 1560mhz ( no overclok )
byt i think bouth my battheries not working good
because if i charge phone then never is restarting

1560MHz is overclock, try lowering it down to 1512MHz (no overclock). Also, are you undervolting as well?

Hi,
If it's a custom kernel, then you should be able to change the clock speed.
Go to the market and look for System Tuner or Setcpu.
Have a play.

My device was doing the same thing when I was using a stock battery. I changed out my battery to Anker now it never gets hot like that! My device was getting so hot it almost could not be touched! I was afraid I was going to melt my sd card! After I switched the battery out it solved the problem for me. I'm a heavy user too and its never done that since! Perhaps this might help you also? It's worth a try. It worked for me. I couldn't stand it getting so hot it really scared me. I'm so glad the issue is resolved now. Hope this helps you. I know it fixed my issue. Can't hurt to try. Best of luck to you!
It seems my issue was the stock battery. Perhaps the battery is your issue also? If so its a easy fix. Get a long lasting battery like Anker and you will be set.

thnx for idea!! i'll buy it next month... tell me please if had a touchscreen problemm with stock battery?
No I never had a touchscreen problem just got really really hot so hot I could barely Touch the screen! At one point I thought it was going to melt my SD card, but the screen stayed responsive. It still really scared me.
You would think the longer lasting battery would get hotter but that's not the case . Thank God getting the new battery stopped that. I really think I had a faulty stock battery not only did it get burning hot it would only last about 2 1/2 hours! It was ridiculous! I'm so glad I got rid of that battery!

[SOLVED] Phone restarts regularly on every rom

Hi everyone, my desire s is acting strange since few days back.. it keeps on restarting for no reason. At first I thought its due to kernel updates to modified kernel 3. But then I installed reaper gingerbread. It restarted when I opened camera.
Then I installed Nik's project x . Still same problem sometimes when I open camera or other heavy application.
It restarts continuously 5-6 times without completely booting and battery drains to 10-15% from 80-90% within 5 minutes..
I've not got this problem when in charging mode..
I'm now using ice_ds 4.3
If anyone have same problem before , is there a solution to this?
Thanks in advance..

I didn't find a way to close this thread,
Could anyone tell me how do I close this thread ?

I get this too on all custom ROMS.. sometimes if I knock the phone a certain way it resets.. so it must be hardware related.
Can you let me know what your 'SOLUTION' is? All I see if the cause. Thx

Put a bit of paper between the battery and the holder clip, that fixed it for me to keep the battery in place.

can you be more descriptive about the paper sorry not sure where exactly tp place it...
You want to place the paper under the battery just to stabilize it, . DON'T place the paper on the contacts, the purpose is to establish contact on a loose battery so the paper will go away from the contacts.the purpose is To make the battery fit snugly in its area and keep it from wiggling.so you can place a paper wedge on the bottom of the battery to better establish contact. Hope this helps explain it. Best wishes

Did you post this on viper development site ? They really need to know this is a problem! If the developer doesn't know he can't fix the issue. It must be some sort of bug. I run viper myself but do NOT have that problem. Before you go to a different Rom, try this, download a new version of the Rom (previous download could be problematic) then do a FULL wipe wipe data factory reset, wipe cash, wipe dalvik , then reinstall the Rom. See if this solves your issue. This issue is obviously NOT happening to everyone so see if a fresh download will help. Don't use the same download as before!!! Also please make sure the developer knows of this issue by posting on viper. I honestly think a clean install will fix the issue . If it does not then you have no other choice but to switch but before you do please give this a try! Sometimes a clean install will solve these kinds of issues especially if it's a bug not everyone experiences. So give that a try. Please then see how it does. I wish you the best and truly hope this solves the problem. Best of luck!

Ok so I did a full reinstall of viper 1.2.1 but haven't installed google now again but no problem with Rom since on both mine and my wife phone ..I did realiZE that I didn't delete the stock google search before I flashed the google now app.I will update as soon as I try again
I'm having this same exact issue, and it's driving me crazy.
Sounds like too low screen off frequency.
What you guys select for screen - off max frequency in Viper tweaks?

Lowest is 245, I actually solved this issue, it was from enabling the aopk lock screen!! Stick to the regular ring lock screen.

Yes, this is a solution for my problem
Common bug: Probably you are having a security lock. Disable it and give the phone a test ring. Will contact the developers for this bug.

[Q] Help! Crashes and all apk stop working

Hello devs...
Month ago i decided to root my Sensation and installed Elegancia ROM with Sebastian Kernel..
Before that i had Battery issues..that made the phone go out of power for like 2 hours in screen mode..
1. Now.. when i start using the phone.. at home there is no problem.. but when i go outside... whenever i start using the phone after a minute.. when the battery level shows like 57% the phone crashes and when i turn it on again it shows 2% battery and shuts down again.. little later when i try to turn on again.. it shows like 12-15-20%.. (Today it fell down from 90% to 2 then after restart it went to 50)...
Does any1 have any idea how am i supposed to fix those crashes.. or what's the reason to have them.. because i can't rely on my phone when i go outside.. 1 minute of brousing causes crash and battery lvl down with more than 50%..
And the most curious thing is that when i come back at home and connect the Phone to the charger and turn it on.. it shows 50% battery
2. And the second issue is that with Faux Kernel and Pacha after the phone crash and i arrive home.. when i turn it on every single application says "Unfortunately XXXXX has stopped working".. And i'm forced to reinstall the ROM because deleting all the data and reinstalling the applications is not working.
I will be really grateful if someone can be that good to help me.. PLEASE :crying:
Have you tired a new battery? Seems like your having issues with your battery ? Also after putting in a new battery if your still having issues you might consider another rom? I'd do some experiment and see if a new rom helps. Also I'd try a new battery. Best wishes

hi,
1)if you tried different kernels and you had the same issues
then maybe your battery is dying or it is not housing properly
check it.you can also try a different rom
2)try to do wipe dalvik + cache from recovery or
do a full wipe and reflash the rom
best wishes

Thank you for the advice.. i already ordered Anker.. but still wondering how to fix the problem with the stopping of all applications.. they just don't work.. and i have to reflash the rom to fix it..
The problem with those crashes is with all 3 Kernels i've tried.. Sebastian, Faux and Pacha.. now trying Bricked.. But.. only Sebastian doesnt give me the error with the applications.

Senstaion Keeps Turning off?

Phone keep randomly turning off, even with a full charge? Tried different Roms, but nothing changes? New battery doesn't do the trick? Me too, until I found a post on a Vodaphone site that said that multiple copies of HTC Sense was to blame, and that if you go into SETTINGS, then APPS, then select the ALL tab, scroll down to HTC SENSE and Disable the oldest one, then reboot, all my problems would be solved.....
And they have
Hope this helps somebody else and hope it's easier to find than the original post
Another thing that may be the culprit is that the battery is not connecting to the pins correctly. In which case a piece of paper can do the trick! Just lodge it above the battery so that it presses it firmly down onto the pins and you should see no more reboots!
Did the trick for me on several occasions
Did the pack the battery thing at first, and it did seem to work until I upgraded the battery to an Anker.....
Also, ROFL at my spelling mistake in the title. Was definately meant to say Sensation

Only had two shutdowns in the last week and both those were after long gaming sessions in the mornings. That's quite an improvement compared to the 7 or 8 I was getting a day. Sorry it hasn't worked for you though.
Had a few more today too.
I am desperate and willing to try anything.
Maybe, I'll enable it and compare to how it was before.
I should probably get another phone (one S, one mini)
My brother has this problem as well. If you find a fix please tell me.

Randomly restarting of Sensation it's Snapdragon problem, not software. Sometime it's PowerManager IC problem, but then You should see problem with battery level. Once- it's full, and while ago -almost empty etc. Same problem is with Amaze 4G and other with same CPU.
A friend of mine just started having this issue, after upgrading ROM.

My wife's used to have constant reboots daily, stock, rooted, then soff. All rebooted. Then I tried flashing in a certain order the worked with no more reboots.
1.full wipe
2.flash firmware(only once of course)
3.boot into recovery full wipe
4.flash rom
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 4G using xda premium
I only flash ROM, as I don't need to flash firmware every time.
I like ARHD ROMs. It happens even when I do full wipe and it laso started happening to a friend, who didn't have this problem before, same ROM as me.

My post says to only flash firmware once but if u flash firmware then go back to recovery you'll notice it has an error mounting a partition and to perform full wipe. Also phone doesn't boot until wiping cache and dalvik. I'm just saayong what worked for me when I thought all was lost and tried every ROM
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda app-developers app
I tried wiping cache and dalvik without any benefit regarding restarts/turn-offs.
Anyway, depending on the ROM I am using, sometimes I get random restarts, sometimes turn offs.
Well I suggest trying the method I posted. I know sounds like it won't do much but I'm I'm telling u I had reboots like crazy everyday and once I flashed in that order it stopped COMPLETLY. So make a back up and try to start all over with firmware and everything.
Sent from my Dark Unicorn Resurrected v4.1 using xda premium
OK, I will try that.
Anyway, I was on stock kernel and now I just flashed SebastianFM, see how this works, better or worse.
I'm also thinking about trying another ROM.
//LE: with SebastianFM's Overclocked Kernel, I already had a few restarts :-\
