continuous reboot the TF700 - Asus Transformer TF700

unfortunately I have continuous reboot the TF700.
I called the service but have not been able to tell me anything. Just send it in for service.
I wanted to know if the ROM cooked this problem is solved or you also have continuous reboots.
thanks

are yo doing anything specific when the reboots happen?

Did you try limiting the background processes to 4 in developer settings? Solved it for a lot of people.

The right way to fix this to reflash the firmware. Download the full version from Asus site and flash it.

Reinstalling the firmware, I would lose the root?
(use otarootkeeper since I was ICS)
I have to get this version? (TAB Italian):
ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T Firmware: V10.4.4.18 Only for WW SKU (Android 4.1.1) - update 10/18/2012
or this newer one?
ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T Firmware: V10.4.4.18 Only for JP SKU (Android 4.1) - update 11/05/2012

Have you attempted a factory reset? It could be an app causing your issues. You won't lose root as long as younprotect root through ota rootkeeper app.

If you want to keep root, you have to go back to ICS, re root, save root, then let the OTA upgrade. After all done, restore root.

You lose root it you flash a complete firmware since the system partition is completely overwritten. No safe place to hide any su backup.
btw, I don't know how buhohitr can be so sure that re-flashing the firmware is the solution to your problem. It might help, but in theory it shouldn't - an md5sum comparison of the files in your ROM against those in the full firmware would show if yours is really damaged.

How can I see the MD5 of my firmware and compare it with the original?
By performing a factory reset with the 3 wipe, lose the root or can I restore it with rootkeeper I already have installed?

Run the following command line in a root shell on your device (in a terminal emulator, or via adb shell):
Code:
find /system -type f -exec md5sum {} \; | sort -k2 > /sdcard/md5sums.txt
This assumes you have BusyBox installed.
Then fetch the created file and compare it with the attached one (use your favorite diff tool, I prefer "Meld" under Linux or "WinMerge" under Windows). You should only get differences that you can explain, i.e. the addition of a Superuser.apk and busybox.

Any root that works on the stock new 9.2.1.24 WW?

Never rooted my TF101.. But now need root to be able to install an important app..
I have searched the web and didnt find any info for the new 9.2.1.24
So is there any working root?
Thanks
If you have a serial number that starts from earlier B70 and below, use BRK's root toolkit.
Do a search here; I've always used this to root my B60 regardless of the firmware version I have.
Where did you find it? At asus website I see us, cn and tw, but no ww.
Today a new .21 showed to de devices, but still no .24 ww.

Hmm.. I live in Swe.. And got .24
.24 is WW and they written about it in the ota changelog info
Here in France, I got the update late last friday.
I think it'll take some time to get widely distributed.
I'm interested in a rooting solution for my C10 though (never rooted this TF101 before), but I'm not stressed about that.

I couldn't use any root exploit when I upgraded to .24. I bricked my device when I accidentally flashed the wrong kernel on my B70 (gotta clean out that MSD Card), so I got lucky when I was able to get into APX and flash .17, root it using ViperMod (using option number 1 for the tf201), then used Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper, upgraded to .21, used VOTA Rootkeeper again to reestablish root (and then used Titanium Backup to fix, as it indicated there was an error with the folder structure), then upgraded to .24 and again, used VOTA rootkeeper and Titanium backup to fix.

Have yoy tested this on the .24?
I used Vipermod to root, Voodoo to protect/restore root and Titanium backup for insurance. Everything worked just fine after .24 upgrade, no issues.
However, there's a noticeable increase in speed. Did anyone else have the same experience with rooted, stock units?

[FLASHABLE] Repackaged OTA update 9.4.5.26 US/WW versions

After my thread for the TF101, here are my first repackaged OTA updates for the TF700:
First of all let me make this clear:
If you have root and want to keep it, use OTA Rootkeeper.
The original recovery is removed from the blob, so you won't lose your current recovery.
If after flashing one of these zips you still have the OTA update notification, do this:
Go to Settings -> Apps -> All and clear data from DMClient.
Current OTA 9.4.5.26:
US version:
us-9.4.5.22-to-9.4.5.26-TF700-CWM-v1.0.zip MD5: 2C6C763D0A7618E4AB4CB530D714F833
WW version:
ww-9.4.5.22-to-9.4.5.26-TF700-CWM-v1.0.zip MD5: E9597AD7C18483445A1F006D91A44C1B
IMPORTANT! If you deleted/changed some files, these updates will NOT work. These updates are meant for people on a stock rooted rom.
Sweet I know a few people were looking for a flashable OTA update.

AFAIK cwm zips are compatible with TWRP.
It's a generic name which is supported by most recoveries.
(TWRP or CWM) As far as we are able to unlock our TF700... That not my case...
But it's a good news for those who can
Lizard, a better title would be "[ROM][FLASHABLE]" or something. People tend to get very confused when you say "CWM" because they think no other recovery can flash it .

I've changed the title to flashable, since I don't consider the update zips to be roms. I hope this will take away some of the confusion.

That sucks, I didn't flash .30, it came with it already installed. I'm used to flashing my phones, so it should be no problem flashing my tablet. Thank you very much for your help.
If you've flashed roms on other phones or tablets in the past then you should be fine. Just don't do anything crazy and you shouldn't brick it. I don't have NV Flash capabilities on mine, though I had the chance to but updated my bootloader anyway. Doesn't bother me as I'm not a dev and won't be doing anything crazy on mine. I've done plenty of flashing on many phones and the Asus Prime in the past, so I'm not worried about it

OK, if you plan to stay on stock the rest of your life then just do the OTA upgrade, however, if you going to mod your tab, then couple things you have to do first and they are very important as it will be your life saving some day.
1. Root and Unlock your device and install latest CWM (not twrp, this one will not work once you on JB)
2. Use NVflash tool to make a backup of your bootloader (very important, life saving). You can not do this step once you on .30 so you are one of a few very lucky person here.
3. Install Voodoo OTA root keeper to temporary save root and restore root after the upgrade.
3. Do the upgrade to .30 then JB
Following the below link for detail instruction for everything).

So has anyone yet figured out a benefit to this update other than killing motochopper (benefit if you're into locking down the world for no good reason, of course)?

Is the manual update available anywhere for the US SKU? I tried to download it from the Asus support website but the file is just completely missing.
I screwed up OTA updates/unlocking somehow when trying to revert to an earlier version so I could reinstall root. By the time I was frustrated enough to finally unlock it, now it won't talk to Asus servers and I can't unlock it.
I can confirm I have Rootkeeper, unrooted before the update as I do all of them, then after the update was able to restore root with no issues. All rooted apps are working fine.

I used twrp to flash the update which when rebooted gave a stock rom, recovery and no root. I then then entered fastboot mode and flashed twrp and backed up my stock unrooted rom. I then flashed my backup of Cromi.X 5rc2
I hope this helps people who like me want to install the latest update from Asus

Hello i temp unroot with ota root keeper in .8 after update .10 i don't see icon RESTOR Anyone have this problem ?
My root is totally failed ? (i root it with motochopper in .8)
Another confirmed case OTA RootKeeper worked.
The first step was I re-enable all the stuff I had disabled. I then used Titanium to make a good backup just in case. After backup completed, I rebooted just to have a clean screen. Went in OTA RootKeeper and do the temp. unroot. Download the update and install. Let the tablet reboot itself and used OTA to restore root.
This was the first time I had a smooth OTA update. The last several messed up (every time) I had to do the full flash to make the tablet useable.

[Q] Downgrade to root??

Hello,
I am attempting to root my Asus Transformer TF700T specs:
Build number: JOP40D.US_epad-10.6.1.14.10-20130801
Kernel version: 3.1.10-gbla9af5
Android version: 4.2.1
This is day three and I have learned much...so thank you all. As I understand it, I need to downgrade to ICS correct? From there, a simple Motochopper, or something similar should work to root this thing right? Or am I off my rocker. From there I hope to have the capability of over-clocking.
Please. A helping hand through this operation would be greatly appreciated. My goal only is to simply over-clock the processor speed 40%. Nothing fancy otherwise. My wife is viciously angry with the "lag" of the tablet and I hoped to do something like over-clocking it.
Thank you all for your important time,
Regards,

To root you only need to downgrade to 10.6.1.14.8.
But I think you need a kernel that supports overclocking and I don't think the stock kernel does.
To run custom software you need to unlock the tablet (and loose the warranty by doing so). But then you can flash a custom recovery and rom like CROMi-X with your choice of kernel. If you run CROMi-X on this tab, you don't even have to oc - your wife will be viciously happy with it anyway

Did you unzip the downloaded zip file once? The result will be another zip and that's the file you need to copy to your SD.

I downloaded the file WW_epaduser_10_6_1_14_8_UpdateLauncher.zip. I unzipped this file resulting inWW_epad-user-10.6.1.14.8.zip.
I copied this fileto the root of the internalsd card. (I have unlocked the tf700t )

Ahhh - good move! If you unlocked you can save yourself the trouble of downgrading! Read this thread, especially post #9 and follow the instructions.

You dont have to downgrade !
There is a plan B
Use Scott's TF700T Recovery Install Tool from here:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22901594685178272
It installs TWRP as well
Then boot holding the Power an Volume button down.
You will find yourself in TWRP.
Make a backup first.
Then choose install and browse to the ROM of choice.
In my case I downloaded CROMi-XDEODEX 5.0.4 earlier from here >> http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23159073880932701
You will find your downloaded file in sdcard/Download
I followed the instructions here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2425383
The Unofficial Transformer Infinity(TF700) ROM & Kernel Listings v 2.0 >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1834521

I have stock virgin TF700T. Will Scott's method only root it? Do I have to unlock it first? Thanks

You have to unlock it first, then use Scotts Tool.
Instructions for unlock here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252563
Also instructions prior to root at the same link.
Follow the instructons, but instead of using Motoshopper, use Scotts Tool.

I know this is ridiculously old but, I'm stuck at "sending recovery"
Got it, I just rebooted and tried again, it went right away.
