OK, if you plan to stay on stock the rest of your life then just do the OTA upgrade, however, if you going to mod your tab, then couple things you have to do first and they are very important as it will be your life saving some day.
1. Root and Unlock your device and install latest CWM (not twrp, this one will not work once you on JB)
2. Use NVflash tool to make a backup of your bootloader (very important, life saving). You can not do this step once you on .30 so you are one of a few very lucky person here.
3. Install Voodoo OTA root keeper to temporary save root and restore root after the upgrade.
3. Do the upgrade to .30 then JB
Following the below link for detail instruction for everything).

Thanks, you are saving my life. I will put here issues

Can I install recovery not using ASUS tool??
Should I do root first before ASUS tool unlocking??

No need to use Asus unlock tool if you just want root. If you want to flash cwm, custom rom/kernel, root while in JB, then you do need Asus tool to unlock your device first.

future of rooting access for B80+

I just got a new TF101 with Serial # B90, and currently using HTJ85B.US_epad-8.6.5.9-20110816 ( maybe be able to upgrade to 8.6.5.13 using the download from Asus' site, or OTA upgrade to some version I don't know) , since Razorclaw is not working for some B80 and beyond, and now that the Transformer Prime has come out, and no news from Razorclaw about rooting B80+ since early Oct, I wonder if they have given up and move up to the Prime? I'm thinking if I can't root it at all, I may just return it to the store.
and I have read some other threads, and some people saying that they have rooted their B90, is there another rooting method that I'm unaware of?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416362
Go to this link and follow my instructions to update to 8.6.6.19 and then use razorclaw
Where should I put the files (ep101_sdupdate.zip and WW_epad-user-8.6.6.19.zip)? Simply drop them in the internal SD? Have I to create a new folder?

i have a b80 rooted with razorclaw...you have to get to 8.6.5.19 for tf101 or 8.6.6.19 for tf101g if you have anyother firmware you wont be able to root with razorclaw. the firmware files are out there. iin your case you will have to update to the 8.6.5.13 first then work your way thru the updates after that to get to .19 im pretty sure thats the only way. correct me if im wrong guys. just dont update ota from asus the 8.6.5.21 update that may be pushed to your device while your updating.
the pose has the file 8.6.6.19, 8.6.6.x is for tf101g, isn't it?
Yes it is, however if you flash it as EP101_SDUPDATE your tab will accept it, then you root with razorclaw, install CWM, then you can flash a custom rom
my tf101 accepted it without renaming - just extracted the zip from within the zip to the root of micro sd card if that makes sense.

oh I see, does it mean that after I upgrade to 8.6.5.13 and then to 8.6.6.19, after I root it with razorclaw, I can use CWM to backup the Asus ROM, and than flash a custom ROM, and able to recover to the Asus ROM using CWM shall I need the warranty?
Yes, adding root and the clockwork really opens up quite a few options

No, not yet. For now, you have to flash back to .30, root it then use OTA keeper to save a backup, then upgrade to JB, then restore root.

You could try to flash Superuser with this recovery and maybe it will work.If after you flashed the Superuser zip you still don't have root, downoad the SuperSU app from market.

How would one flash back to .30 if they're already on JB? I did the same thing...updated to JB without saving root. I do have an unlocked bootloader.

Yes, I can also confirm this method works.
Woohoo! I have root again!
I was gettin worried, downgrading seems like such a hassle
OFFICIAL JB, TF700, WW SKU, C70 serial 64gb
I just wanted that 3.1.x kernel SO bad.
Now to finally start tweaking/debloating it. I can't believe this BLOATED STOCK firmware runs as "smoothly" as it does, compared to stock .22, stock .26 and stock .30 it is hands down worth the hassle.
I have JB that has portrait mode, IPS+ and I can still plug my NTFS formatted portable hard drive into it, that NEVER worked on any of the custom JB roms working around the 2.6.x kernel.
now to see how vnc-loopback-linux-over-android works!
all the excitement, all over again. I've only had this thing for a little over two weeks, but it's so much fun. I love being on the ground floor with new devices, so many risky experimental things to try.
I'm f'n stoked! Haven't gotten bored with it yet!
Keep up the good work everyone!

Yes, you can follow the soft brick recovery in the "All-In-One" thread to downgrade from JB to ICS .30 without unlocking your boot loader.
So, let me get this straight.
Revert to .30, then root, then use Superuser (I have Elite) to OTA save, then apply the JB update, then use Superuser to un OTA save?

How to restore with Nvflash?

I've installed Nvflash and have grabbed the files intended for restore per the instructions. Now I'd like to restore my tablet. I'm on .26 with TRWP installed and am having issues restoring stock recovery. I want to upgrade to .30, then jb. My only known alternative is to use Nvflash. So, can someone point me in the direction of instructions for this process?

Yep, unlocked bootloader. The link you provided is what I've been trying to do. Just like the other person at the end of the thread, I get a signature error during boot and my recovery remains custom with TWRP. I'm not sure what the problem is, this is why I am considering nvflash.

If it's not working for you, you could try to downgrade to .22. Basically, download full .22 version, extract, renamed and copy to your SDcard then use twrp to flash.

Hmmm, I thought the process for getting to jb was to first upgrade to .30. From what I've searched through, I've only found instructions to upgrade to .30 by means of stock recovery. Is it possible to jump straight to jb from .26?

OK let start over. This is how i would do this:
1. Downloaded .26 from Asus site.
2. Unzip and moved the zipfile inside to root of internal sd card.( /mnt/sdcard)
3. Rebooted, your device should found the update and prompt you to update, flashed the update. You should be back on .26 with stock recovery and unrooted.
4. Reroot and download OTA root keeper to save root. Run root keeper to save root
5. OTA to .30. (if OTA is not working, let me know).

I'm already on .26. Should I be downloading .30? Also, even though I have TWRP installed, the tablet should still pick up the fact that there is an update on the memory? Just a side note, I'm unlocked, so ota's will not work for me.

Sure if you want to, download .30. Tablet should pick it up, make sure you unzip it first. Yes, you're correct you have to upgrade using manual process. Every methods here on XDA are not 100% work for everyone (you already knew that). But it should work for most ppl.

Mate do you actually know what you are saying? The JB firmware from Asus site it's a full rom not just an OTA (incremental) update, this means you can update from any version (do you see any word from Asus saying you must be on. 30 before installing?) because everything will be updated (BL, Kernel, etc) so installing this with TWRP will get you Full Stock JB (yes, you will loose twrp too).

I'm not disagree with you! just saying no one here have tried to go straight before. The only question here is the bootloader between .26 and JB is different and why Asus pre upgrade to .30 before JB? IDK, maybe there is a reason, maybe not. Some how I think they need to prep the bootloader on .30 to be ready for JB? again I don't know.

My personal opinion on that is that Asus did this because they made a mess by letting people install TF300T Jelly Bean on TF700T (that should never be possible with locked bootloader and official firmware) so they updated the bootloader on .30 update so ppl could downgrade from that tf300t Jelly Bean rom.Maybe i'm wrong, but it does make sense and if i'm not wrong TF700T is the only transformer device that can downgrade from JB to ICS so easily.
Good news, I was able to flash .30 and now jb. I had no idea it was that simple. I thought I had to be back on stock recovery. Thanks for the help guys.

Guys you can just install the JB firmware from asus. Unzip, flash that file in twrp and boom straight from .26 to JB with no issues. It even keeps all your data.

how to get started with an OTA update maybe?

So i just got my tf700 and I am trying to catch up on what I can and can't do with it as far as OTA updates and custom roms. I have some major questions before I do too much and make an unreversible mistake.
Scenario 1:
Can i unlock the BL, make an NVflash restore point, and then flash any custom rom or perhaps the official CM10 when it is available?
Scenario 2:
Do I need to update to .30 or JB in order to unlock the BL and use any of the newer JB roms or an official CM10?
I have really been reading around, but I can't seem to get the tue answer to these questions. Thanks!

Before you start with anything, follow the nvflash guide. Next you can unlock on any version of the OTA, doesn't matter.
so if I follow the NVflash guide, I can then revert back to day-zero at any time? I was under the impression that after I took the OTA, that I would not be able to use NV flash?
Basically, I would assume that I should be able to stay on .26, unlock the BL, and then flash anything that I would want. I have never played with a device with an unlocked BL. Thanks!

If you have a backup of NVflash, you're god of your device. You could do practically anything and still get yourself back to factory. (flash custom rom with different bootloader like between .26 and JB, relock/unlock bootloader, recover from brick...just named a few).

How can you relock the bootloader if unlocking, which is a requirement for NVflash, permanently destroys the locked bootloader?
As far as I know you *cannot* relock the TF700 bootloader, even if you have NVFlash capabilities.

Yes they occasionally do post them.
So has anyone yet figured out a benefit to this update other than killing motochopper (benefit if you're into locking down the world for no good reason, of course)?

I read the following on transformer forums...
"Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper v2.0.3 preserved root. Did a temp unroot before installing the upgrade then restored and all root needing apps e.g. Titanium are happy."

Is the manual update available anywhere for the US SKU? I tried to download it from the Asus support website but the file is just completely missing.
I screwed up OTA updates/unlocking somehow when trying to revert to an earlier version so I could reinstall root. By the time I was frustrated enough to finally unlock it, now it won't talk to Asus servers and I can't unlock it.
I can confirm I have Rootkeeper, unrooted before the update as I do all of them, then after the update was able to restore root with no issues. All rooted apps are working fine.

Even the kernel source is already up. The only change in the kernel is that they fixed the bug in the framebuffer that was exploited by Motochopper (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255491 for details).

Apparently, fixing security bugs. Maybe more (fixing other bugs), but I don't know.
How I installed the latest update on my unlocked Asus
I downloaded the update from Asus.com and extracted the zip file.
I used twrp to flash the update which when rebooted gave a stock rom, recovery and no root. I then then entered fastboot mode and flashed twrp and backed up my stock unrooted rom. I then flashed my backup of Cromi.X 5rc2
I hope this helps people who like me want to install the latest update from Asus

Hello i temp unroot with ota root keeper in .8 after update .10 i don't see icon RESTOR Anyone have this problem ?
My root is totally failed ? (i root it with motochopper in .8)
Another confirmed case OTA RootKeeper worked.
The first step was I re-enable all the stuff I had disabled. I then used Titanium to make a good backup just in case. After backup completed, I rebooted just to have a clean screen. Went in OTA RootKeeper and do the temp. unroot. Download the update and install. Let the tablet reboot itself and used OTA to restore root.
This was the first time I had a smooth OTA update. The last several messed up (every time) I had to do the full flash to make the tablet useable.
