The HTC logo is coming, and something else happens. I wonder where the error I'm doing. Please help me to have ICS Rom

From what I think you are trying yo say is.....
That after flashing the ROM using cwm (on your HTCdev unlocked phone) you boot to the HTC logo....
To fix you need to extract the boot image from the ROM and flash it in fastboot.
fastboot flash boot boot.img

You need to setup fastboot on your PC and boot your phone into fastboot.
All is well discussed here.

flashing boot.img

Surely noob question but i don't have the answer...
2 days ago, i installed Fallout ans i flash boot.img : the result was ok.
yesterday, i wanted to try blindice 11 so i installed it but no wifi : i flashed the boot-img file of blindice and this time, the wifi worked.
I returned to Fallout yesterday evening because it's my prefered at the moment and i flashed again boot-img file of fallout.
So, my question is : do we have to flash the boot.img file of each rom we want to install ?
Thank's a lot.
I guess that you unlocked your phone with HTCDEV? In that case - yes. Every time.

You don't have to do it every time. Only when the kernel changes. Especially in this case both the roms are using different kernels. BlindIce uses a CM9 kernel which is a modified 2.6 Kernel to work with ICS. Fallout is using the stock HTC 3 Kernel.
So, if you switch between different CM9 versions you may keep the kernel (sometimes yes, sometimes no - read the threads), the same works for different Sense4a ports since they use the same kernel.
Bottom line:
Always if the kernel changes you have to flash the boot.img

This. Most ROM zip files will install it for you. If S-OFFed, it installs automatically. If HTC-DEVed unlocked only, flash manually everytime. This is good mentality when installing roms.

Hey guys, urgent help needed.
I've installed the fallout rom and then my phone got stuck at the loading screen. I did some research and I Think I need to flash boot.img. There was a boot.img in the fallout zip folder, so on my pc i copy pasted it into the folder with fastboot/adb and all those things in it and ran the command prompt. I connected the phone to the pc and tried running the fastboot boot boot.img in command prompt in that folder, but it gets stuck at 'waiting for device'. I don't know how to fix this. I can't go to any settings and enable/disable usb debugging because for that I Will need to go into the operating system however it is stuck at loading screen so I Can't do that.
What do I do? My phone isn't working. Help!
Your phone has to be in the bootloader to run fastboot commands.

Correction it needs to be in fastboot to execute the fastboot commands. I am sure Bill had a typo

Hi,
is it possible to put the boot.img file in an zip.file to flash it over recovery? or is fastboot the only way?

As you are s-off, and there should be no need to flash the kernel via fastboot
The kernel will be flashed when you flash the Rom.

Hi,
ok i read this before. But if i want to try a different kernel i want to know is it possible to put it in an zip-archive and flash it over recorery mode.
for safety i have to backup the current kernel. backup the kernel is only possible over fastboot, right?
greetz
So you're telling if i'm just HTC-Dev unlocked and not S-OFF, i need to get boot.img from the rom zip file and the wireless driver and flash it separately via Fastboot?
In that case, where do i get the boot.img file and most importantly the wireless driver?
Thanks in Advance!
Who said you need to flash a wireless driver? Wireless works out of the box.
You can find the boot.img in the root of your rom archive.
Was that meant to be Windows driver? If you are using fastboot, then your PC will need the right drivers to connect to your device.

When i flash a kernel do i need to flash the boot.img from fastboot?

Do i need to flash the boot.img from the kernel from fastboot before installing the kernel from recovery? Or if this is completely wrong and im crazy, could someone correct me
Many thanks!
Depends on your Hboot. I'd downgrade it if yours is 1.14 or higher

inspire root/ s-off long winded help. i have searched 2 days worth

Ok short start off.. I have a HTC one x. This week it bricked on me. I got a nee one under warranty. While I was waiting for it to arrive I was using my HTC aria. Well a friend sold me a HTC inspire yesterday.. my aria is rooted with unlocked bootloader, inspire I unlocked it too. My original one x was as well.
Ok my aria is running jellybean,
My one x is jb sense 4+
I guess from searching and reading.. the inspire can't flash Roms with a simple unlock bootloader, custom recovery, and su... Or am I readying this wrong? The inspire has the newest ruu.. so it's 3.20 build , wish I knew that made s-off harder.
Is s-off necessary to flash kernals and rims? Or should unlocked bootloader and custom recovery do that with s-on?
You can flash ROMs with S-On. You just need to fastboot flash a boot.img each time.
That explains why it sits at the white HTC screen at boot up and never getting to the Rom also what is a reason some roms won't flash then? Sabsa primes sense v16 won't flash. But the v14 will...
Can you recommend any sense 4 Roms that will flash ? Then I have to fastboot flash the boot.img .. do I use adb pull and push for this ?

That's probably ROM-specific. I don't use Sense so I have no idea. Fastboot is different from adb. Put your phone in fastboot mode from the hboot menu and fastboot flash boot boot.img from your computer.

Ok so flash the Rom in recovery then reboot to bootloader and fastboot flash The boot.img from the Rom.
If this is all that's needed why do people s-off?
Radios. And a couple other things.
This link might further answer your question. Its nothing more than a continuation of what banana has or will say

all kernels can be flashed from recovery
if you are S-ON use 4ext recovery and enable smartflash before flashing a kernel
