Hey guys, have any of you had any issues with some 3d games when using Paranoid Android?
When I play Dead Trigger or Contract Killer 2 the graphics trip out. I am using phone mode and these are the only two games I've noticed it on.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any fixes?
I'm running paranoid Android also and I'm on version 10. I'm not experiencing any problems with games. In fact on my other rom before I installed P. A. I was experiencing a huge lag and this new rom (paranoid Android) is so much better! I'm not having any of those issues now. Maybe try a clean install and see if it helps? Which kernel are you running? I'm running 3.0.50.Dragun Korr. Have you tried that kernel? Maybe it will help? Best wishes. Hopefully your issue will get resolved soon.

I've got the same problem with this game on stock 2.3.4 (after OTA). I even wrote an email to Madfingergames a week ago, but I didn't recived any response till now. Even HR didn't help me, so if you don't plan to wipe your data from other reason - it won't help your Samurai
not so here
samurai 2v runs fine on my phone, never had any problems.
although i am running 2.3.3 and impatiently waiting for 2.3.4 i hear it fixes the app drawer scroll screen problem which is irritating the hell out of me
HD Revolution 3.6 has fixed the problem for me
Don't know if will help you at all but I had the same issue on stock ROM and also the HD Revolution rom. Updated my HTC Sensation to HD Revolution 3.6 today and the issue is now fixed.
Could be worth trying if you're still perservering with Samurai 2....
It seems to be fixed in latest Revolution HD Rom 3.6.0 - Added New Early suspend drivers for 2D and 3D GPU engines (Fixed glitches in Cordy etc.)
The same problem I found in Cordy, Roboto, Samurai II

Hello I have been experienceing issues with graphics on all of the sense based jb roms and no.matter which Rom, or kernel I use the graphics are extremely laggy and the advanced games like batman tdkr, and GTA3, as well GTA VC, and a slew of others freeze, lag, quit responding AMD so on. So my question is are there any devs that know of updated gpu drivers for the one x? Currently I had to downgrade back to stock in order to use 90 percent of what I use

Lately I've been switching back and forth from Stock Samsung JB rom to Custom JB roms (4.2.2) and notice a huge difference in gaming performance and general smoothness.
For me, I feel like all recent custom roms that I've tried, whether its CM10.1, or SLIM6 or AOKP, seem to be a bit laggy when running games compared to the stock JB feel of the same games. It seems like the only way I can get reasonable performance is if I disable hardware overlays, but its still not quite as nice and smooth as stock.
Is this type of thing purely KERNAL controlled? Or is it just the fact that its 4.2.2 and not really optimized for the skyrocket yet? I mean the Android UI feels smoother on custom roms, but in games it does not... I can't wrap my head around that...
Its bugging me because I feel like all these lightweight custom roms should blow away the stock rom in almost all aspects... but if performance can't be better, its a deal breaker for me as daily driver.
I'm sure all the devs are doing their best to work on performance issues and I do appreciate all the hard work going into all the custom roms by the devs, as without them, we'd have nothing to cure our flashing itch of course...
Sorry for my lack of knowledge on this, but does anyone have any proven methods of boosting performance of games?

Hey sorry for the late response.
Hmm, that's interesting. Are you on 10.1 stable or nighties? Hardware overlays disabled?

Oh ok, well are you running any other mods/scripts/tools that would speed up performance? I tried stable as well but it still stuttered for me "out of the box".
ALSO, I can't even get the free game "Subway Surfers" to load off the Play Store at all... does it work for you? It used to work fine for me, but now I'm just getting a black screen on game load (soft keys are lit and system is not frozen), it never starts. I've always done a full wipe, even tried wiping internal SD, and it still won't run. If I go back to stock JB rom, it works perfectly fine everytime....
Maybe the game developer locked it down to only stock kernals with a recent update?!?... is that even possible?

No worries man but thanks for the replys. I went back to a 4.1.2 Rom and everything is fast and smooth again.
Anyone tried asphalt 8 yet?
Mine lags even on lowest setting in the display option.
I've seen a video on youtube about a guy running it smoothly.
I've tried ARHD and Hyperdrive ROM, both lags.
Would it be better on CM or AOKP roms?
I have stock android on my note 10.1, and there is no lag at all. It runs smoothly.
Maybe you have lots of things running causing slowdown... try and clear ram before u start the game maybe.

CM10.2 has been the best for me. But I would like something with more customisations. I'm recently trying PA multi window. Seems OK so far but I'm thinking of going back to CM 10.2.
As for the other ROMs: cromi is good at first but since it is based on stock it starts to develop lag issues, CM11 is kinda buggy as of now, Omni is plain and simple so it doesn't have any customizations other that the multiwindow stuff which is kinda buggy as well with some force closes, CMB is a good ROM if you like the "dark side" lol but it has the same issues as CM11, and PAC is a great ROM unfortunately the AOKP side of the ROM is what causes issues so it ends up having force closes.
I assume you are new to this tablet, so I hope this helps.

I don't suggest using any task managers. First of all, task managers kill processes (apps), they do not close the application correctly. This can cause further system issues. I've had experience with them with my previous devices. Yes, they improve performance, but after several uses (weeks/months) the system might have force closes and/or boot loops. Hope this helps

Does the Android low memory killer do anything special before killing processes?
If you mean the background process limiter in developer options then that's OK.

I was talking specifically about Android's low memory killer (in the kernel), because I don't see it doing anything else than killing processes without notification, just as the task managers you are warning about.
clean master is not a task manager, it does the same thing as android's running tab in settings. Just in a more user friendly interface, and with one click.
