Well, have you? I have. I know I can get at least $325 for it if not the full $350.
I feel like it's a bit of a downgrade but I'd like other opinions. (vanilla is looking pretty nice with JB so distant still)

Vanilla android. Which is a big difference over stock. I have a Nexus 7 and I love the UI.
More battery and more RAM.

Cm10 is pretty close to vanilla. If that's your only reason for switching then so be it. I have one reason why I won't switch. And once that is remedied I'm going to nexus permanently.

Not that performance is not already enough on the ONE X but doesn't the Nexus 4 have a quad core S4 and a significantly more powerful GPU. This makes it about twice as fast as the HOX already and it has a bigger battery and vanilla android and will get the newest Android OS'.
My biggest concern is storage size at 8GB or 16GB isn't much and it just doesn't look as nice as the white HOX.
The fact that it's made by LG turns me off. The HOX is awesome in its own right and I think Sense is great in terms of usability. HTC has come a very long way with refining Sense into what it is now (remember Sense 2.0 and 2.1? *shudder*).
I've had the Tegra 3 version of the HOX, sure the 'benchmarks' said it was better, but in actual usage, the dual-core S3 spanked it. On top of that, LTE! Only time I will ever get a Nexus device is if it is from HTC though.
I'm buying one, but I'm not selling my HOX.

I can recommend it. Been runny nightly builds for about 2 months now, never had any major problems (the occasional reboot or something) but everything works great.
I considered switching, but like the verge review pointed out, the lack of LTE is a hard thing to drop. Stock 4.2 would be really nice, but I bet it'll be available soon (either AOKP or CM10) and I'll just keep my superfast LTE.
No.
Please stop these alternate phone threads.

Me too. LG phones feel and look cheap. They've gotten better recently, but still not up to par with HTC or even Samsung. I'd be interested in a new Nexus phone, but not from LG.
Weren't they talking at one point about 4 or more Nexus devices coming out by years end?
now that i have had a chance to red some reviews i think im going to pass on this
but im going to stick with my HOX and see what comes out in the new year

Thought about it, but I couldn't live without LTE. HSPA+ in San Diego is a laughable joke. A lot of times I can't even stream music when I am driving.

Itll get rooted, but bootloader is locked. With the recent breakthroughs on the Droid X with second init and getting CM7 working, count on aosp working at some point on the Photon also. Motorola may even unlock a few months down the road since they promised no more locked bootloaders.

HTC allows us to unlock but does not allow total root capabilities.
What is the point of unlocking and losing warranty if the phone is not truly yours?
Love the One S LOTS! But why keep it if development will be hampered by HTC?
Not a Samsung fan but I guess it will be my next device. Maybe sooner than later if I can sell the One S or trade for a G-Nex.
Got the S cause of T-Mobile and want true aosp along with full root functions. Thought it would be no problem to get aosp but wow was I wrong! Sense sucks!

The HTC one s has been majorly upgraded it runs ics and sense 4 ( sense 4 is infinitely better than touchwiz if for no other reason the fact that touchwiz5 can be flashed as a zip onto the one s) with no worries to the one s out of the box so you get best of both worlds) has an awesome 4.3 in 900 by 560 screen res but easily a one handed device due to the thin design. Has an amazing camera a great dual core 1.5 MHz thingy ma bob (not the most tech specific term) and i could definately see the smoothness was comparable to the one x's and the gs3 but it has no expandable memory or access to battery. Oh and a HUUUUGGGE plus is that the one s has an alpha cm10 build already. So pretty much the s one is better than the s2 in every thing except for storage, price, and nfc. Seems like a no brainer right! Its just that with a 2 yr contract the one s is $150 vs the gs2's wapping 0 dollars. I could wait for the price to drop but it was at 50$ back in April when I couldn't upgrade so I doubt the price will drop that much. I feel like this post may have answered by own question lol.

All in all I'm happy with the phone. Dual core is awesome, the gig of ram also helps allot. love the bigger screen. And with the 16g internal and the 16g sd card I had from my sgs4g I don't think I will be worrying about storage problems for awhile lol

Its a tough call for me. Nexus devices are supported pretty darn well. I mean, nexus s got jellybean and it can barely run it. (read run it smoothly for longer than two weeks)
But on the other hand, I tried a phone with no sense available, and I realized how much I liked sense (even though I'm only on it like half the time)
But my point is, sense is the slickest, most coherent ui overlay, and that has got to take time to do properly. Yeah, yeah, they drag their heels so we upgrade...but in all fairness, I do think they put a lot of work into it.
I think in the end I've decided that a stable version of sense is worth two of aosp. That's just my personal opinion.
After a decent aosp jellybean was released for desire z, I found myself still running gb sense 2.1. It was just a great OS that was hard to fault.

Why are all you AT&T users so pessimistic. Be happy and enjoy life, love your phone and its amazingness and stop sounding so much like Marvin from The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Always wanted a nexus s when they can out have a inspire 4g right now but had a offer for a Nexus s so what would be best? If anyone has both and could tell me what one is better and why that would help thanks

They look pretty similar, here's the spec sheets for both though if you haven't seen them yet. Looks like your Inspire has more RAM but Nexus has a way bigger hard drive. I've had my NS for a few weeks now and I'm happy with it despite it being two years old. There are some great roms for it too, HTC was a let down for me on the development side. Plus it's just a sexy looking phone I would make the trade if the condition is similar on the two but that's just me, I'll take pure android over Sense any day.

Yeah I think the ns looks way better over the inspire but the inspire is running 4.2 nicely how is the NS at 4.2

The 4.2 roms I've tried are great, very little lag if any with the right kernel. I think the drop in ram will be your biggest issue though, may not be quite as smooth as yours.

I got my Nexus S 2 months ago and I don't regret buying it. If there are a right developers, device will be never dead.
P.S. It has such a small quadrant's results, but i don't belive in **** like benchmarks. MC4 works awesome, even better than on 2.3 or 4.0/4.1.

The develpoment section is better for the Nexus, the sexyness is undoutible asswell, just turn the screen of on it and look! (Nexus looks more modern do you see how new devices tend to have round corners?)...if you are not certan on the other owner's phone do not traid but if the device is ok, do it in a heartbeat!
