Anyone else experiencing this? Would love to use it because I really like the transparent notification bar and the circles widget, but it just seems really choppy when I open the app drawer and slide to the quick settings page. Any suggestions to help with the lag?

Quick Settings page has a bit of lag for sure. I've heard that removing the Circles widget helps but IMHO it's not worth the minor inconvenience.
It is laggy. It was laggy on the GNex with JB but I thought that was because the launcher wasn't native to the Nexus so I went back to Nova Launcher.
BUT yea its definitely laggy on the RAZR HD. Hell, even Nova Launcher has its more than occasional hiccups on it where on the Nexus it was butter.
Its mainly laggy and jittery when you swipe to the quick settings screen and when you go to the app drawer. Not all the time with the quick settings but every time with the drawer.
I'm hoping jellybean will fix some of those issues where ICS is jittery and simply not buttery

I wanted to change this laggy launcher but circles doesn't work on nova launcher, I'm disappointed
In my experience, there wasn't much difference between ICS & JB stock launchers. I turned to NOVA and it is a lot smoother (in JB).

In what way is the notification bar transparent? It is black on my phone. If transparent how can I get my live wallpaper to flow into the notification bar?
Thanks!
The notification bar isn't completely transparent. Maybe like 50%

It doesn't look the least bit transparent to me. Can you explain how to get that effect? Is it some special setting or wallpaper?

I figured it out partially. I have widgetsoid installed. It was opaque and somehow made the notification bar opaque. I made the widgetsoid transparent and it made my notifier bar transparent... But only for static wallpaper. When I use live wallpaper it doesn't extend under the notifier for some reason. Maybe someone can help me out with a fix? I prefer live wallpaper but love the transparency.
Just tried the live wallpaper on mine. Not transparent when I use it
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
I found I had an app that screwed up transparency somehow. It is an excellent app which replaces the stock auto brightness settings with user adjusted and set auto brightness. I loved it because I like the phone a little darker indoors and brighter outdoors than the Motorola settings. I've uninstalled the app but since live wallpaper doesn't work with transparency I may go back to it. In the meantime I'm enjoying something I never knew I had!

I didn't change anything on my parameters and with somme backgrounds it's transparent and with others it's not... Don't know why...

Ya, it's weird that it won't slide. Never had a phone that didn't. I love the transparent bars but prefer live wallpaper. If somebody writes a stable rom that does that i will root and try it.

I recently tried this launcher and quickly enjoyed the simplicity wp7 offers but don't want to go to wp7 phone any time soon.
Most of my icons are from the metro ui packs but didn't go with metro ui because the tiles look smaller while launcher 7 tiles take up the right amount of room on my screen.
For the live weather tile I use fancy widget pro you have two options for the weather widget and works well for me.
Update- launcher 7 now has landscape support which is good and much better live contact tile image updates.

Hahaha, I don't emphasize on wall papers so I just made my 1x1 tiles clear and so far it works well for me since i made my important apps tiles huge and keep most at the very bottom of my list.

Here's a quick write up on how it was achieved.
Transitioning Wallpaper was made using this:
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.tamanegi.wallpaper.multipicture
I created a folder for each "hub" containing appropriate wallpapers (ex. music, games, home etc.) and used the app to point individual screens to individual folders. I've changed the settings to rotate the wallpapers every 5 seconds and change upon double tap.
The "quick view" section on my "Home Hub" was achieved using minimalistic text and just expanded the dark background, overlapping the "weather" widget (beautiful widget>weather forecast)
Widgets used were from:
Pulse
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.alphonso.pulse
Music
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tbig.playerpro&feature=search_result
Despite all these running on my nook, everything else is smooth and no noticeable impact on battery life (OC to 1.1 ghz).Anything else i missed please let me know.
Just saw the video. And wow. This is just brilliant. Reminds me of the LauncherPro wallpaper tab screens
Could you share some more info about the launcher and layout etc?
Sent from inside a whale.
sure. I'm using ADW EX with a 10x10 grid. I turned off all transitions as they seem to lag the screen a tiny bit. Those black bars were created using minimalistic text background and stretched to overlap the icons/widget.
So it could (in theory) work with normal ADW, but mod the backup file for 10x10
Using ADW EX for my honeycomb layout, and this would be a nice change. Ill try it out asap and post screens
And is it possibly for you to post your wallpapers you used? Just to get the size right and have a base to work from
Sent from inside a whale.
sure it can. however ive heard it does cause problems.
check this thread out for more info and i'll upload some walls later when i get the time

Hi All Hubs Fans,
I'm newbie in Android, going to get galaxy tab plus in 3 day later but i still deciding shall i go for 7.0", 8.9" or 10.1" size? My country "Asia" Galaxy tab 7.0" plus came with phone call function and i prefer 7.0" instead of other because of the phone call function. But problem is did those Hubs software support 7.0" and i wonder how it look like seem the screen are smaller. I try search Google, Xda and Youtube, no single clue on it.
If anyone did apply Hubs over Galaxy Tab 7 plus, please share your screenshot and advise here.
Thanks in advance

My first atempt and "Hubs"
I really liked this concept so I decided to give it a try myself, this is what I got so far:
Also by sliding down on the dockbar you get an option to choose a screen to jump to:
As I said, this is a WIP but I'm quite happy with the outcome so far ^^
I'm starting this thread so that everyone can showoff their creativity in making Awesome Homescreens.
I myself put a lot of effort in customizing my Homescreens.
While posting your homescreens, please be specific on what you used to achieve it (eg. Name of widget or wallpaper).
So ill start with 2 homescreens which even got FEATURED on lifehacker.com
1. The Evil Android Homescreen.

Lifehacker link.
I customized my homescreen to make it look simple, neat and smart, and it goes well with the Gingerbread green color.
I'm using the stock Gingerbread OS on my Samsung Galaxy SL with GO Launcher Ex as the launcher.
I am not using many widgets on my screen as I really like the wallpaper.
The Evil Android under the torn layer.
I've mainly kept all the Internet apps on the center screen. I use Minimalistic Text for the date.
You can tap the date to open any calendar app.
I've not kept any clock widget as the time is always there in the notification bar.
The black circle in the center is the Circle Launcher for more Internet apps which I don't use often but should be accessible quickly if I do need them. I also use Switch Pro for the Data connection and Bluetooth widget.
On the left screen, I again use Minimalistic Text for the battery. You can tap the widget to open the Battery Usage screen. I've kept this screen for things I don't do many times in a day (eg. Keep an alarm, Calculate things, or update or download a new app) but at the same time they shouldn't be far when I need them.
The right screen screen is for other utilities which I use regularly. I use Phantom Music Control for the music widget, which controls PowerAmp.
Though PowerAmp has its own widgets, I couldn't make those fit properly in the area I wanted and also there are no skins available for those widgets. So I'm using the Phantom Music Control widget as it gives options for customization including skins.
The icons are not included with any GO Launcher theme. I found some of them on the internet and others I've photoshopped. I made the wallpaper merging the Evil Android wallpaper which I found on Lifehacker and another from DeviantArt.
Click to collapse
The second Homescreen.
2. The Aged Paper Homescreen.
Lifehacker link.
What I've done here is that I used this wallpaper, and cropped it in multiples of my screen resolution (480x800). That is, since I'm using three screens I cropped it in the resolution 1440x800.
I'm using GO Launcher EX launcher which uses a grid based home screen layout, so I created a grid in Photoshop to map the text icons. Those text icons are not actually icons.
I used the text tool in Photoshop to create them using various handwriting fonts which I found on the internet. Those texts are on the wallpaper itself.
The reason behind this was it gave me freedom to orient the text in any way i wanted and could use more space on the home screen. If I had made an icon file of the text and then had replaced it on the screen then that would had confined the text in the grid box which sometimes results in cropping of the icon depending on available space.
I used MultiPicture Live Wallpaper to set each screen's wallpaper. This allowed me to use the whole image as the wallpaper. After setting each screen's wallpaper I used a "blank" icon to replace each home screen icon.
When it comes to widgets: On the home screen and the left screen I've used Minimalistic Text with one of the fonts. The Data connection and Bluetooth toggle is Switch Prowidgets. Lastly, PowerAmp is on the Right screen.

Sorry if its been mentioned already but I got an update from the play store today for adw ex. I must say its quite a significant improvement. The updated ui feels very ICS-ish and works well with some of the ics themes out there.

Adw ex is a launcher that works with all versions I believe. The theme in my screens is actually two themes used together. I have an ics theme applied within the adw ex launcher as well as a cm7 ics theme. I'm currently using all these apps on CM7 gb 2.3.7

Been using ADW for a long time now on both tablet and phone. Main annoyance on my tablet is the "action bar". If I disable it, or add a gesture to show/hide it, the space it's in is always there. So my top row widgets are never at the top anymore. Also, this morning when playing around with transitions I change the app drawer style to horizontal slide (or something) and made both my devises unresponsive on the the home screens. Phone I couple open settings with the bottom button and change it back from there, and then had to reboot. On my tablet though, had no accessible settings button. Had to use main settings to clear defaults and go back to default launcher, uninstall ADW, and then reload the last titanium backup of it.
Oh, and my phone and tablet homescreens. Tablet is running Thunderstorm Live Wallpaper.

Hello everyone.
I was wondering if it was possible to set up the status/notification bar to adapt its colour to the top bar of the app I'm using. Like iOS7, just to clarify.
I've read this is supported by the stock version of KitKat, but it has to be activated by the developers of each app, because it's a "transparency" more than a proper colour switch.
Are there other ways to do it?
Thank you very much
I've seen pacman roms run that natively. It looks really nice too!

+1 to this. Works great. Only a few apps that I have found so far that don't do it. If the top of the app has graphics instead of a solid color.
My only issue is at this point it doesn't work for the battery. Most changes aren't working for the battery yet. Gravity xposed can change it, but it still won't change the color on the status bar yet.

You can set the colors custom for each app. I get the majority of apps to work with it unless they set a gradient or picture as the background for their actionbar.

Yeah that module works great, too bad the status bar becomes flashy-white when changing, that's really distracting and gives a sort of "bug" feeling to the feature.
Hope it will be addressed soon

Wow thanks for this. It works so well I just changed all my blacked out apps back to stock.
My only complaint is that if I have an app open, when I lock the screen the color of the status bar still shows through

My only problem is that it breaks transparent bars.

On any apps(like Nova launcher) that have a transparent bar I go into the app and manually change it to transparent instead of auto detect.

Gah. It won't let you set it as transparent in the module's options??? I uninstalled GEL as soon as Nova beta was available as I don't use Google Now so I don't know. It broke the transparent status bar on Nova too but I was able to use the module to force transparency on my home screens. You have to manually set it as transparent and not have it set to auto detect.

Chameleon engine does this

tinted statusbar and kitkat/GEL:
"It also allows you to have the KitKat gradient on devices that support this module, use 66000000 as the color to achieve that"

I downloaded this as I had never heard of it before reading your post.
I'm assuming chameleon engine only works for the stock status bar and nav buttons?

Not sure, but it's built-in in thinkingbridge ROM and I can tell you it works in that ROM
