Hello everyone.
I was wondering if it was possible to set up the status/notification bar to adapt its colour to the top bar of the app I'm using. Like iOS7, just to clarify.
I've read this is supported by the stock version of KitKat, but it has to be activated by the developers of each app, because it's a "transparency" more than a proper colour switch.
Are there other ways to do it?
Thank you very much
I've seen pacman roms run that natively. It looks really nice too!

+1 to this. Works great. Only a few apps that I have found so far that don't do it. If the top of the app has graphics instead of a solid color.
My only issue is at this point it doesn't work for the battery. Most changes aren't working for the battery yet. Gravity xposed can change it, but it still won't change the color on the status bar yet.

You can set the colors custom for each app. I get the majority of apps to work with it unless they set a gradient or picture as the background for their actionbar.

Yeah that module works great, too bad the status bar becomes flashy-white when changing, that's really distracting and gives a sort of "bug" feeling to the feature.
Hope it will be addressed soon

On any apps(like Nova launcher) that have a transparent bar I go into the app and manually change it to transparent instead of auto detect.

Gah. It won't let you set it as transparent in the module's options??? I uninstalled GEL as soon as Nova beta was available as I don't use Google Now so I don't know. It broke the transparent status bar on Nova too but I was able to use the module to force transparency on my home screens. You have to manually set it as transparent and not have it set to auto detect.

Awesome man, that's perfect. Now I just have to figure out how to get rid of the carrier label altogether . Any ideas? BTW, how'd you change your font?
I use the liberty 1.5 rom, it has a bunch of options for fonts and lets you change the carrier name out to whatever you want. So far its been very stable for me and much quicker than stock.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Yeah, I saw the font options, but I'm not sure what adding a font does.. for instance, what'd you do in the toolbox that sets the widget font?
And I'm not talking about changing the text, I'd like to find a way to remove that whole bar, 'cause it just takes up space. I think you can do it in stock.. it's called a "roaming banner" i think
Changing the font effects all the text, everything from Widgets to menus to even the text on most websites in the default browser. It even changed the font in my clock widget. As far as removing the carrier label on the notifications I'm not sure how to remove that waste of space. I never looked into it but now since you mentioned it it's bugging me too. Let me know if you do find a way to remove it.

You long press on the home screen and select add widget like you would when adding a widget to the home screen, select widgetsoid then select a switcher widget. Pick the options you want it to have then go to the advanced tab and select both notification and make invisable. Click apply and it should now show up in the notifications bar. If you want to edit it just open widgetsroid and it will be in the widget tab. Hope this helps.

You can remove it with a metamorph, if you edit the xml in /layout/status_bar_expanded.xml I'm trying to put one together to do this. Right now I've managed to remove the grey area, only thing missing is moving the "clear" button some place else.

Have you been able to figure out a way to move or resize the clear button yet? I really wish I could move it to the bottom of the notification bar. Better yet, I wish there was an app/widget that automatically cleared all new notifications. Been looking for something like that for months without any luck...
I'm racking my brain trying to find a working 4g toggle for Ginger 2.3.4.
Anyone know of one?
Bump. I'm looking for something too. Have tried several on the market... and no go.
Also kills me that 2.3.4 doesn't allow applications to automatically toggle GPS -- so lots of my tasker profiles aren't working.
What I've been doing to turn 4G on and off is, I have Bar Control (on market) set up -- adds shortcuts to notification pull down. I add a shortcut to the 4G settings (first in the list). It's 2 clicks versus 1... better than going through 'Settings' for now.
I'm also looking for the same thing... and that matches the look of the stock 2.3

I purchased extended controls a long time ago and SOME of those toggles work but it's buggy, of course no working 4G toggle....
What aggravates me is that the stock power controls works fine, and that Google didn't add a 4G toggle to it.
I also noticed no gps toggle widgets work either. Only the default power control toggle works for gps.

The reason none of you have found a way to get a 4G toggle working/created for the NS4G is because Samsung has not released the API to access the 4G radio on their hardware.
See similar threads in the Epic 4G forum.

For what it's worth, since there's another thread almost identical to this in the themes section, I'm gonna paste a post i just made there-- if it helps anyone trying to do this.
______________
This is only a little workaround until we get the true notification toggles. This is not a toggle -- it's just a shortcut to the 4G settings screen. But still way easier.
When you load bar control, I'm pretty sure you choose that first 4G icon (with no icon). Selecting that puts it in your notification bar (second screen shot). Then, selecting it from your notification bar should bring you to the 3rd screen shot.
I'm still workin on a theme there.. so colors a little funky

Installation:
A video to help you along:
Big thanks to Nath Ward of Nathtech for the video!
(Features may be outdated)
I changed the signature to a more consistent debug one. If you are already using Chronus, you need to uninstall and reinstall to update!
1. Download the apk
2. Try to install it normally
3. If that fails, copy it to /system/app
4. Reboot
5. Add it to your lockscreen
Changelog (unofficial)
8/1/13:
Analogue clock now available
Translations updated
Text Shadow
4/1/13:
- New coloured weather icons
- New bold options
- New calendar options
- New preferences interface (icons and lists)
Installs on Nexus7 but weather and calendar don't show.
Edit. Got it now, you have to adjust the widget size on the home screen to see everything. Doh!

On/off slider to on
Select the app, change the dpi to "240"
Click save and when it prompts you to kill the app select yes.
You should now have a 240 dpi home screen but the notification bar will be 200 or the dpi you choose. All other Apps will run at the dpi you selected and since Google play sees 240 you will still get all your app update notification. I confirmed this by un installing an app I know to have dpi issues in the past (shazam won't install on other random dpi's)

Guys I got a brilliant idea, how about when we receive a text message, blood just oozes from the top of the screen while utilizing the vibe function and the SMS tone. Lol

That's ridiculous... What we need is for every letter to be a different random color. And... I'd like the dots above the i to be little hearts. Devs... Get right on this ok?

TRYING TO FIX SOME STUFF
Thanks! Sorry the screenshots look bad:silly:
Sorry the toggles are not 100% accurate, and the expanded status bar background is not themed. This is mainly because Axis Rom is partiality integrated with the settings app.
Changelog
Version 1.0- Initial Release
Version 1.1- Added more status bar icons, carrier logo, Xperia fonts and centered clock
Version 1.6.1- News Status bar, clocks, icons, settings icons, removed SOMA font, etc.
Version 6.00- Merged changes from previous versions

I see this says it is only supported for the international Galaxy s3.
This will work for I535 correct?

Thanks for porting this over. Mixed results on Beans 8. Pulldown toggles doesn't have text on his, so that's my guess. Beautiful theme.
Plans for a center clock option, perhaps?

Thanks, I will try to add a center clock version tomorrow.

It should work fine, it uses the villain theme system so it doesn't replace apks like traditional theming.

I've always flashed kinda crap mods to get toggle text back, then flash theme on top. Works with wasabi themes, not sure about this one as I haven't tried it yet.

Just installed over The Executioner 3. Doesn't seem to work properly. SystemUI keeps crashing. What does load, looks fantastic though! I look forward to a working version.

Just tried it. Got system ui FC with no status bar. Verified that kindacrap worked fine as I rebooted after flash.
Flashed Wasabi afterwards to see if that would fix it - same result.

Theme looks fantastic and works great on Galaxy Mod. Very well done.
I noticed a few key icons weren't themed though, like phone, browser, email and gallery. Are these in development or should they already be there?
Thanks again for porting this. Its awesome.

If we flash a themed app, then an update comes out for said app on the play store, would we not see that update?
This theme looks amazing btw thanks! First theme that appeals to me besides stock tw and I've looked at a lot of them.

Cool...good to hear...the theme looks AWESOME...Im just always weary about flashing themes and what they may inadvertently do to any under the hood or behind the scenes tweaks that the ROM devs make...
