[Q] Nexus S Old American PUT number ??? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Nexus S (GT-I9023) went dead 3 months ago. It was not booting past the CM9 boot image.
And I was unable to write anything on the phone's memory. It wasn't even formatting.
I gave it to Samsung service and they said that motherboard needs to be replaced.
I then contacted a local technician for this and for the last 1 week that guy is working with my dead/locked Nexus S.
He is stuck at a point where my Nexus S is asking for some sort of code .. "Old American PUT number. I had GT-I9023".
Any idea what this is ? the Old American PUT number ??

unlocking phone

Hi guys, I hope this is the right area to post this, sorry I am fairly new and couldn't find a better place
I have a samsung spica gt i5700 and a few months ago I flashed the firmware so now I have android 2.2 on it. Yesterday I changed network provider and moved to 3 (from Tmobile) so my tmobila number will be unusable tomorrow the latest. What the idiots at tmobile failed to tell me is that the phone is locked to a t mobile simcard, so I can't use the other sim. I need to unlock the phone so I asked t mobile and they want £15 and 28 days to do it - unreasonable. Walked in the local off-license-unlocking-hut and the guy tried but it didn't manage to unlock it because he said that having flashed the operating system makes things complicated and he said he can't do it.
So now, can anybody kindly let me know how I get my phone unlocked please, any guide or anybody who can walk me through the process please?
thank you

Help! Sim card not detected

Hello,
I bought this samsung galaxy 2 p3100 model after beggin my father so much. But two day ago it suddenly stopped recognising my sim card. I didnt do any rooting or what so ever. But I installed an anti theft software. Im not sure whether this is the cause. I tried using different sims, but result is the same. (I did the factory restore as well)
If my father finds this out he is gonna kill me...:crying:
And the nearest repair center is 240 km away and it takes nearly 7 hours to get there.
IMEI number is displayed but MDN and ERI version numbers are not displayed on the tab. It says "UNKNOWN"...
Please help me.... :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

if I rooted GS3, will that solve PUK2 code need?

I have Samsung Galaxy S3 from AT&T and it's 4 yrs old and already unlocked from AT&T.
Now my 8 yrs old daughter has to come back to home everytime her friends' treat her when she play at their house according to her needed.
So I got H2O Sim card and $10 for 3 months prepaid and put in the phone and activate. All are running good.
But I want to do some restriction. So I blocked all call except in her contact list. But to configure Fixed Dial Number I have to put PIN and got wrong all three times. So I need PUK2 number (8 digit) and called AT&T. Unfortunately that one was old and can't retreat that S3 PUK.
So if I rooted my phone with custom rom is that will solve?
If so, which rom is easy for young kid as well as for me to install.
If there anyway to solve that problem out, please kindly help me out.
Galaxy S3 with stock rom 4.4.2
thanks a lot in advance

Unable to Factory Unlock My Phone

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge +, T-Mobile. I called T-Mobile to have the phone unlocked so I could sell it. Should be a simple procedure. . .but they are unable to do so because they claim the IMEI number is not registered with them and therefore it isn't a T-Mobile phone. The box it came in says T-Mobile, when it boots up the T-Mobile logo appears, I am using their network to call and text, my bill shows the line is active and working, confirmed they have the correct IMEI number. The phone rep said it is a Samsung issue and to call them. I did, and was abruptly told they have nothing to do with unlocking the phone and bounced me back to T-Mobile. . .who just told me they will put in a request for tech support and I should hear back from them in 5 days. WTF?!
What's a guy to do??!

Did you buy the device new or used?
If it's used, are you sure it hasn't been flashed with the IMEI from a different device? Are you sure it isn't a non-Tmobile device that has been flashed with Tmobile stock firmware?
Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
The phone was purchased direct from Samsung. It has never been flashed or altered in any way. When I contacted Samsung they confirmed that the IMEI I gave them shows in their database as a T-Mobile phone. So all fingers point to a screw up of some kind with T-Mobile.
