Anker battery in Canada - Desire HD Accessories

I can't get any delivered to Canada from ebay. Mugen are expensive and I'm not sure if I should bother with another stock battery. Android tells me me battery is in "good" condition. So where to find an Anker in Canada?

Can't you buy from Amazon?
I got it from there for Greece.
Powered by my IceCold 8.6.1 DHD

Even the American Amazon site won't deliver to these batteries to Canada.

If it's a matter of no shipping of any batteries, it's not about Anker only then.
Only solution to find it at any local supplier then.

I can get other batteries delivered to Canada. Cheap Ebay batteries, OEM HTC batteries, Mugen batteries. Just no one willing to ship Anker batteries to Canada. At least I can't find someone so far.

Apparently so. That's why I want one....so cheap. But make sure you get one that says HTC desire HD if that's the phone you have.

Unrealiable ! Their claim about 1600mAh, but it is only around 1250mAh+/-15% as same as stock battery. (I use battery monitor widget pro to measured one's 1600mAh that i bought for 10bugs)
However you can buy as a spare battery with that price instead of OEM battery

way late reply for you here.... doing a random web search to see if they had a Canadian store yet..
they have limited on amazon.ca it appears recently. very limited. might be worth while to contact their amazon.ca store support for laptopmate canada to add items you are looking for.
about 8 months ago i found their ebay.com store and noticed that some items would ship to canada and some wouldnt so i emailed them and they updated them to ship to canada so i could buy them.
about 3 months ago i noticed that nothing would ship to canada so i emailed them and ended up making a paypal payment direct and emailing them a list and my address.

Do you have a link? I just searched "anker desire hd" on amazon.ca and nothing showed up.

Just bought the dual 1800 maH Anker batteries for Motorola Atrix 4g. Originally couldn't get it off the Amazon.com link. Saw the post by Askcunak and tried off Amazon.ca. Bam, it's on it's way in 5 days.

My guess is, only a select few batteries are available on the .ca site, and if you can't find it there you're S.O.L.
Good luck

I just got a lenmar 1160mah battery through the source for $29.95 plus tax. I ordered it two days ago and picked it up tonight. I'm waiting until bedtime to give it a full overnight charge so I will report back on it after a couple days.

So, how your battery performance ? does it actual 1160mAh ?
I've just ordered one Coral 1300mAh from Korean-eBay (Gmarket) - 15$
wait for check...
I don't believe in such high capacity battery for DHD -1600, 1800,... mah any more since all of them are 10000% FAKE. Since, i purchased one 1600mAh (8,5$) after got it and checked - it was only ~900mAh then after 3months of usage - it droped to ~600mah Bull****!

First charge I'm at 30 hours with 2.5 hours screen on time. Down to 4%. It uses like 2% overnight in standby. I leave 3g off unless I'm using it. Looks to me like they just rated this battery honestly instead of overrating. I don't think the OEM battery could be much if any better. I bought it used with the battery already shot so I never used with new OEM battery.

I haven't checked actual capacity yet. Just going through the first couple cycles to give the best breakin possible for the battery.
I will probably check it later but I imagine its pretty accurate. I can easily go 2 days normal usage for me now. I don't usually use it as much as I did yesterday. I wanted to use it enough to recharge at bedtime but it wasn't low enough to want to charge it yet.
I know that deep discharges aren't good but apparently the first few cycles they are. I spent some time researching and that's my conclusion.

After 3 cycles of charged/discharged, I can confirm this battery is as good as HTC-OEM battery
measured by Battery widget pro apk, it shows that the battery can reach 1260mAh+/- 8%

Yeah stretching it is only useful the 1st 2 or 3 cycles. After that it would be best to not let it drop below 50%. While it's not neccasery it will improve life of the battery.
When my DHD was not able to survive a whole day on charge i bought an external battery, so i could charge before it hit 50%.
Now my battery is back to normal and can do a whole day again without recharge in the middle of the day.
I also bought 2 battery's of ebay(.com) they were dirt cheap like 3bucks a piece. They were listed as 1400mAh, but batt monitor displayed them as 1000mAh. But i now use them for other stuff as my stock battery is back to business.
I don't dare to put those cheapo's in the DHD as i've seen them bulge a lot under use, and in the DHD its to tight of a fit.
Now i have a rechargable flashlight on lithium power.

[Battery] Epic Touch 4G Battery With The Fascinate

So after reading about vibrant users having success with using the epic touch 4g battery. I figured I'd order one up. Why? Well both of my batteries are a year old and I can tell they have degraded over time. And this one is 300mAh MOAR!!!! than the stock 1500mAh battery that came with this device.
http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wireless/store/productdetail.asp?productid=28506
The new battery is just about 1/64th of an inch thicker than the fascinate stock battery but it still works with the stock battery cover. Just into the first full charge and I can tell a difference already with screen on time at an hour with 84% left. Where normally after an hour of screen from a full charge I would be at 70%. The one thing I notice though is the battery does not charge in my spare charger that I got from vzw a year ago. It must have the same hardware check that the phone does. But since I'm running an mtd rom it charges fine in the device since the hardware check is not included within mtd kernel source.
***TOUCH WIZ USERS*** The fascinate has a hardware check that will only allow for the use of "vzw" specific batteries. So before you order one confirm that your current custom kernel has the hardware check disabled and that you can use/charge 3rd party batteries.
good day.
how do you check for the hardware disable. im running on the GeeWiz 2.0 Alpha EI20
Ask whoever compiled your kernel.
I've been using the Epic 1500 mah batteries for a long time now. I was getting them off eBay for $2 a piece including shipping brand new out of China. Just ordered 2 more this morning, although they've gone up to ~$4 each with shipping. I use two external aftermarket chargers as well, so I rarely ever charge them in the phone. That's why I've never understood the battery life worry, I just carry a spare battery. (Have 7 now, but we have two fascinates in the house)

errr right.... But the battery in the the op is from the sgsII line and not the original sgs variants. The fact that the epic sgsII came stock with 1800mAh is what I was interested in.
good day.
Yeah I realize that, my point was even though that battery is cheaper than the OEM battery for our phone, the battery I mentioned is still a fraction of each. At $3.70 a battery I can have a lot of 1500 mah batteries to one 1800 mah batteries. Although I may have to check eBay and see if I can find the new 1800 ones dirt cheap too.
Nice info chopper

Thanks for the great info. Just ordered one for my Fascinate running MIUI/Glitch. The additional 20% in battery capacity will definitely be welcome.
I too just ordered one, I need the extra battery, I eat it up at work and then dont have enuf left for the night time. I love my phone and I always seem to need to do something on it.
Very pleased so far. I wanted to give a couple charge cycles and time to settle in. But it almost feels like them good ole DJ05 days of yesteryear in the battery department with this thing. I had ALOT of downtime today at work and hammered the device (found a sweet disc golf game and logged about 1 1/2 just on that ) today and just watched the battery level trickle down. And even did some maps with gps today (who knew there are like 4 sheridan rd's on the north side of chicago that run e/w and n/s) cause we got lost.
Background of my current set up:
Pool Party 1.4.1 (mtd rom) which includes jt0912 kernel within rom.
I sync gmail and have fancy widgets update every hour. Twitter is done via a colorize widget that I have set to manually update when I feel like it. The rest of the screen time is reading emails and xda and rootz apps with some surfing in between gaming. My screen brightness setting is always at 45%. Oh yeah forgot, 25 minutes of talk as well.

I got the new Epic Touch 4G battery yesterday. I charged it to 100% with the phone off, rebooted into recovery and cleared Batt Stats. Today I'm going to let the phone run down to almost nothing before charging again. Any other suggestions for maximizing battery life?
Also, Chopper I noticed your Cell Standby is much lower than mine, I'm at 24% and my Display is at 14% with only 1h 25m time on. Any suggestions on improving/reducing Cell Standby battery usage?
I'm running MIUI 1.9.16, the last Glitch kernel, and the EC09 radio.
Thanks.

Well, shoot. Was gonna post a big hullabaloo about finding this battery in the Vibrant forums, and I've been beaten to the punch. Oh well. Here's what I was gonna write. Er... copy and paste?
Hello there, Fascinate people! Visitor from the Vibrant forums here. We found and tested an 1800mah battery that, while intended for the Epic Touch 4G, fits and works perfectly in the Galaxy S and all it's variants. I've personally tested it in a Samsung Fascinate and a Samsung Vibrant. The Fascinate was a tighter fit than the Vibrant, but the battery door closed just fine.
I've personally tested the battery over the past week and it lasts significantly longer than the default 1500mah battery (I'm a relatively new Vibrant user, so my battery is only a couple months old). The math seems to match up with the 1800mah claim. To be clear, this isn't as surprising as it would be if this were a random Chinese ebay battery. This battery is made by Samsung for the Epic Touch 4G. It's noticeably thicker than the stock Galaxy S battery, but not so thick that the battery door on the Vibrant and Fascinate won't close completely.
The battery can be found here:
http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wireless/store/productdetail.asp?productid=28506
I spent quite a bit of time trying to find the best 3rd party battery for my phone, and lo and behold, the best one comes from Samsung itself.
If you'd like to read more than just my humble opinion, here is a link to the thread started in the Vibrant forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1262035
Hope this information is helpful. Enjoy your Galaxy S!
this battery does indeed work very well. the battery is bigger and the door does fit tight, but the door does close completely. just started using it and am noticing significant gains after 12 hours of use. I will post back after a few charge discharge cycles with current setup and screenshots.

I have two of those.chargers, never used the USB port though. Mine did not come with cables though, you can use.the stock one if you wanted. I've bought 8 batteries out of Hong Kong, all OEM Samsung batteries, never had an issue or problem. Just got 2 in the mail today actually. If you have an external charger and multiple batteries there really isn't much of a reason to plug your phone in on a regular basis anyways.

can you link me to the ones that you buy? I just ordered the naztech one but i can return it if its a huge cost/efficiency difference

new battery makes a world of difference!!!

I noticed one day that my battery stats wouldn't reset after charging it or a battery pull. If the battery was anywhere above 50% and I did a pull, it would restart showing 100%. It ended up getting to the point that I couldn't use the phone for more than 5 minutes straight because it would die. I've had the phone almost a year, so I didn't think the battery would go out so quickly.
I went to the Tmobile store and they pulled the battery and told me to feel it. There is a hump/rounding that happens to the battery when it is shot or overcharged or something like that.
I got my replacement in yesterday and charged it to 100%, then did a battery calibration this morning at 0430 after I took it off the charger. Here it is 0032 and I have 25% battery life left! Now, I am running Juicy Defender in aggressive mode, so I'm sure that helps quite a bit.
Other than that, I've been running CM7's last nightly (#252 I think), Radio 26.09.04.26, and kernel faux 1.0.7 CFS+ low voltage.a
I wanted to share in case anyone was having similar issues. I also forgot to mention that I got the battery for free and just had to pay for the standard ground shipping. Can't beat that!!

Well, screen on time is the real teller. Usually between 3 and 4 hours. When you see people getting 4 plus, you know their ROM/kernel/tweaks combo is dialed.
To illustrate, I charged and unplugged my phone before bed. When I got up it was at 11h 5m, 100%. But it had been laying there. 10 min after I started using it, it started dropping.

pinch the battery around the middle and slide your fingers toward the top of it (away from the contacts), then reverse. See if you feel a rounding or slight hump. If you do, then you might be due for one.
Can't really feel it.can it be something else or only cause of that?.does it have to feel or can the bump be noticeble too
Same here, I bought a new battery last week and this new battery is making one hell of a difference. Getting over a day with heavy usage on the new battery (straight Modern Combat 3, Sonic 4 Ep1 and Frontline Commando all day).

I really dont know what to tell you other than take it into a store and see if they can get you a replacement or troubleshoot it for you. I'm not an expert, so I dont want to pass bad information. This just happened to work for me and I thought it would help others. Good luck!
If they do charge you for the battery, try looking into the anker 1550 mAh batteries that estallings15 mentioned. They worked for him.

I wish I had taken pictures of my old Motorola battery. It was bulging so badly that it should have been on TV's The Biggest Loser. The cells will expand in time. The replacement battery actually rattled around for the first few months.
I highly recommend the 3rd party battery, that has 1800 ( or 1700) mah and is not extended. Fits perfectly and it gives you easy 18 hours with heavy use

Hmm, I think that I may be having the same problem actually. How did you go about telling them about your problem/getting them to replace it? You say that you're running CM7, so you're rooted and installed a custom ROM, which would void the warranty. Did the T-mobile employees give you any hassle with that?

Bad reading of battery charge level.

3500ma extended battery with cover from Amazon

I received this battery from Amazon last weekend. LG Optimus 2X G2x P999 Black Battery Door With 2700mAh Battery I'm on my second charge cycle (actually 13% left before I charge on the second cycle) and my phone has been up over 2 1/2 days, see screenshot.
I got lucky and then sent me a 3500mAh battery instead of the 2700mAh one advertised. Total cost to me was $8.74. Cheap enough and the larger battery more than makes up for the larger battery cover. After a couple of days, I barely notice the larger size.

I just bought one off of Ebay yesterday. Supposed to be here Monday. Looking forward to it.

My 3500 Mah battery I purchased in October still runs strong to this day. My mom uses it on her G2x and it still lasts all day.

I bought my Anker 2800mAh on April 26, 2012. It's been almost a full 2 months into its life and still functioning as well as it did when I bought it. Get close to 45-46hrs of function going from a full 100% down to the teens. Mind you my usage will be different than yours (as it always is the case), but I can't complain about my new battery at all.
I've had this battery for almost a month now. I'm still getting 2+ days use out of it. No sign of`lessened use. Am still happy with this purchase.
I actually made a video for this battery, or I assume its the same one.. I ordered the 2700 because I didn't like the way the 3500 curved but I ended up getting the 3500 and you adjust to it pretty quick, got mine months ago still holding up strong, can get easy 40 hours on my kind of usage when its moderate and on heavy usage (my style) 24-28 hours.
I've had a pair of these batteries for close to 8 months now. I I have to say between the two they ate amazing ith equally consistent results. I usually get around 30-35, hey usage most I've gotten out of it surprisingly was a little over 80hrs! With light usage.

I got the 2700 mAH battery and have had it for two days. Charged it first time fully and used and got a whole 14 hours out of it. Charged again fully and left it on charger after showing full for another 3 hours. Shut the phone down and wiped battery stats and restarted. Still getting questionable life. With the stock battery runn HFS 1.8 and the latest Harsh kernel OC'd to 656 Min and 1400 max and UV'ing as well I used to get about 10 hours off of a stock battery. Now I am seeing 14 with the 2700 mAH. Granted the OC doesn't help but I should be seeing more than 4 hours. No?

did you follow the directions and leave it charging over night fully discharge and charge again all that usually helps keep improving the charge life but then again sometimes you just get a dud battery I was getting over 20 hours on my similar battery and upgraded to higher getting way over a day

not a bad battery life
Hmm, guess I'll get this for camping, probably won't work for my case, but the battery life is worth it..

Extended battery thoughts

Anyone here invest in an extended battery with case and have any input on their experience with it? I have heard hyperion is good but it has very mixed reviews online and there are issues with getting a decent back plate. Comments and suggestions are welcome.

16% screen time? Well I can last longer on stock battery

I bought an extended battery 4500mah on ebay for $8 a couple weeks ago from ebay. It makes the phone twice as thick, but the battery lasts all day with moderate use. I haven't put my phone on the charger mid-day since I bought it. Being that its a cheap generic battery, there is no brand name and I can't verify the capacity is accurate, but it is getting the job done. I'm at work and can't really give any more specifics, but heres a quick comparison
Pros: 1 overnight charge lasts all day, phone not much heavier, GSAM app seems to accurately adapt, Thicker case seems to protect rear camera and light better without obstructing them. Makes you more attractive to opposite gender (this may be a false claim)
Cons: Phone thicker, loss of NFC chip, longer charge time, must charge from lower capacity to avoid confusing battery estimation mechanisms (under 40ish%) Harder to find protective cases, and old ones will not fit.
the gs3 is the first phone i haven't thought of buying a bigger battery for. i get great life with the stock one, much better than my razr maxx had.
I was about to buy one of these extend bateries, but making the phone twice as thick is a turn off....
Thanks for all the responses so far. What I did was buy another oem nfc enabled battery, and a phone mount charger with battery charger. I am actually getting all day charge with heavy use and switching in a fresh one before sleep. The only reason I was curious about extended was because I enjoy hiking and photography. But unless you get 2 days use it doesn't appear to be much better than buying multiple stock batteries.

i ended up getting the extended battery from hyperion on amazon.
i live in miami, and lost power for like 2 days over a month back and instantly i realized i needed this fat battery.
it actually feels better when i grip it. and i love that i forget at times to charge and its all good.
i got it for my wife since she is always killing her phone. it goes all day sometimes 1 day and half.
it's funny though because the size may turn you off but size wize it matches other friends of mine who also have the s3 and they over do it with the thick cases and stock battery.
Does anyone know how to reset the phone to give an accurate read out of the bigger battery?
Is there such a need to do so?
With these batteries the specs for a OEM battery is like days in standby. Would not one think that an extended battery would last weeks, and not drain in a day of hanging out in your pocket with little WiFi, calls, and text messages?
I know the ones they sell on e bay and Amazon are old new batteries as they have been sitting in storage and shelf live has caught up to them.
This is the only explanation for such a short time before having to recharge them.
I have never had a brand new hot off the press battery, as I get my phones at the pawn shop discounted. Hence they are already discontinued by the service providers.
I wouldn't even trust buying a new OEM battery from them as there is no telling how long they have had there batteries in stock just sitting there getting old depreciating.

I agree - stock battery is good but I bought an extended anyway for longer gaming sessions.
I use the stock battery when at work so I can use my otterbox, but in my leisure time the hyperion battery rocks. No complaints on the stock battery, liking the hyperion as well.
My complaint is losing data service under 50% battery - hyperion staves that off longer.
But does hyperion really offer more than a day these responses seem to confirm my worries of it not being double as advertised but maybe in the 1.25 to 1.75 range? And if all the stock batteries have been sitting on the shelf how would the hyperion battery be any different? I am really considering investing in a hyperion still because 3 batteries would be ownage and I generally go on hikes for 2 to 3 days and my 2 stocks might not make it. Climbing a peak and taking a panoramic is truly special. But at this point investing in a new case with a hyperion might be more hassle than buying some more oems on the cheap.
Anyways thanks for the responses everyone. And PROTIP storing your battery at 50% in a dry cool place is what is recommended for long term storage. Also I learned recently that letting your battery go through a full discharge and then recharging actually leads to a longer battery life span, by a huge factor!
PS sorry admins and others I just joined this forum and realize this whole thread should have been placed in the accessories section I hope my gaff does not make you think less of me.

Well first remember 16% becomes a larger number when you have more capacity also there were several other items being used. Also this was the first tinting charge of a cycle. The phone talk time ended up over 4 hours or so as well also I need several restarts. I am happy with it

wich battery?

Hi, i want to buy a new battery for my DHD. I hear talking about mugen 1500 for DHD, is it really better than original one. Thanks
Hi, thanks for this post, because I have same question too.
I already search for all Desire HD Forum, and search throught all the xda site (other forums too).
Nowadays the information is already old and battery brands have already upgraded/envolve to better qualities and advances, and maybe are already better brands than mugen and anker, which xda members suggest in the past as the best.
Please tell us all users of xda with desire hd and that had in the past the desire hd (like Lordclockan great developer) which battery brand and model was the best and longest for you?
Was great if. All great developers of desire HD, of present and past could tell us too, their opinion and what they use or recommend?
OEM, Mugen, Anker, Seidio, Hyperion, Andida, Qcell, or others...?
Thank you so much for everything that you do for us, all work of all Developers here on Xda is Amazing!! Because all Developers are way better than workers of all smartphones and devices brands!
Its great that the best Workers and professionals are all here, because if you were employers of the market brands like Samsung, Htc, and so on, the xda site maybe never existed, and the world was worst without You great Developers!!
Congratulations too all Devs, users, and all members!
Sorry for long post but sometimes we need to tell to the great people, how much they are good and evidence their qualities =)
Congratulations XDA!!
I got my Desire HD when it came out.
I'm still using the battery it came with.
With some precaution and care it can last about 5 years.
My phone is on for 24/7 365 a year, i try as much as possible to charge it before it hits 50%.
Lithium battery's don't like to be discharged below that, it's possible but reduces life drastically.
But for new battery be sure to get a quality one and charge at 50% if possible than it will last at least as long as mine.
(Heared good things about the 1st 3 in your little list; OEM, Mugen and Anker.)

Thank you for your knowledge and info, I already heard about that fact, but didn't know with certain.
I will do that, thanks
I am using too the oem stock battery of desire HD yet, but I suspect that the condition decreased now after years.
You know some method/tool we can know/diagnose with some accuracy, the condition of battery?
Thanks, Cheers

Use Battery Monitor Widget pro to diagnose your current battery conditions. Discharge untill the phone auto turnoff then continous charge to 100%+2hours more (when you see 0mAh on BMW widget) go to Calibration Tab to check your battery condition. The measured xxxxmAh +/- ?% is your answer.
Mine:
- 1.5 years OEM battery now is ~900mAh+/-9%
- New 1300mAh Coral battery (just used a months) is 1265mAh+/-8%
- A 1600mAh on ebay but very bad that after 2month of usage it is only 650mAh+/-15% (Don't believe in high capacity battery anymore)
With current ROM + with normal usage, I can surf 2days with this battery - Coral
Yes, battery monitor widget is a perfect app.
I will reinstall it and calibrate my OEM battery to test it again.
Thank you to Both, coolpixs4 and HanZie82.
I had bought months ago that app, but though that the benefits vs battery drain not value installed, so alternate for current widget app.
So in your opinion the battery monitor widget pro don't drain any battery continuous or don't worth have one more background process?
I will do what you recommended me, at least to measure the battery condition.
Thanks

Of course it will drain some part of battery but NOT MUCH.
Since, you use that *.apk just for investigating your current battery condition to see how good your current battery.
After that, you can remove widget or just stop it.
I still have 1109 mAh availible from my OEM battery wich is as old as the phone. (which i bought when it was new).
I just recently bought a newer "higher capacity" battery for my Inspiremake 4G and should be here tomorrow. I currently have stock battery in it and barley lasts an hour using minimal apps and sync off, screen brightness down, WiFi off, and others.
Ordered a new one from a company called Andida and its rated at 1800 mAh.
Not sure how it will do but with such slim design can't make it "fatter". We shall see tomorrow or Tuesday latest,

How old is your phone? Mine is 2.5 years old and it still works quite fine. Probably just a couple of hours less then in the beginning.
I've just bought a 2500mAh battery from eBay, and its shown to be a vast improvement on the 3 year old stock battery that preceded it.
You should always monitor your battery usage anyway, as a means to prolong your usage, but the stock DHD batteries are now long outdated, and better performance can be bought at quite a reasonable price (I paid just £7.99 inc. postage).
Up to now, I've been getting around 17-18 hours on battery, with some quite heavy usage. Before, on the stock battery, I was lucky to get 5..

I'm found an old topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1344761 . HTC Evo 3D and Sensation Battery Working in Desire HD.
Hi,
I've had my DHD for a couple months now and the battery life isn't brilliant. My brother had ir before me for 2 years and then upgraded. I used the battery monitor widget app and this is what I'm getting:
- Health: Good 30.0C/3715mV
- Techno: Li-ion 261/831mAh
- Available: 26% -143mAh
I decided to buy a new battery and I went for a 2430mAh gold battery that I found on eBay

This battery doesn't have temperature sensor, will always show 24 degrees.
It's like stock no more current capacity.
After a while, let's say 6 months is getting so inflated so that is very hard to take it out or put it back in the phone slot. If you remove the sticker you will see that is metal and your risk a shortcut inside the phone. Removing the sticker will not help introducing the battery in phone slot (still inflated).
