Hi, i want to buy a new battery for my DHD. I hear talking about mugen 1500 for DHD, is it really better than original one. Thanks
Hi, thanks for this post, because I have same question too.
I already search for all Desire HD Forum, and search throught all the xda site (other forums too).
Nowadays the information is already old and battery brands have already upgraded/envolve to better qualities and advances, and maybe are already better brands than mugen and anker, which xda members suggest in the past as the best.
Please tell us all users of xda with desire hd and that had in the past the desire hd (like Lordclockan great developer) which battery brand and model was the best and longest for you?
Was great if. All great developers of desire HD, of present and past could tell us too, their opinion and what they use or recommend?
OEM, Mugen, Anker, Seidio, Hyperion, Andida, Qcell, or others...?
Thank you so much for everything that you do for us, all work of all Developers here on Xda is Amazing!! Because all Developers are way better than workers of all smartphones and devices brands!
Its great that the best Workers and professionals are all here, because if you were employers of the market brands like Samsung, Htc, and so on, the xda site maybe never existed, and the world was worst without You great Developers!!
Congratulations too all Devs, users, and all members!
Sorry for long post but sometimes we need to tell to the great people, how much they are good and evidence their qualities =)
Congratulations XDA!!
I got my Desire HD when it came out.
I'm still using the battery it came with.
With some precaution and care it can last about 5 years.
My phone is on for 24/7 365 a year, i try as much as possible to charge it before it hits 50%.
Lithium battery's don't like to be discharged below that, it's possible but reduces life drastically.
But for new battery be sure to get a quality one and charge at 50% if possible than it will last at least as long as mine.
(Heared good things about the 1st 3 in your little list; OEM, Mugen and Anker.)

Thank you for your knowledge and info, I already heard about that fact, but didn't know with certain.
I will do that, thanks
I am using too the oem stock battery of desire HD yet, but I suspect that the condition decreased now after years.
You know some method/tool we can know/diagnose with some accuracy, the condition of battery?
Thanks, Cheers

Use Battery Monitor Widget pro to diagnose your current battery conditions. Discharge untill the phone auto turnoff then continous charge to 100%+2hours more (when you see 0mAh on BMW widget) go to Calibration Tab to check your battery condition. The measured xxxxmAh +/- ?% is your answer.
Mine:
- 1.5 years OEM battery now is ~900mAh+/-9%
- New 1300mAh Coral battery (just used a months) is 1265mAh+/-8%
- A 1600mAh on ebay but very bad that after 2month of usage it is only 650mAh+/-15% (Don't believe in high capacity battery anymore)
With current ROM + with normal usage, I can surf 2days with this battery - Coral
Yes, battery monitor widget is a perfect app.
I will reinstall it and calibrate my OEM battery to test it again.
Thank you to Both, coolpixs4 and HanZie82.
I had bought months ago that app, but though that the benefits vs battery drain not value installed, so alternate for current widget app.
So in your opinion the battery monitor widget pro don't drain any battery continuous or don't worth have one more background process?
I will do what you recommended me, at least to measure the battery condition.
Thanks

Of course it will drain some part of battery but NOT MUCH.
Since, you use that *.apk just for investigating your current battery condition to see how good your current battery.
After that, you can remove widget or just stop it.
I still have 1109 mAh availible from my OEM battery wich is as old as the phone. (which i bought when it was new).
I just recently bought a newer "higher capacity" battery for my Inspiremake 4G and should be here tomorrow. I currently have stock battery in it and barley lasts an hour using minimal apps and sync off, screen brightness down, WiFi off, and others.
Ordered a new one from a company called Andida and its rated at 1800 mAh.
Not sure how it will do but with such slim design can't make it "fatter". We shall see tomorrow or Tuesday latest,

How old is your phone? Mine is 2.5 years old and it still works quite fine. Probably just a couple of hours less then in the beginning.
I've just bought a 2500mAh battery from eBay, and its shown to be a vast improvement on the 3 year old stock battery that preceded it.
You should always monitor your battery usage anyway, as a means to prolong your usage, but the stock DHD batteries are now long outdated, and better performance can be bought at quite a reasonable price (I paid just £7.99 inc. postage).
Up to now, I've been getting around 17-18 hours on battery, with some quite heavy usage. Before, on the stock battery, I was lucky to get 5..

I'm found an old topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1344761 . HTC Evo 3D and Sensation Battery Working in Desire HD.
Hi,
I've had my DHD for a couple months now and the battery life isn't brilliant. My brother had ir before me for 2 years and then upgraded. I used the battery monitor widget app and this is what I'm getting:
- Health: Good 30.0C/3715mV
- Techno: Li-ion 261/831mAh
- Available: 26% -143mAh
I decided to buy a new battery and I went for a 2430mAh gold battery that I found on eBay

This battery doesn't have temperature sensor, will always show 24 degrees.
It's like stock no more current capacity.
After a while, let's say 6 months is getting so inflated so that is very hard to take it out or put it back in the phone slot. If you remove the sticker you will see that is metal and your risk a shortcut inside the phone. Removing the sticker will not help introducing the battery in phone slot (still inflated).

I tried to look for a thread on this but havent found anything.
I am just wondering if anyone has tried to use the stock HTC incredible S battery on the DZ. I was at the Mugen batteries webby and saw that they were selling the DZ 1800 mah battery stating that it can be used for the incredible S too. This is the product name currently: "Mugen Power 1800mAh Extended Battery for HTC Desire Z / T-Mobile G2 / HTC Incredible S [HLI-DesireZSL]"
The stock incredible S battery is slightly more then stock DZ rated at 1450 mah and if compatible might be a good slightly extended battery for those who dont want to use 3rd party batteries.
Huh, very interested if someone can check this out. Wish htc would just make their own extended batteries, or standardize them so they are all interchangeable across devices.

I work at a t-mobile store in the netherlands and we just got the incredible s delivered, i tried the battery in my desire z and guess what, its a perfect fit!
Nice upgrade from 1300 mah to 1450 mah!
You can always do that, or just get the 1750 by Seidio that can be useed for the original incredible, evo, etc. And it fits like a glove.

Anybody know of a reputable online site that's selling one? My usual go to of amazon doesn't have any up...
Though I'm sure they'll be easier to come by when the incredible 2 comes out.

Thanks for that. Given that a lot of aftermarket batteries don't have the claimed capacity, I might just go buy an official HTC Incredible S battery for my Desire Z. Chances are, it'll probably have more capacity in it than an unofficial 1500mAh Desire Z battery.
I ordered this battery a few days ago. Will report back on it.

Please do! The main downside I can see is that the official battery tends to cost more than the copies. Still, may be worth it!
Also have this battery on order from the verizon store (incredible II). Will post a full review when I get the feel for it.

I have buyed incredible-s akku directly from amazon.de for just 20€ with free shipping.
It fits perfectly, it's 1:1 the same shape, and you can close the akku lid with no problems.
The problem is now, that some people recommend the reset of the battery stats.
I have no root, and got my phone back from repair just a week ago, so i didn't want to root at the moment.
I think it just falsify the percental status indication a little bit.
Also Battery Monitor Widget tells me, that akku has 1300mah max.
Will this things affect the battery duration or is this really just a little aesthetic-error?

Yes it would be best to reset the battery stats for best results, but if you just got your phone back from repair, did they hard-reset it? If so, the battery stats would have been wiped anyway.
The Battery Monitor Widget defaults to 1300mAh for the G2/Desire Z. You can actually override this and tell it that it's a 1450mAh battery by going to Settings > Monitoring > Battery Capacity. Type "1450" into the box, and press OK. Sometimes there is a bug where the setting doesn't take effect until you change another setting as well.
Good luck.

Yes i did a hardreset before i send it to repair, and they do it also after the repair.
Good to know that a hardreset also resets the battery stats.
I changed the capacity now to 1450 in the battery monitor widget.
Thx for your great help
If htc now releases the official sense 3.0 update it would be really perfect.

Guys,
Just found a battery from the new Sprint Evo Design 4G rated at 1520mAh and perfect fit to our G2.
nice bump from the stock 1300.
any link pls?
Well today my extended battery arrived. I get a 25% corporate discount on accessories, and that combined with the BAT30 coupon code yielded a pretty nice discount Anyway here are some pics of the phone with the battery. I just received it so I can't comment on battery life yet, but I'm guessing it will be amazing from the looks of it. It looks like it probably wont fit the car dock which I do own. I'll have to let you guys know if it fits or not. I don't have the multimedia dock but I'm pretty sure that is definitely out of the question, as this battery makes the phone much thicker. It should get me through a night at work and that's all that matters.

That is pretty ridiculous lol
Thanks for posting these pix. I have been debating ordering one, but was worried that it would be even thicker than the extended battery I had for the Thunderbolt.
Looks like a nice option honestly..
It's not too bad in the pocket honestly as long as you don't wear super tight jeans. The phone won't fit in the official car dock with the battery but I'll be mainly using this when I'm at work and the standard battery when Im out and about so not a big deal. I'm sure a generic car mount thats adjustable would be able to work. As far as battery life goes I'll have to post back in a few days once I get an idea of how long it lasts.
that right there is seriously EFF'ING HUUUUGE!!!!!! Man, I knew it'd be thicker and fatter, but I didn't realize it'd be like THAT!!!
At any rate, let us know of the battery life once you've test it out.
And definitely thanks for the pictures!

I ordered it from Verizons website. The battery door with the discount was $9 and the battery was $20. The battery is the same extended battery used in the Continuum.

Yep that's the same battery. Order that along with the door. As for the speaker it sounds about the same honestly. Lastly it takes a considerable longer amount of time to charge it compared to the stock battery. The stock charger is 5v at 1amp. Good deal, hey just curious what kind of battery life are you getting with the stock battery. I only had my phone two days before I got the extended battery, so I never really got a chance to see what the battery life was like. Like how many hours does it last if you leave 4g on and you use the phone like normal? If anyone else reads this, feel free to chime in with your battery life as well.

10-12 hours and that's with reasonable usage. Screen on full brightness. Always on data.
In SetCPU I have a screen off profile that clocks the phone to 100mhz and a battery <30% to 200mhz.
I assume everyone noticed that the battery someone posted earlier is for a Samsung Continuum. I also assume that you guys confirmed that it worked with the Charge I also assume that there is no difference between the 2600mah battery for the Continuum and Charge.
Please confirm/deny if you happened to order the battery and cover from Ebay.

I can confirm that the two phones use the same batteries. When I ordered the extended battery from Verizon I ordered the Extended battery door for the Charge and I ordered the Extended battery for the Continuum, beings there was no link for a Droid Charge extended battery. However, once the battery arrived the battery came in a Droid Charge branded box which I didn't show in the pictures I posted earlier.

On the standard battery I seem to get about 6-8 hrs with light to moderate usage and less than that if I use the phone heavily. That's leaving 4g on all the time and syncing two google accounts with all the data syncing turned on. I was hoping for better than that, coming from the Droid X but considering the phone is 4g it's not bad I guess. As far as the extended battery goes, I'm going to wait about a week to post my average usage, that way I give the battery time to make a few cycles and settle in. Also I want to see if resetting the battery stats in Clockworkmod recovery yields better results vs. not resetting battery stats.

if you got big battery drain you need to first work out if its software related or hardware related.
no point pulling out for a new battery if your software setup is messed up and keeps draining battery all the time.

i have this one for myself. what i can tell, dont expect double the battery lasting because of 2430mAh instead of 1500mAh. it last a little more, than the normal battery, but not such amazing as i thought firstly. as other people has just said, it depends on how you use your phone. this battery maximum lasted for me 3d on minimal use and slim bean rom.

now the my battery is horrible like 2-3 hours with 3G on and whatsapp and medium brightness and the battery is dead, i have to turn off the 3G all the time.... i'm with tsunami rom and i've got a friend with this rom that have better battery life and i found out that my battery is a little bit swollen, maybe it's because of that... you think that the battery will last more that one day with 3G in this rom with this battery?
First of all as soon as you get 3 batteries that are over 2000mAh for that amount of money they are fake a original samsung replacment battery thats about 1500mAh will cost you more than that. If you browse a bit on the forum you will find the exact model of the battery that others bought that are tested and confirmed working. This battery will probably last you about a couple of hours cause they are no chance 2430mAh.
If your battery is swollen then you need a new battery straight away.

There is a topic right under yours about a 1800mAh battery so check that out they have links and results but remember one thing dont save money on a battery youl regret it later and you'll need to buy a new one again!

the thing is that i want to buy the S4 in may so i want new battery for now, 1800 is enough?
Yes it more than the original so thats fine. You'll get about a 20% increase in battery life compared to the original one

First and foremost I just have to say that I have been sent these batteries to test as I have been testing batteries for Anker for over 2 years. This battery has to be the best one so far. The Anker 2600mAh for the S4 has incredible battery life and lasts about 50% longer than that of the OEM Samsung battery. The charging time is the same as OEM too! When you receive the battery i suggest you complete the charge because it isn't completely charged from the factory. Great points about this better battery are:
-Actually has built in NFC for a slim replacement battery
-Battery life is just straight up longer than OEM
-I use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Google Maps, Skyfire, Text, and Talk on the phone literally all day long as my job permits
-Battery is the same size as the stock so no worries about the phone "bulking up"
-Dependable company for aftermarket batteries
-Brightness about half way up
Through many rigorous tests, compared to an OEM battery, this battery has lasted me about 50% longer than the standard Samsung battery. Now many of you that have the S4 already know that the S4 battery is pretty good considering the power of the phone. With the factory battery i have been able to have the phone last 20h 22m 14s. The longest this battery lasted me was 33h 07m 10s. On the heaviest day i used the phone though it was 29h 46m 58s. So that is why i am going to say at least 50% longer. The battery cells have always been quality cells provided by Anker and hold the charge over a long period of time. I am very pleased with the battery and am confident in this product as well as there 2100mAh replacement for the S4, which i will be writing about as well. For the price point and functionality of this product it would be nonsense not to make this purchase and have the battery life you need from your new powerhouse phone!
I would also like to just give a big THANK YOU to Anker for their awesome products and keep up the good work!
the stock battery is rated at 2600mah. getting 50% more battery life from another battery also rated at 2600mah seems unlikely. either something is wrong with the stock battery or anker are magicians.
That's what i thought at first but the cells are incredible in the anker. That's the first thing i buy for any phone i own(considering it has a removable battery) are spare batteries because i eat up batteries all day long. lol

Why would they release a battery with a smaller maH rating than the OEM Samsung battery?
This whole thread is weird and is suspect.
I doubt Samsung would use sub par cells considering they are one of the largest manufacturers of top tier lithium cells. Something isn't adding up when a battery of the same capacity is claiming to get 50% more life.
I have the same battery, although I haven't really put it to the test beyond seeing that it would actually charge to 100% so I can't speak as to how much longer than the stock battery it goes.
It is slightly bigger than the original battery, though. You really have to press all the sides of the back door in at the same time to get the back to go on.
50% more is really suspect... it has the same mah rating so I figure the most would be a +10% (for increased quality). In any rate, you are getting equivalent or more than stock, which makes it a good alternative.

Every replacement Anker battery I have purchased, (Vibrant, MT4G, Sensation, GS2, GS3) has lasted longer than the stock battery. Maybe not 50% longer, but noticeably longer. An Anker is destined for my SIV as well.
I have two of these batteries on the charger at home right now getting their first charge. I'll weigh in on this tomorrow after testing

On german Amazon homepage we can read, that Anker batteries have nearly the same battery life.
So 50% more? I can not believe you at the moment.
I have a set of these fresh from Anker, my only complaint is that they battery width is about .5mm thicker than the stock battery, its not enough to prevent the battery door from closing, but it was enough to notice a "bulge" pressing on the back cover to see it the upper and lower of the battery corners. Ill keep them for spares, but im sticking with stock for the day to day use.
Also note, that battery life was the same if not slightly less than with stock.
50% more power on same mAh is hard to believe.

You need to compare the batteries under the same conditions. What if for one battery you streamed music for hours and for the other battery you let it sit and do nothing? You need to run the test under the same conditions. Without that the comparison is meaningless.
Since you may not be able to let your phone sit untouched for that long, you could find an app that'll drain the battery the same way over a shorter period of time (e.g. leave it streaming music or running navigation). You may think that's a bunch of trouble to go through, but if you are a "battery tester" for Anker, then it should be standard procedure.
Excellent points everyone. I'll reevaluate the batteries over the next couple days. I did do a lot with the phone the first couple days like root debloat etc

That does not prove anything. Your device has been idle most of the time. I call it BS on the 50% more juice. It has to take some breakthrough technology to get that much juice with the same size battery. So nice try.

Hi - Our OPO phones are starting to show their age.
I started researching BLP571 replacement batteries, and many of the sources I found have pretty lousy reviews for battery quality.
Has anyone purchased a BLP571 from a supplier that you are happy (or not happy) with?
Thanks!

I have just been having a problem with my OnePlus and the battery stats - the phone was not lasting long, the % readout was not moving for some time then falling and switching off before it reached anywhere near 0%.* I suspected the battery might be failing and had installed Accubattery (updated to Pro with some Google Play gift credit they offered me) and it suggested the battery was now only @2000mAh so have been looking for a replacement.
(* I'm using the excellent Sultanxda Unofficial CyanogenMod 13.0 with 3.4.0 kernel whose battery stats have been very good and whose ROM is super-stable.)
I have been told that a lot of the 'Chinese' OnePlus replacements are not all that good and do not meet the original specifications and sometimes actually even ship used batteries and I didn't want that sort of headache.
I found a seller of aftermarket batteries in Germany (I'm in the UK) and bought a 'VHBW' branded BLP571 from them through ebay. Shipping was fast and I installed it in the phone this afternoon (17th December)

I could not turn the phone on as the battery came discharged and it took @2½ hours to charge to 100% (I did this with the phone switched off). I powered up and deleted the battery stats from Accubattery and will monitor it carefully. I'm pleased to see that it has ticked down from 100% to 97% after 10 minuets use as it was not doing that for the past month or so (I expect the battery stats to take some time to settle down - at least a few charge cycles)
So, the battery looks good. Certainly is not some second-hand junk, time will tell if it has the capacity of the original and I don't expect to know for a week or so. I will return to this thread from time to time to report back. Hopefully it will be good news - but to answer your original question I am very happy with the supplier!

What makes this interesting is that it's most likely a brand new battery since it's not from the OEM. Give it a week and report back. You can also use GSam Battery monitor to record the stats. If this is good enough, you can probably post it over at \ACCESSORIES\ for some more publicity.
I had my battery for 1 year and im down to 3 hours sot i might buy that battery that you got from ebay
Same here I am also wondering should I change the battery or upgrade to OP3T
First charge done and I'm happy so far. Battery lasted much longer before needing a charge and the % remaining seemed more accurate than the old one at least!
I'll see over the next few days the real battery capacity - but it's not too bad!

That is the same seller. The delivery was quick and the product seems perfectly good.
I don't know if it is as good as the original battery but I didn't measure the capacity of that when I got the phone new.
I've had a good charge all day and put it on to charge again now - but I was using the phone a lot to see what happened. In normal (moderate) use I would guess I would be back to 18 - 24 hours between charges.
Voyager03, any update about your battery? how was it so far?

It's been fine, far better than the worn out original was. If you need one I'd say it's a fine choice as a replacement.

Can you give me your average sot for your new one and your old one please?
Accubattery said the old battery was @1900mAh and the new one is @2800mAh.
But more than that the phone was not working at all well with the old original - the % charge was not displaying properly, would stick at 100% for ages before falling and then switch off suddenly and well before it reached 0%. Then when plugged in to recharge started at 60%, 30% or wherever it was when it powered off and then was 100% is a short time.
The new battery % 'reads' correctly enough. I've not been able to let it go completely flat as I charge when I need some time away from a convenient plug.
The new battery is much better - and there is little alternative anyway. If anyone knows where to get an original 3100mAh cell then I would like to know!
