Hmmm... glad I won't fall under this policy since I'm considering getting rid of my One X if there's no progress on rooting soon =/

Not familiar with return policies with the American carriers. Thought it was useful info for you guys as the 2.20 firmware seems to be testing the loyalty of some users.
Well it doesn't surprise me really. I moved back to AT&T two months ago after a long long absence and was surprised that they had a 30 day period. I actually started with an Atrix HD, found out there was no root so pawned it off on the gf so I could grab a One X. Thought I could root it but didn't realize I would get stuck with the 2.2 update so I'm with everyone else waiting for root.
Trying like all he** to find a way to root it myself but don't have a whole lot of free time to devote to it so I do what I can when I can. Still happy with the phone and with moving back to AT&T thoiugh and I know root will come eventually.

60 days, actually. No restocking fees either, but that is for everyone.
I have a feeling restocking fee is one of those terms created to take more money from you.

The result of stupid htc that makes crappy quality phone. Iknow people thay had to swap their phones 10times and still had problematic units. Do not think thay everybody follows xda, I would say only a minor portion of people thay own the device do

Samsung has the same issues, my gf and her mother have sent back their phones multiple times because they just didn't work right.
Btw dude stop trolling these HTC forums and praising Samsung, it gets annoying
We are a small portion of the smart phone population and I believe those who don't educate themselves on these phones as we do are more prone to sending back phones due to idiotic issues

I've owned many htc smartphones and not only (tilt, tilt2, one, captivate, atrix, iphone 4, vivid, hox) and I've yet to return not even one unit (and believe me some were really abused by my kids). How in the world someone retuns 5 or more units, you gotta be retarded if after 2 replacements you still go back to the same model/brand or whatever, however if you still do it, then you must really love that device and therefore no need to complain about it.

Well no they actually were brand new phones. It was a 3 day promotion. And it stated on the fine print that there weren't refurbished units. And I personally called an att and a representative told me the same thing that was stated in fine print.

Also, is the phone unlocked?
I'm located in Lexington KY.
Phone is rooted and running AOKP currently. There isn't much development for unlocking these since they are already available on all carriers..

I have a onex in grey, rooted with a defender, commuter and original HTC car dock I'd consider trading. Not sure I would add cash though.

Sorry guys...i got a lot of PM's about this and hadn't checked the thread.....I believe I have a deal already worked out for the price I was asking, hope it works out.
The whole development thing is just losing interested for me. The screen and camera are so much better on the One X that I couldn't take it anymore.....After years of being a big rom flasher, I'm more interested in a reliable phone that I don't have to mess with. I really enjoyed Sense 4.1, and figure its only going to get better on the JB update.
Picked up one for my wife and I. Best Buy will price match. This is with a new contract. Enjoy!

It came with 2.20 as I expected. Had the GS3 for a day, and to me it wasn't worth $150 than a free One X. The Best Buy girl was like...you're returning the S3? Really? They have almost identical specs and the HOX is sexier....

I have no issues with them releasing 3458923485 phones a year. My only problem is lack of support for non important (current flaghship) device. We won't get the update after jellybean because only the one x+ will get it.

I feel the whole HTC desire HD update tthing coming again after we get jb ...HTC will say well get it than say good bye hope u grade to whatever phones they have on the market at that time
I lost my one x I bought from the att store, and I neglected to purchase insurance. So I bought a new one from amazon 2 days ago. It arrived today with 1.85 installed. Havnt even put my att SIM in yet, cuz i'm afraid of an autoupdate.
I'll try rooting/unlocking/ROMing when I get home. Hope my misfortune ended up being a blessing in disguise.

Lucky. I bought a REFURBISHED and "UNLOCKED" HTC One X from a seller on Amazon.
It came in a AT&T box, with AT&T bloatware, and 2.20.
I think I'll return it. It isn't even unlocked...
EDIT: The screen also flickers every 30 seconds.

Every refurb I've seen since around last month have had 2.20 on it. Idk if HTC is updating when they are repairing them or if Att is manually updating them.

Seemed like you were boasting. Figured Amazon who probably not be as apt to update the units they have sitting around. I got my replacement from a company that deals with AT&T. So I was expecting it to come with 2.20.
i picked up a 2nd one x today from costco it has 1.85.
Got my One X last thursday from Sams Club with 1.85
Add best buy mobile to the list because i got mine with 1.85 from my online order
I received a $49 refurb from AT&T wednesday with 1.85. Needless to say its rooted, unlocked and sporting Venom now.
Costco sent me one with 1.73 about a month ago
Just got an email from at&t that you can get a One X for 99 cents with a two year contract. Valid 11/23 to 11/25
