NEW
ONE CLICK ROOT TOOL
and follow the instructions.
I cannot make it any simpler than that.

Seriously,it seems that you should concentrate on getting familiar with all the processes involved.
Look in my signature (☺ A great starting point for all new Sensation owners ☺)
There is a whole list of guides and explanations.
READ,READ,AND READ some more,or else you will mess up your phone.

Check the pinned topics in the sensation forums. There's lots of threads on how to root. I will say to read read read. Make sure you have at least a basic understanding of what you should be doing. If you don't understand anything, ask for help in the relevant threads. Someone will be about to offer advice. Don't do something without knowing what you're doing. It will significantly increase your chances of doing damage to your phone.

You already were pointed to the guides required for rooting, but before that, I'd like to point you to something.
You said you have absolutely NO experience or knowledge in this area, so I suggest you do not be hasty and not root yet.
Before doing so you should know what you are doing, the risks of such thing, and how to work with it. Most chances you do not really need it.

I repeat - DO NOT root your phone before you know exactly what it does.

Sorry, I'll close this thread because I'm not here for troubleshooting but to give direction or links.
But I can only say that if you can wait an hour, you'll see to this thread =>HTC Desire 601/HTC Zara - room, root, mods some files that can help you for solve your problem.
And about your problem, the best solution is to push and flash a RUU completly, not only some files.
But it's just my advice
