1)use juopunutbear method to S-OFF the device and root

You already were pointed to the guides required for rooting, but before that, I'd like to point you to something.
You said you have absolutely NO experience or knowledge in this area, so I suggest you do not be hasty and not root yet.
Before doing so you should know what you are doing, the risks of such thing, and how to work with it. Most chances you do not really need it.

I repeat - DO NOT root your phone before you know exactly what it does.

I'm a new android user who just bought a new android phone, HTC desire S. I've been searching all over the Desire S forum but can't find a tutorial on flashing the custom ROM. Also, I don't understand what is S-Off and other stuffs as this is very new to me.. Hope someone could guide me. Thanks!

you can do it with "superoneclick" tool.. you don´t seen it in desire s thread?

Please i want a little help and solution for my problem
yesterday i bought HTc sensation xe the h boot is 18.0000 but when i try to s off by revolutionary.com its says (zerging root this may take a minute or so then zrging root failed)so i read in xda thread to unlock the bootloader first from htc dev so i make it ,then i tried the same with revolutionary and i also tried the htc super tool
please help me ASAp if you can and i appreciate it

i will but i didnt make ota update and i have the rom version 2.3.4 do i need to downgrade to 2.3.3
You do not need to do downgrade. Try again to follow the tutorial step by step. You must have USB debugging turned on. Try on another computer.
Hi everyone i am a complete noob to roms ,flashing ,rooting i will be receiving a htc sensation in a few day and would like to be prepared to root it. I have been though forums and i am still abit baffled by the whole rooting process.when i receive the phone i want to update it to ics and then root it and apply the hq camera just like to know if any one would be able to assist me on how to do this the easiest and safest way many thx :fingers-crossed:

There is no safe way to root your phone. All ways have a small risk, but most cases have solution I advise you to read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497404 and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613295 .

and follow the instructions.
I cannot make it any simpler than that.

Seriously,it seems that you should concentrate on getting familiar with all the processes involved.

There is a whole list of guides and explanations.
READ,READ,AND READ some more,or else you will mess up your phone.

Check the pinned topics in the sensation forums. There's lots of threads on how to root. I will say to read read read. Make sure you have at least a basic understanding of what you should be doing. If you don't understand anything, ask for help in the relevant threads. Someone will be about to offer advice. Don't do something without knowing what you're doing. It will significantly increase your chances of doing damage to your phone.

Anyways, you should try to get familiar with the devices a little bit..
