[Q] Changing DPI on Jelly Bean - Asus Transformer TF700

Hey guys I'm one of the people who changed their DPI (from 240 to 160) on ICS. However, after updating to JB and restoring root, I noticed that build.prop now shows that the line "ro.sf.lcd_density=" is already at 160. The thing is, it isn't as small as last time. Anyone have any idea how to get the screen back to the same size as 160 on ICS? Appreciate the help!
EDIT: Just thought I'd put it out here; I've tried changing the values from 160 to 80 and 240. There doesn't seem to be any change. Also, thought I'd mention that the "ro.sf.lcd_density=160" is already there by default.

Please, there are at least 2 topics on this "problem".
Be so kind and read the forum before you post a question.
FYI: no solution yet.

is it that the people having membership=senior member and thanks meter=above 1000 should only do this ,
1. Stop spamming the forum, don't open useless threads here and there.
2. The thing you wanna do isnt possible
Each phone has its own specific firmware, and firmware made for one phone wont run on the other, and may also damage the phone
Porting firmware needs a lot of knowledge, you need to do lot more than "just changing resolution" (actually there's nothing like "changing resolution" )

once again, he did it just as an experiment, and it isnt really useful on such a small screen(2 fingers for zooming in and out, maybe 5 for some games, thats it!)

LOL
No.
Senior Member = members having made more than 100 "useful" posts, and thanks meter has nothing to do with a person's capability
Stop this, you'll probably damage your phone, and perhaps of others too.

[Q] galaxy note: too loud in imilka's cyanogenmod v02 - any solution?

Hi,
first post, bound to make some mistake but I've done a search at least. I found the same question here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24910656
"Is there a way to reduce the volume back to stock level?"
...and I just want to say there are more people worried about this, it's a shame since the rom is so great otherwise! Quite a bit too loud at the lowest setting for many tracks, and I use Spotify which has no in-app volume control. Can't post where I found the citation above though since I haven't posted 10 posts yet. Does anyone know a solution for this?
Sorry if this is the wrong place / way to post this. Thanks a lot for any help!
PS. I also found similar posts for CM7 for galaxy s2 but figured things might be too different in ICS, I don't dare trying to follow those instructions especially since i'm so noobish, and don't know how to follow them anyway =( (http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/31827-music-over-plugged-earphones-way-too-loud/)

Test message problem

So I am running paranoid 2.1 sept 6th.
I keep getting text messages from people and they say
Message size (some number)
expires 5 days
downloading...
However it never downloads, and I cant figure out who to read these messages.
Thank you for the help
bump
Why wouldn't you post this IN the paranoid android thread??? It sounds like a ROM issue and you have plenty of posts to post in the dev forum.....

Well I was not sure the reason was paranoid rom. Since this was a question that I was looking for an answer I thought the Q and A session made sense. Also I looked over all 373 posts in that thread before I posted here, but did not see a solution to my problem.

Still having this issue. Also When I get a long text message it gets broken up but is out of order. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you
Same here, every time I get a 3 or 4 page text it breaks it up but it doesn't do it correctly nor does it put it back together right. I have noticed it is mainly when a friend on AT&T send me long texts. When someone in Verizon does it will send the text 2 it more times. Anybody got any ideas at all? Would switching another ROM or anything help any at all? I figure it's a carrier issue but if it Kant I would be super happy to fix this. It also used to happen on my RAZR too.

[q] gps problem!

What's up? I don't know if everyone have this problem. When i had my atrix2 with the default ICS, the GPS was working perfectly. It was able to find satellites in less than 10 sec onds and also it could connect to all of them. Then i decided to install the 4.2.2 ROM and the problems began. the GPS could find the satellites but once it finds them, it takes 2min to connect to half of themI started looking in forums about a way to fix this problem and found some guides that give the same solution: change the gps.conf values or replace the gps_driver file and enable its permissions but those things haven't solved the problem.
When i flash my cellphone using the RSD to the ICS again, the GPS works normally. I think the problem doesn't come from the gps.conf values because the original ICS just shows NTP_SERVER=pool.ntp.org and it works fine.
Has anybody experienced something similar? I prefer to use the 4.2.2 roms but I use the GPS a lot.
I'd appreciate if anyone can give me a solution.
Thanks.

Note, rule #1 is search before posting. The reason for that rule is, many issues and questions have already been addressed and answered. This is the case for your particular issue. There are already threads about this and a little bit of reading would do you a whole lot good as well as answered your question already.

I've searched around the forum and nothing. For this reason I created a new topic with my particular case
gps status and fix
its common issue. If you did go through the forums properly there is a simple app called gps status and fix available on playstore for free. That did work for most of them and me then why not you?

Nothing? A less than 30 second search turned up this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2229363
Also, which ROM are you on? You'll need to thoroughly read the op of which ever ROM you're on because many have known issues and if I'm not mistaken GPS is one of them.

HTC One X CleanROM 7.0 restarting

Hi guys, I installed CleanRom 7.0 on my HTC One X yesterday, and it has restarted by itself 2 times now, I know there was a bug with CleanROM 6.5 that if you had wireless activated, this COULD happen (not too often though), but with this new release (7.0) I didn't even have the wireless on and still the phone restarted.
Do you guys know what could be the problem?
Thanks
Ha, no seriously, do you guys keep posting this question as a joke?
Its been asked and answered so many times, I assume this has to be the case.
To be nice, just read the last page or so of posts on the CleanROM thread (which I always do anyway, whenever I install any new ROM), and you will find the answer.

To be completely honest, I could not find the exact same problem for my phone and the ROM that I am using in any forum, but if this has been asked and answered a lot of times, could you tell me the answer once again so I can fix this problem?
Thanks
How could you not find the answer? You literally can not go through any more than a few pages in the Cleanrom thread without finding this issue (and the fix) reported. Redpoint even told you exactly where to look in his post, in the time it took you to ask him for the answer again you could have found it yourself. One of the most important rules of XDA is to search before posting. This thread is yet another one to add to the ever growing, ridiculous stack of unnecessary threads which would have been avoided if the OP simply searched properly.

Read my previous response again. I think I edited it while you were typing your reply.
It will tell you exactly where to find your answer.

Don't know why you get so mad... as the other guy said in the post below, he EDITED his previous post while I was posting my reply, after I read his edit, I went and search for the problem, which I found it exactly where he told me, so now it seems that my phone is working again.
Anyway, thanks for you answers, I did manage to fix my phone with your replies...
I didn't get mad. The point was that you can't have searched very hard because as I said the answer is plastered all over every single Sense 5 ROM thread in this forum. Even without Redpoint's directions it should have been easy to find. The point is to do the searching before the posting, as I said it's part of the rules and is your responsibility as a member of XDA.

I agree with all timmaaa said. I was feeling charitable when telling the OP exactly where to find the answer. Really, it does no good for us lead folks by the nose to the answers that they could have easily found themselves.
There is a wealth of info for the taking on XDA, without folks having to ask the same questions over and over.
