What's up? I don't know if everyone have this problem. When i had my atrix2 with the default ICS, the GPS was working perfectly. It was able to find satellites in less than 10 sec onds and also it could connect to all of them. Then i decided to install the 4.2.2 ROM and the problems began. the GPS could find the satellites but once it finds them, it takes 2min to connect to half of themI started looking in forums about a way to fix this problem and found some guides that give the same solution: change the gps.conf values or replace the gps_driver file and enable its permissions but those things haven't solved the problem.
When i flash my cellphone using the RSD to the ICS again, the GPS works normally. I think the problem doesn't come from the gps.conf values because the original ICS just shows NTP_SERVER=pool.ntp.org and it works fine.
Has anybody experienced something similar? I prefer to use the 4.2.2 roms but I use the GPS a lot.
I'd appreciate if anyone can give me a solution.

I've searched around the forum and nothing. For this reason I created a new topic with my particular case
gps status and fix
its common issue. If you did go through the forums properly there is a simple app called gps status and fix available on playstore for free. That did work for most of them and me then why not you?

Also, which ROM are you on? You'll need to thoroughly read the op of which ever ROM you're on because many have known issues and if I'm not mistaken GPS is one of them.

CM9 is not a full release, has a bunch of disclaimers attached to it, and is not yet supported.
Devs that bust their as*es on a rom for 5 months or so don't want to put up with a bunch of "this won't work, that won't work, please help me" posts as soon as their rom is made available. Unfortunately, that is what the majority of the thread over in General consists of. So guess what will happen when the release is posted in Development?
Spend some time searching around and reading the threads. The answer to your issue is out there. If you're not willing to find it, then go back to whatever rom you had before.

In your mobile networks settings, within the apn you use, make sure encryption is explicitly set to something, even if it is none. My carrier needs none, but cm7 on my phone defaulted in none set, which wouldn't work.

Hate to admit it cuz im a nice guy usually but your right. Sometimes i even would go as far as saying i wish our g2x wouldnt even receive ics, so at least most if not all the crybabies would leave our forums and do that **** elsewhere.
Ya we were all noobs at one point but if you finished at least grade school you know how to read, so do some damn reading up in the forums and quit being spoonfed by the pros.

Must I really make 10 random posts just so I can do that? (I realize I may be able to PM RandomKing directly, but I figure it'd be good for other users to also be aware of what bugs are out there for these roms ...)
I guess I'm a little annoyed at being prevented from doing something that I considered "good" for the community ...

Did you read threw the thread to see if others had this issue? What did you do to try and fix it? Did you look in the Q&A forums in your device forums?

Yeah, I read through the tread, and as far as I can tell, the bug's been persistent through several versions of the rom. It was claimed that it was fixed with his latest version, but I guess not ...
The only fix I had found was to reboot the phone Today, the "app" to make calls (I think it's called "phone?") crashed several times, meaning I can't call people reliably, so I think I'm going to try a different rom. Thanks again for your help though!
same here. I'm having an issue with another rom myself, and just want to post to the developer a major bug that I am having. I read throug the entire forum post for that rom, and no one else mentioned the issue that I'm having.
its pretty bazaar that I when I answer a call waiting call no one can hear me. If I switch back to the original call, the same problem happens no one can hear me. This is only when i get another incoming phone call.
The rom i installed is for Energy Rom sense 3.5

I was wondering if anyone can help me fix the gps on my infuse. Right now it detects 0 satellites(0 in view/0 in use). Does this mean the hardware is faulty or is it a software issue? Any help would be appreciated.
This is a known issue.. the right place to ask this would have been in the CM10 q&a thread.. actually in the last 2 pages there is a probable fix .
A little searching before posting helps..

I've looked into that thread and quite a few others. Unfortunately, no solution has worked so far, I'm still not picking up any satellite.

Hi guys, I installed CleanRom 7.0 on my HTC One X yesterday, and it has restarted by itself 2 times now, I know there was a bug with CleanROM 6.5 that if you had wireless activated, this COULD happen (not too often though), but with this new release (7.0) I didn't even have the wireless on and still the phone restarted.
Do you guys know what could be the problem?

To be nice, just read the last page or so of posts on the CleanROM thread (which I always do anyway, whenever I install any new ROM), and you will find the answer.

To be completely honest, I could not find the exact same problem for my phone and the ROM that I am using in any forum, but if this has been asked and answered a lot of times, could you tell me the answer once again so I can fix this problem?

How could you not find the answer? You literally can not go through any more than a few pages in the Cleanrom thread without finding this issue (and the fix) reported. Redpoint even told you exactly where to look in his post, in the time it took you to ask him for the answer again you could have found it yourself. One of the most important rules of XDA is to search before posting. This thread is yet another one to add to the ever growing, ridiculous stack of unnecessary threads which would have been avoided if the OP simply searched properly.

Don't know why you get so mad... as the other guy said in the post below, he EDITED his previous post while I was posting my reply, after I read his edit, I went and search for the problem, which I found it exactly where he told me, so now it seems that my phone is working again.
Anyway, thanks for you answers, I did manage to fix my phone with your replies...
I didn't get mad. The point was that you can't have searched very hard because as I said the answer is plastered all over every single Sense 5 ROM thread in this forum. Even without Redpoint's directions it should have been easy to find. The point is to do the searching before the posting, as I said it's part of the rules and is your responsibility as a member of XDA.

I agree with all timmaaa said. I was feeling charitable when telling the OP exactly where to find the answer. Really, it does no good for us lead folks by the nose to the answers that they could have easily found themselves.
There is a wealth of info for the taking on XDA, without folks having to ask the same questions over and over.
Hello. I updated the firmware to the latest xiaomi.eu on Android11 and found an issue today while swiping. I checked in service mode, no issues with the touch, however strange issue occurs while swiping from the almost bottom center. Is this a hardware thing?

Works fine for me. Try removing the navigation bar. Or settings 3 button navigation, restart, change to full screen and the restart.

Glad I could help. I don't know why people here frown upon posting UI issues that have work around it. Even the smallest issue on an expensive phone can panic anyone and getting answers fast is what matters.

I agree with you. The EU ROM is released by those guys, so why post issues with their ROM here where they will never see? There is a bug reporting thread for each weeks beta release, so please, search your issue there and if it has not been noted, post it on that thread so they are made aware. I don't see the problem here. Have a look at Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra Questions & Answers it has many questions about about EU rom. Maybe these guys should post in there as well and tell them to go to EU site. Unbelievable.

No one is worried about questions and giving help, I have done both in the years I have been here. What some people have a little moan about is some posts are about proper bugs in specific weekly, stable or stock ROMs. The EU ROM is made by the guys in that community, so only posting here is never going to get the bug fixed. Please, if you have a bug, get it added to the official EU community forum too. It may be that your findings will get fixed by doing so but they will never get fixed by just posting here. The more threads on the device, the better the device gets and more info gets back to the users.
