After I updated to JB my recovery doesn't mount the paritions like it used to. I can't clear cache or do a factory reset. Does anyone have a trick to do it without TWRP? Never been stuck without a recovery before. How do you enter in fastboot mode? New to the TF700 but been using android since eclair.
did you check out the jb version of cwm?
i have not tested it yet but it may work for what you need.
Perfect, didn't even see it. Just installed it and worked perfectly. Thanks for everything!!!

about a week ago i updated to the newest cm10.1 nightly with gapps 4.2. after flashing those i tried to flash leankernel. my battery was low and the phone turned off when rebooting after the leankernel flash. since then i cannot flash any kernel. i have to do a battery pull to get back into cwm recovery. once in recovery i can wipe data and reinstall cm 10.1 with the standard kernel. i have tried just about every combo of wiping cache, davlik, fix permissions. still not able to flash any kernel. could it have something to do with gapps 4.2 or the phone shutting off mid flash? if so does anyone know how to repair? i already flashed back to stock and rerooted re-unlocked, etc. thanks
and to clarify , it was gapps 4.2.2
Ive found that 3.4 based kernels work with some roms and not with others.
try an older build date its likely not 3.4 based.
or, if your trying a non 3.4 kernel and it wont boot, try a 3.4 kernel.
If you're trying to flash LeanKernel, what's the zip file you're attempting to flash? Also, what are you wiping prior to flashing the kernel?

i tried the mastamoon 3.4 kernel with no luck . the rom i amrunning is the cm-10 nightly 2013-03-24. the leankernel version i am running is lk_s3vzw_aosp_jb42-v2.9. i wipe cache then wipe davlik then flash, it always worked with that procedure before, but since the problem i have tried wiping both after along with fixing permissions. before this issue it was simple as pi, wipe cache, davlik, flash, reboot .
You could always try twrp. Ha. It would make no sense why you couldn't install a kernel.
I would assume since you went back to Odin stock. It would flash factory kernel and give you a clean slate.
So unless cwm is outdated.... ?
Sounds very weird.
actually that is another variable that i didnt think of. cwm updated from 6.0.1 to 6.0.3 or something like that. but then again the original recovery i used after the clean slate was the ez recovery which used 6.0.1 stupid question, but how does twrp work? i always used cwm. i tried flashing twrp but cwm came up when i went to recovery when i tried using twrp?! that was before i did a stock recovery so it couldnt be possible that i am running both? should i delete cwm before i use twrp? if so how? if you dont feel like going into that much detail, i can search it.
i figured out twrp. never gave it achance. ill see if that does the trick
tried twrp. still the same thing going on. gonna go to bed now. ill check back tomorrow after work to see if there are any more ideas. thanks
Problem solved. I went into my internal SD via astro and deleted all old traces of cwm as well as ez unlock and ez recovery. I was getting a generic (showed setting icon instead of regular su icon)super user screen come up prior to that, after deleting those files the regular super user came back. Rebooted into recovery via twrp , cleared cache, Davlik, flashed lean kernel and it worked. What do you think the issue was? Lingering files from ez recovery? That weird su thing?
for some reason CWN isn't working on my phone. I don;t know if I buggered something up trying to flash it or what, but will my phone;s factory reset option give me an utterly clean slate to try reflashing CWM?
If not, is there a factory spec ROM I can flash in odin that will?
Or can I skip the middle man and just flash a rooted factory rom image instead of messing about with CWM?
Is there a rooted factory rom available?
here are the images

OMG, thank you!
Followed the steps here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32143426&postcount=254 flashed the rooted kernel and I still can;t get into recovery mode, but **** it I got root now so I'm happy!
Also, I can now reboot into recovery via Rom Manager (and probably terminal) so it's good enough!
Edit: And I didn't lose any data!
hye everyone. i'm having an issue with the Gtab plus. its actually weird issue. it seems like i can't wipe data/ factory reset. or even flash a rom every time i try to do the above methods it success until i reboot my device everything come back. if i flashed a stock rom to the gtab plus it will be successful and when the device starts its like i didn't flash anything. i'v tried wipe data / caches from Touch CWM since its the only CWM that doesn't require reboot after flashing it using "update from sdcard from the stock recovery mode" and no success when the device restart everything back. i even formatted the Sdcard from the PC but yet if i reboot the device everything will be restored i'm like "OMFG" what is going on with this device. and most of the time its on Kernel PANIC stats. any help/advice ? what i should do ? because i have tried almost everything. and btw its still on stock 3.2
bump.

Did you buy this tablet new with 3.2 on it? It's possible you have EMMC memory failed which is a hardware fail that occurs when wiping memory on ICS.

Describe exactly the process you are using to flash.

it's not a hardware probem ..the only reason is ..ur tab's bootloader is locked so u need to unlock bootloader then every thing 'll be ok .
So my cousin had the this tablet she hadn't us for a while and she asked to to fix it up. Root it put some apps on it blah blah blah. So i rooted it using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1681155/
Everything was fine and it went smoothly, I had root access, TWRP recovery that it came with and it was working fine.
I wanted to put a ROM on it for my cousin to match her phone so I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2584265
So, I flashed the Rom and it was fine. Then I flashed the Gapps and it said that the system partion didn't have enough space.
Here is where I screwed up (I think). TWRP said that I lost root access and i had to fix it BUT i had to swipe a bar at the bottom to fix it. My dumbass pressed the button in the middle of the screen which was to ignore it. I didn't see what i was doing and i messed up
So I lost root or something and when i turn on the device and try to boot into recovery by holding the Power + Vol Down keys it does not work!
Now I have a tablet with android 4.4.3, no Gapps, no root, no recovery. I have tried to factory reset it but the one in settings do not work.
I'm stuck and I need help from someone smarter. Thank you for anything.
Id start again, sounds like something in recovery got messed up if it thinks the system partition is not big enough for gapps
Flash TWRP with Easyflasher
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012
Download ROM & Gapps to MicroSD Card
I suggest KatKiss #29 & Gapps from this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2592890
Factory reset & Wipe everything except External Storage from TWRP
Flash ROM
Flash Gapps
Wipe Cache & Dalvik Cache
Reboot
Nothing more nothing less is needed, so if it doesn't work by doing the above, there are other problems
ok so i installed the drivers it easyflasher was asking for and now it asks whether the device is SBK1 or SBK2, how do i find out whether the device is B70 or above... I feel dumb again... It also asks if its in APX mode... i need help again
ok i figured out the easyflasher and i get the recovery but, when im done flashing all the files and boot the device it says that i have to repair root, like before and even if i say to do so i lose the recovery every time meaning i have to go and put the recovery back onto it and do everything again.....
alrighty so ive got the recovery to stick, and i got the KitKatKiss rom which is actually really nice, however i don't have root, i keep trying to flash the supersu file but it does not work. thanks for everything already. it would be nice to have it rooted.......

KatKiss is already rooted by default, you should not flash an additionnal supersu zip.
Just Flash the rom then gapps from the KatKiss thread
wipe cache + dalvik-cache
then reboot.
If you're coming from another rom version, a full wipe / factory reset is recommended before flashing too.

As Tim says, and as I said, if you had just followed my instructions and not tried adding your own section of the process, you would have had no problems

Hey there!
I'm hoping that someone can help me out. My nephew who's a wanna-be geek was going to update my ROM (which didn't to be done really, but he wanted to show me what he was able to do). He went and downloaded the latest CM 11, rebooted and went into TWRP 2.7.0.1, did a factory reset, an advanced wipe, and did the Format Data. When he did that, it got stuck in a loop. Nothing happened. He tried to install the ROM he downloaded, and NOTHING! Long story short, by him doing the Format Data, he wiped out my partitions. TWRP, no matter what I try to do tells me it's unable to mount 'data' or 'media' etc. etc. Which is leading me to believe I have no partitions left. I've tried installing the latest update from Asus, and no dice. I've tried restoring backups that I have on my micro SD, and that's not working.
Can someone please help me and tell me how to fix this? Can I get my partitions back? I'm really hoping that I don't have to send this tablet off to Asus in Dallas, TX to have it repaired.
I'm using a loaner tablet from a rental store, hoping I can get my TF 300 fixed.
Any help is deeply and sincerely appreciated.

I was about to suggest you look in the correct forum, but I see you posted there as well. Anyway, your partitions are probably okay, they have just been wiped out, that doesn't mean you lost them. Have you tried reflashing the recovery? Were you able to flash anything with said recovery before that? Wiping the partitions in the recovery shouldn't have any effect on the flashing functionality, no matter which partitions were selected (except for sdcard, since that's where the ZIPs are stored), so there might be a problem with the recovery itself. Are you sure you have the correct one for your device?

Hey there Duchman ...
Thanks for your reply. I have tried reflashing the recovery like you suggested. And after that tried to reinstall CM11.Afterwards reflashing the recovery it says “Unable to mount data." I don't know if I need to flash a more recent version of TWRP, if that would even help.
Before all of this happened I could flash almost any ROM of my choice as long as it was KitKat supported. All of my backups and restores are kept on my micro SD so they aren't accidentally deleted. As far as I know it's the correct version of TWRP. It's worked for me so far, ever since I updated to KitKat.

You could try flashing a newer recovery first, I think 2.7.1.0 is available for your device. Also try doing a hard reset by cold booting - here's a how-to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTU38Ewh8qo (wipe the cache afterwards)
If that doesn't help, reverting to stock is probably your best option. Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757077 (be sure to grab the correct firmware and back up your files)
Have you tried installing any other custom ROM? Does it give you the same error when you try to restore your backup?
Here's what I've come across so far. I did the reset, and that did nothing.
Tried to flash the stock version, after a few seconds, TWRP popped up with FAILED.
I've tried flashing Omni ROM. It will flash, load up, and gets stuck at the boot screen or boot animation. This happens with just about every ROM I try to flash.
Been looking for TWRP 2.7.1.0. I'm not seeing it listed on TWRPs site. Where can I get a copy? Thanks!

Here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772093
Also do try flashing another recovery, PhilZ for instance: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597860
Did you try wiping all of the partitions again?
