does this rom work with the verizon s3? I could not find it in Verizon thread. The ROM looks great so far.
No. Do not flash ROMs from other carriers on your phone. It WILL result in a brick.
Covered many times...please search next time.

It actually wouldnt brick your device as the rom doesnt flash any radios. It might not boot, but it wouldnt brick it. The ATT version of the rom (which is based off the tmo leak) works unmodified (kernel and all) with the tmo version. I have a version in both the ATT and TMO forums and the rom is exactly the same except for the model number in the build.prop. However, I'm not sure it will work on the CDMA variant.

Like what graffixnyc said, the only differences are in the build.prop. Just add the CDMA specific values to the build.prop in BlackJelly (be sure to remove the GSM stuff). Also, take the apns-conf.xml from one of our ROMs like Synergy or CleanROM and replace the one in BlackJelly. That should get you booting.

I'd say just stay away from the ROMs in the i9300 forums. But even those wouldn't give you a hard brick. I know...I've purposely tried to do it by installing Omega and Foxhound.
Thank you for clarifying guys.

Even so I'd be really careful saying that. Someone may read that and think it's fine to flash stuff from other threads while in fact it is really dangerous. The OP only has a few posts so this may apply to him too (no offense, there are some people who read on here all the time and just don't bother with an account until they need to, I'm just sayin)
Hey guys,
I just ported over the BlackJelly ROM the OP requested and will be posting it here for people to use. Since I am pretty much caught up in other projects, both IRL and on XDA (AOSP), this ROM won't be receiving much support as I'd like to give it so I welcome anyone to take the port and make it better. And please, no smartass comments like this:

The build WILL most likely have bugs, some major, some minor, but that is for everyone to fix. I think this will be a good learning tool as well. Oh and if you already weren't aware, you can use kernels from the other carriers. AFAIK, the kernels are common among all carriers (not including the international kernels) so flash away!
Before we get to the download link, MAJOR props and thanks to graffixnyc for BlackJelly ROM. It's great!

I imagine you changed the update-script in it then. The partition difference would brick you for sure. I know several of the two and a half bagillion people that hard bricked did it with omega specifically. And why would you try to brick these. Unless you have a jtag setup or something i don't see the point

I didn't change them. I may have been lucky or something, but I kept the ROM as is and installed it and didn't end up with a hard brick. Regardless, moral of the story is to stay away from i9300 ROMs unless someone makes a successful port.
I was trying to brick the phone for testing purposes.

Yeah they're strict about what they consider to be "best of" threads here.
Personally i don't think it's reasonable to start a whole new thread just so others can choose for you. That's pretty lazy.
As for stability it's always gonna be somewhat unstable, especially if you're rooted.
But here are some slim/lite roms that are supposed to be lightweight and fast and stable.

if you want a quick and easy custom rom solution, just go with something like CyanogenMod. it's still lightweight (compared to stock!) and performs great on the Skyrocket.
but generally, yeah, you're not going to get favorable responses asking a Q like this on XDA. better to just do google searching on your own, or even browse the various ROM threads under Development.

Fixed it now.
Search doesn't work now :crying:
In before the lock. Seriously, spend the time to read or at least look over rom threads. Note what people post about, it could be a problem or bug and even how to fix it. Then once you have enough information, spend the time researching rom flashing, backing up and restoring. Don't even think about flashing a rom without having a plan.
Just try a rom, backup then try another rom. Hated the second rom, no problem just restore the first. Around here you have to put in your own time, sure we'll help point people in the right direction but please dont expect to be handed everything.
Thread Closed for a few reasons:
1) OP please just read the ROM threads and figure out what will work for you, and if not there is nothing wrong with stock if you can not find a ROM.
2) Members, please just report the threads vice posting to them...
Thank You.

Thumbs way up. I was wondering when a CLEAN ge rom was going to hit. Everyone has their own version of the GE ROM with their own little "fixes" and signatures all over the meta data.
Now, with that said, will this actually make our AT&T GS4 phones exact replicas of GE? As in, OTA pushed from the settings menu?

I too am awaiting to convert my 32GB i337 into the GT-i9505G. As if purchased right from Google's little play ground.:cyclops:
I wish we had the availability of whatever the OEM uses when the phones are coming off the assembly line. Hardware is identical, and forks pretty much to be flashed in either direction, then they slap some identifying bar codes on them.
ERASE i337, and install i9505G, partitioned corrections and all.

Fully flash-able with i337
Hello, just wondering if this is fully flash-able with the att i337? I know its probably a dumb question just want to make sure. I would like to thank all the devs for developing roms and kernels and such, I got into flashing roms when the evo came out and ever since then always had to have the top android phone out there. since the evo iv had the sensation, galaxy s 4g, galaxy s2, s3, note, note 2 and s4 the only reason im asking this question is because (htc set aside) this is the first galaxy that ive had that had locked bootloader (i believe) and every so often when flashing a rom i get a Kernel source error so i just end up flashing a Ktoonez kernel and 99% of the time fixes the problem. im using twrpr recovery and would like to use CWM but do wanna lose my back ups from previous roms, again, sorry for going on and on and really do appreciate all the devs work. Ive had an xda account for a while but didnt post much so sorry for having 2 questions in one also would appreciate it if someone could be so kind as to point me in the right direction where i could donate to the devs.
thanks

Interesting. AMFD modem. I wonder if the modem will be flashable since it seems a newer revision than AMF3 on regular SGH-I337's.
Hopefully the full dump will help in researching work arounds for the locked bootloader.

Exactly. AMF3 is currently the latest official modem from AT&T/Samsung for I337. The Modem in this is AMFD, which by the numbering scheme seems newer. Compatible: No idea but newer it seems.

Sign it, then flash on my AT&T variant?
So now we can have ROM's bumped - are we limited to only D850 ROMs or is there some compatibility outside of that? I'm ready to load CM11 on my device at this point. I don't mind the LG skinning but just by disabling the installed AT&T apps and disabling other LG-esque apps you can free up a GIG of RAM. I'd love to see a slim ROM fly on this device.

I would think that you should always stick to ROMs intended for your device, including any indicated for all variants. ROMs for other models will likely have kernels that are not intended for the D850.
D850 specific ROMs will start popping up shortly.
Since I'm not a programmer I will agree with your assessment czucker. I realize that different devices / different kernels are out there. What I didn't know was wither or not there was specific bits that differentiate the T-Mobile builds from the AT&T ones. Meaning, would the only change necessary be the APN?
My advice, NEVER flash anything that isn't intended for the D850. If something happens people on here may not be able to save you. Personally it's not worth the risk. Just WAIT... Roms will be coming in.

I really wish we could get a developer to chime in on this "development thread" rather than just throwing speculation out in to thin air. Clearly some devs have managed to get roms going with a unified build on "same-hardware" devices. One example is the Galaxy S4.. every device was exactly the same apart from the cellular modem (which you don't flash anyway with the OS image). And, the recent MIUI v5 build for our G3.
I'm just trying to open this topic up for anyone adventerous enough because clearly it has worked on many other devices.. and will probably with ours as well.
After Bumping an image would we have to zip it?

Me either. There are carrier specific/TMO specific files, even though the hardware/TMO G3 will unlock and work on ATT. Patience is a good thing.
But heck, someone's always ginny pigging about, go ahead and let us know.

CAUTION with 5.1.1 UpdateG925PVPU2B0F7I've been spending some time reading T-mobiles issues with the update. This isn't a super new conversation, but is probably new to many Sprint users. The update appears have rollback protection, which effects both kernel and bootloader from what they are saying... Which I find slightly confusing since I didn't think that their was a locked bootloader on the US versions (maybe someone can assist with that)
Figured we could start the conversation early for Custom Root/Recovery/etc. users, so that we may save some of us some trouble with Soft/Hard brinks in the next week or so.
This is the thread I've been looking at.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s6-edge/general/psa-odin-5-1-1-t3136151
EDIT:
NO, the bootloader is not locked with the 5.1.1 update.
Rather, "Factory Reset Protection" (an Android thing - not a Samsung thing!) is now an option, which allows you to lock the bootloader yourself, protecting your device from someone installing a custom recovery, wiping your device and making it their own. It makes the device somewhat less valuable, and therefore (supposedly) less likely to be stolen.
The 5.1.1 upgrade looks to be a "permanent" upgrade, meaning we're not able to revert back to 5.0.2 kernels and recoveries.
So, I would suggest to sit tight with your current set up. In order to customize our devices we will need to wait for:
A) Root for 5.1.1
-Root has been achived: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...elopment/5-1-1-stock-of7-kernel-root-t3153396
B) Samsung to post the source code for the new kernel.
C) Custom Recovery
-Recovery has been achived:
Once we have the above, we can get back to modding our devices.
If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
Interesting article, I remember several other older Samsung devices where you could not downgrade bootloaders and modems. IE Galaxy S3, note 3, s5. But there was still root, Roms and the ability to flash kernels. Hopefully there's no need to go back anyway. The kernel thing is something new so I may hold off on upgrading. Thanks for the info

This is my first Samsung, so the whole root recovery process was almost too smooth since I've been on the HTC side for 5 years. Unlocking bootloaders, S-off and requesting tokens to push.. Ugh, as must as I likes HTC and Sense, that sucked.
I think I'm holding off as well, untill Sac23/ Ram9200 might have spare time to look over the update first and make sense of it all and could at least get it to where V.2 is right now. But it sounds like the Kernel could be our hold up, without Hybridmax's current support.

This is my first Samsung, so the whole root recovery process was almost too smooth since I've been on the HTC side for 5 years. Unlocking bootloaders, S-off and requesting tokens to push.. Ugh, as must as I likes HTC and Sense, that sucked.

Yea but based off of my years of experience and having Samsung devices, I'm pretty sure that someone will find a way moving forward, but going back probably won't happen. I too had an HTC evo years back lol and I couldn't stand the root process. I feel your pain. But yea it may be wise just to wait for a while on the update

I've been keeping up with the thread. Looks like T-Mobile got it worked out and looks like it didn't affect the international variant. US cellular just got it. Let's see what happens with them

Thanks for the update, I'll add that Link to the OP
A9 owners speak up!! This is for all A9 owners and would be A9 owners who would love to see development of AOSP and CM based ROMS. GPE port from the M8 and any other ROMS. As well custom Kernels like ElementalX. Thanks to @jcase we have S-off, modified boot image for disabling forced encryption and allowing root and @Chainfire we have SuperSu and @Captain_Throwback and @Dees_Troy we have TWRP. A million thanks to all involved in the development so far. I would just love to get a feel for how many users out there are waiting for and would help support the development of custom ROMS and kernels! Let the wishful thinking be heard :good:
Also love to hear from developers! Progress, status updates etc etc
UPDATE: First ROM is now here! Thanks to @Captain_Throwback Located here!!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...9-base-roms-recovery-flashable-t3282335/page4
I wil definitly would love some customs kernel
I am waiting for this from Beginning. Can not wait anymore. .
:laugh::good:
Thanks
Okkkayy!! So I knew the fan base for this device was low compared to say the M7 and M8 but didn't realize it was this low Expected to hear WAY more than this!!
I've been waiting as well.

HTC!!! Good to their word! Just got 6.0.1!! [/ATTACH]
It would be good to get some CM development up and running.
What's new in this 6.0.1 ? ??

Well, one thing I don't like is that it now requires your pattern or pin to unlock the device after a reboot where as before after a reboot it would unlock with the just the finger print reader It can now read the new 6.0.1 emoji-cons but still cant send them. They just don't show up in the keyboard. I want to pop my verizon SIM into it and see if anything changed there. Still testing otherwise. Haven't noticed that much else.

Soo, no changes on verizon.. Still shows LTE logo with no bars and LTE data works but to voice or text. With AT&T however, VoLTE seems to now be working on all calls, not just other users on AT&T on iPhone 6's and 6s's which is very exciting!! LTE works during all phone calls.. See screen shots.
What about a bounty for a custom rom ?
Why do you think we are here on XDA?!?! Of course we want custom Roms and Kernels!!!!
Thanks

Of course!! I wasn't doubting that I was looking to see what kind of support for it was out there and judging by the posts here there is very very little

I thought I was the OP of the A9 TWRP thread, not @Dees_Troy?
(or course without him, we wouldn't have TWRP at all)
I'm surprised there aren't at least any stock rooted ROMs floating around the Development forum. I did post one earlier today in someone else's thread, but I'm not sure how much exposure that's going to get. As far as AOSP ROMs go, the good thing is that there is a bit less Sense on the A9 than on previous devices (more like a GPE device), so hopefully that'll make porting CM to it less cumbersome.

Yes, of course!! my bad. Its why I have the little thing at the end that says (thanks to "all" involved in the development so far) not trying to take credit from anyone!!
Yes, I definitely appreciate the more stock google look and feel of the A9 but its no substitute for a pure GPE or CM ROM!
