Hi I've juste bought the note, and its been like 1h i'm playing with it and the wifi always keep disconnecting and then reconnect it self :S and its not my internet connection!!
Dont know if someone had the same issu or if someone knows a way to make it stable?
Thanks
[Edit]
I've restarted my router, its still doing it. Every other devices is working perfectly on my internet connection. I can see the wifi bouton turning off by it self and sometimes the bouton is disable :S (not available to turn on or off anymore) I'm gonna try on another network to see if its my bote or the internet, and then I'll go get a new one!
[Edit]
I went to the store and they gave me another one so problem is now solved!

Uhm, I wouldn't be so sure. If it were a problem with the Note in general you'd have heard people screaming from a mile away. I've used my Note all over Europe, Asia, and the U.S. at hotels and airports and have never had a Wi-Fi drop issue. This is the only setting I can think of that would make a difference. That, or using the power saving settings.
Everything is factory settings :s Im trying a factory reset now but its like if its the wifi turn off then turns on back again all by it self :/ if I go to settings and just watches, the wifi turns off automaticly then turns back on :S I dont know its wierd

I've had my note for almost 3 weeks. Had this problem once. It kept continually disconnecting and switching access points. I powered off my router. Waited ten seconds. Turned it on again. It hasn't happened again. It's been at least one week. I have a Netgear router - WNDR3700.

Hard reset your router and assign the Note a static IP address.
Something is not right

I'm having the same problem. The wifi keeps automatically turning off and on it seems. It does automatically reconnect, but is a huge annoyance.
Tried with 3 different routers, same issue on all 3.
Tried factory restore twice.
Wifi sleep setting is set to be constantly on.
Mine would do the same thing every 5 or so minutes.
Then I installed CM10.

Play Store Description
I'm Home is a new Android Application which automatically starts up your computer when you arrive at home or work, and runs quietly and efficiently in the background of your Android device.
If you are someone who likes their PC to be on constantly so that you don't have to spend time waiting for you PC to turn on. Then this app is a smart alternative which will help you save on energy bills and do a little extra for the environment!
Alternately if you are someone who shuts their computer down when you leave your home/work and turn it back on when you return, then this app will help reduce the time in your day spent staring at loading screens, and you don't even need to take your phone out!

will try soon... sounds interesting...
Very eager to try this, thanks. This could be one of those "Didn't know I needed it" type things.
very creative idea, installed the app and its working perfectly.
One request, it would be great if we could also set a time window. If I come home at 3AM I don't need my PC to turn on
Will be putting this on for the media center, 3TB drives take a while to initialize everything. lol. Pointless on SSD's though

If you are using the broadcast address to send the message (i.e. 255.255.255.255) you may need to enable it in the router settings.
I would;
1)Download Wireshark.
2)Record your ethernet adapter
3)Send the packets on the app using the send test button
4)Then try and see them appear on the live recording, or pause the recording and then sort it by protocol and look for the protocol "WOL" it should be in blue.
If you don't find anything then most likely your router isn't forwarding the packets. If you do then it will probably be something to do with the WOL setup on your PC.
Also WOL only works on ethernet, and only wakes your PC up providing the last windows shutdown was clean (i.e. you don't turn it off using the power switch or it didn't crash during shutdown). Even if the PC is "off", then you turn the PSU off and on again it still wont work. I think this is because it resets your ethernet adapter and it looses it's entry in the routers ARP table (but It could be another reason).
Hope this helps!
Works for me when I send a test packet from the app. Will test again tonight when I come home from work, and see if my PC is on

i have three installed apps not from the play store (i had them before) but this didnt happen, i already confirmed that everytime the network signal goes and comes back again this happens.... i dont know how to remove it, probably has to do with the 4.4.3 update :/

Never heard of anything like this and it's most likely something else causing it (i.e. not 4.4.3, maybe a rogue app).

You could start with anti viruses and alike... or see what processes are running through adb / shell when the message shows up.
Connect the android to your computer running a live logcat and see what happens when that creepy smile shows up.
It's weird, never saw anything like that before, seems like from one moment to another will jump our of the screen and start hacking and slashing :b
Lol it's a 3rd party app. That you can be 100% sure of. If you were to boot your phone into safe mode it would stop happening.

Strange indeed. Could it be a network message of some sort? Though I haven't heard of it before, it's possible that it is a network connection acknowledgment of some sort.
here are my findings..
current network: TELCEL (mexico)
smiley appearing after loosing and regaining signal (doesnt matter if it has data enabled or not)
apparently theres a sim toolkit in every sim from TELCEL, i thought that it might be the main issue (toolkit is some services the network provider has )
current solution: changed runtime from dalvik to ART, has been almost 24 hrs without that smiley... just fyi

Hello
Im having problems with my wifi. When its on for some time then it bugs out and shows its on. I cant connect to networks and i cant see the saved networks. This also happens if it loses wifi signal for some time (i think 10 minutes). Then i have to restart my phone and then it shows the wifi is off, and when i turn it back on everything works again. (Until this happens again). Im not rooted and have a locked bootloader. Stock KitKat rom in europe (belguim). If you need more info then ask for it, ill be happy to give it and solve the problem
This is most probably the WiFi router issue. Make sure that you've reliable connection.
Check out my Blog for info on router setup.

Depending on what games your playing the data should either be backed up on a social media account, and most have the option to sign into either google + or google play games.. They back all your data up..
Mine does anyways.
I am constantly flashing ROMs.. Or resetting my phone cause I've buggered something up. It doesn't take me long to reinstall them all.
You do have the option of using the app Helium from the play store. It backs all your apps up to a cloud storage like Box.. Or Dropbox

I am going to give it another day or so see if it works itself out if not going to ask for a replacement.

K, I'm on sprint but my bat screen doesn't look anything like that . . . If you turn on airplane mode, what happens?
Got an idea. Settings-->Data usage-->Menu-->Show Wi-Fi usage
tap wifi
there should be a list of apps under the graph.
Do a full reset, then check the bat page to see if wifi is still on, and then check that list above to see if anything is actually using it.

Did u swap out at the T-mobile store? I am curious what they said.
Last night i charged to 100% just let it sit on my counter and completely dead battery in 3 hours without touching the phone once.
Just to give an update on this thread that I started.
I received yesterday a new unit from T-mobile and this unit works perfectly. No wifi dropouts at all.
So my first unit was a defect
Just factory reset my phone to fix an issue with encryption and for some reason I have no option for OK Google detection from any screen. Option just isn't there. I've disabled a voice but no luck.

Didn't work, option is still missing.
Quick research on the play store shows several people with S6/Edge phones complaining about hotword detection option missing.
And I just checked mine, its missing for me too.
So strange.... had it visible and working on both my new phones this morning, and now GONE - nothing but the one option to launch it from the Google Now screen, all other options done disappeared - wtf mate

Do you guys have the correct language set?
I do. My voice features disappeared as well
Have the same issue. 'Anywhere' hot word detection disappeared yesterday. I also think it must have been the update I ran. Uninstalling the Google now update had no effect though. Also tried setting the language to English US, no effect. Next thing I was going to try was factory reset, but sounds like this don't work either?
Installed Google launcher for the time being. Atleast I can use 'okay Google' from all my home screens until this is resolved.

Same thing happened with the Moto X.
There is a config flag that lists the 'blacklist' phone models. There used to be an app to force the Google app into debug/dogfood mode so that you could change it - but I haven't seen any way to do that w/ the newest versions. My guess is that Samsung chose to disable listen everywhere to try to force people into using s-voice.
