heating with T-mobile compact IV

Hi all,
I've just upgraded to T-mobile MDA Compact IV known as HTC Diamond series. When charging; connecting to PC or internet it becomes too hot. That is much hotter in compare to vario. Is anyone having the same problem as mine?
Cheers
I think this is not uncommon
Yes I have the Orange version and I have noticed the same thing. I also have a HTC Touch Dual and this also runs hot. Not sure why this happens but it's a shame that all that energy is getting wasted as heat energy instead of power for the phone!!!

[Q] battery gets hot even in normal use

Hey folks,
I habe a small question. Ive bought a htc 7 pro yesterday and i noticed that my phone gets Hot, even when i only surf a Little Bit in the Internet or if i leave IT in standby.
I can feel it through my back Cover and im not to Sure if its normal.
I hope you can give me advice wether to Return the phone or leave it as it is.
Greetings Tekkpriest.
PS. Please be gentle about this written english i havemt configured the grammar and stuff yet
are u using the cellular connection or WiFi? or are u in a poor signal area? I find that my arrive does this when I use the cellular connection, its because the cell towers for my área are still weak so the phone has to work harder to hold the signal which causes the heat generation, it also feels hot because the cover is metal and metal conducts heat.
I've noticed that my battery can get hot sometimes too, but normally only after playing games for a while.
I noticed my battery gets really hot too sometimes. It was so hot I had to put it down.
I've had windows phones since the wizard and none have gotten this hot though my tp1 would get almost as hot if I was tethering (downloading) and running multiple things.

[Q] How to enable powered-off charging on HTC 8X

http://www.wpcentral.com/windows-phone-update-3-enables-powered-charging-htc-8x
How would I go about enabling this on an HTC 8X for T-Mobile? I'm running 8.10.12400.899. Probably skipped update 3 since I don't even know if it was officially release for T-Mo phones. Anyway battery life is going to piss because of slow charging and some WiFi bug I've noticed (cannot automatically reconnect to WiFi and keeps old access point until opening up WiFi from settings). It's bad enough I had to move to back to an old Omnia 7 in hopes of better battery life.

GDR3 and the accompanying firmware updates were never released for our branded devices. I am hoping for an 8.1 miracle. You should see if you can install the 8.1 Developer Preview on it. It will fix a lot of software issues, although HERE Drive+ seems to misbehave when I use it with my phone. The issues with HERE Drive + could be specific to my phone though, as this is my 3rd or 4th replacement from HTC.

Reception not recovering issues

Hi all
I recently upgraded from the Galaxy S5 to a Pixel. Something I'm noticing is that the phone is not recovering very well from reception dropouts.
While commuting on the train the reception drops in and out while going through tunnels etc. The S5 would obtain reception again pretty much instantly however I find that the Pixel is taking up to 3-5 minutes to get reception again. I find that a restart of the phone will sort the issue out. Putting the phone in and out of flight mode doesnt seem to help.
The phone is running Android 7.1. Has anyone experienced this issue or know how I can go about fixing it?
Cheers
I'm on T-Mobile. I went through 3 edge 7s and one Note 7. I had the same issue as you and sometimes they wouldn't re acquire signal till I restarted the phones. What do they all have in common with the Pixel ? The snapdragon 820/821chipset and modem !
The latest Nougat beta update for the 7 edge seems to have fixed the issue though and now it re acquires signal fast.

I recently upgraded the device to 7.1.1 which seems to have made a positive impact in alleviating the issue. The Pixel is now recovering much better from reception dropouts while on the train!

Low Signal gets One A9 burning hot and drains battery

Hello community,
I have got an A9 for almost a year now. This begun a few months after buying it (meaning it was not like that from the beginning).
The phone is 100% stock (no root, no unlocked bootloader, no nothing).
The problem is this: When the phone is in a low coverage area (2 bars or less) and I am talking on the phone or using mobile data or even leaving it in my pocket with the mobile data setting turned on (and it is not connected to any wifi network), the phone becomes blazing hot (more than 50 Celsius) and drains the battery within 1 hour max. On the other hand, if mobile data is turned off, or the phone is connected to a wifi, or the mobile signal is full or close to full everything is fine.
I tried factory resetting, I even got the nougat upgrade a couple of days ago and I even tried using it in safe mode, the problem just persists. My only personal conclusion is a hardware malfunction which I truly hope it's not.
If anyone can be of help, it will be much much appreciated.
Hate to say it but every Android phone I've owned does that. It's because its constantly trying to find a signal. You are better just to turn off data in those areas. Unless you need it.

Thanks for the reply Jason. But if you noticed it wasn't doing it from the beginning of its life. I mean having the phone in my pocket and warming my leg... That's just too much. Especially now that summer is coming its going to be huge trouble
