1. I have no idea what that means.
2. Did you follow a guide? Did you use AAHK? Did you try to use a RUU? Downgrade fro mwhat to what? Specifically, step by step, what did you do?

Alternate method

It probably has something to do with the loss of power in the middle of your process. Was this the method you used originally?

I don't know what you've tried so far, but give this a whirl...
Push and hold the "Volume Down (-) button">press the power button. Hopefully you'll boot into the Recovery Menu. If you get it, press the volume down button and when you get to the "Recovery" option his the power button.

Your bootloader has been downgraded to a froyo version and you have a gingerbread shipped phone. Your phone is incompatible with this hboot. You need to use the hack kit to flash a correct version of hboot. Or do it manually if can't get hack kit to recognise your device when it passes the main white HTC screen.

Downgraded using Ace Hack Kit and currently at HBOOT-0.85..0024 with S-off, is this still incompatible?

You won't be able to use hboot. You have to let it try to boot and just hang on whatever screen it does. From there your phone is recognizeable via adb or hackkit. Both can be used to flash hboot. With adb use the fastboot commands.

That is symptom of a messed bootloader. How were you trying to downgrade? if you flashed a froyo hboot or RUU and your device was shipped with GB then you need to fix the bootloader. You are warned about this.

Mytouch 4G broke, basically?

Hey so, im a new member on XDA, (made a new account) >.< But i have a MT4G and the volume buttons broken on the bottom, So i cant turn it on. it goes to the hboot menu, and since the bottom volume rockers broken, i cant scroll down to recover to reboot it. So im kinda stuck here becuase it doesnt let you scroll with the top volume rocker unless you scrolled down already (which i cant)
If someone could help me boot it up (via computer usb cord.. etc etc) thatd be great. or just tell me a way to break it so its not jammed in anymore? without harming the actual phone itself. Thanks
Does adb reboot not work, or does the button override it?
You could always crack the phone open and work on the button itself. Look for a video on youtube regarding mytouch 4G disassembly.

Same problem
Hey so i am actually having the same problem, but im not sure if it is software or hardware.
Details:
-Got the phone and it was running Stock gingerbread.
-Downgraded to froyo and rooted
-Flashed a few custom roms and now it is giving me problems of pretty much thinking that the volume button is always being pressed or something because when i boot i either:
a. go straight into HBoot
b. boots but then Safe Mode
c. Boots but after awhile the system freaks out with volume self going down to vibrate and then i have to restrat
I've flashed stock img .zip (PD15img.zip) a few times and sometimes it got better but eventually back to issue. Only thing i haven't done is turn s-on. I might do that but i've ordered the flex to replace it but wont be here for two weeks so i let you know.
Let me know if anyone else knows whats up please.
---------- Post added at 05:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:07 PM ----------
also when i do boot into HBoot and it allows me to use my rockers, i booted into CWM and did a key test and the volume down does not appear ever.
So have no idea if its software or hardware =(

If i do a battery pull and wait i can boot up normally, just did actually and then i can go thru the system fine but 5 minutes in it starts to freak with the volume down again. When in HBoot it freezes. But in OP he says that you can't move unless u volume down first, that isn't true i was able to scroll using volume up first. Sometimes HBoot freezes, sometimes it takes awhile then i can kind of scroll and either hit recovery or reboot (then chances are ill go into safe mode)

To boot it just try a battery pull and leave it out (overnight works best) and u might get booted, or when in hboot leave there for awhile and then keep pressin the rockers and sometimes eventually it will scroll and do recovery into cwm if u have it and then reboot system
Okay so after 2 days of it booting into hboot, i came to the conclusion that after a little time (usually a 24 hours) it boots up, but the volume botton doesnt overpower the volume when the phones actually on (it doesnt lower volume) but when its off, it seems to be stuck and auto boot hboot. any ideas ? :/
i have no idea what u did prior to all this but i've fixed mine so far. flashed the hboot 86 pd15img.zip. pretty much when u can get it to boot after the 24hours use the opportunity to flash the pd15img. currently trying to unroot it and turn s-on... but right now it is working fine and i am rooted on stock 2.2.1
Update
So im guessing either OP gave up or somehow resolved and this is dead but hers update on mine.
Restored to stock 2.2.1 and hBoot 86 and then turned s-off back to s-on by rooting and then using gfree to turn s-on only. i couldn't restore usin the part7backup or whatever cause i lost it. anyways took a shot and then left phone without its battery for a few days. now it is running fine. have the spare flex in hand too so if it does mess up ill swap flex. if it stays good ill either sell it or try the whole process over again

[Q] Can you break download mode? I think my Skyrocket is FUBAR :[

I flashed the stable CM10 and everything was ok.
Then I flashed 4.2 gapps and set some alarms.
Now the phone is in a boot loop so I try to return it to stock with Odin and when I get to download mode I click Vol Up to get in and I see Andy the Android for a split second before I get a sort of Blue Screen.
I'm wondering if I broke download mode somehow. Is there a fix for this?
I'm shoving the battery in, pressing the two volume keys, letting go when I see the download screen, hitting Vol Up to accept, then the phone reboots as Andy pops up.
Note: even when I don't accept download mode the screen will go blue and restart the phone.
Thanks in advance.

If your phone starts to reboot you're doing something wrong. Download mode should last indefinitely. In fact you have to tell it to proceed to some other step. Re-read Vincom's instructions.

8. How To Put your device into Download Mode: (download mode is NOT the same as recovery mode)
a. Connect the USB cable to your PC, but NOT your device.
b. Remove the battery.
c. Reinsert the battery.
d. Press and keep down both Volume Up and Volume Down keys then insert the USB cable into your device. (On Rogers phones It's just Vol Down.) DO NOT RELEASE THE VOLUME BUTTONS UNTIL INSTRUCTED
e. When You see the screen warning you about installing a rom w/a yellow triangle RELEASE the volume key(s)
f. Now press and release the volume "up" key, you should now be at the Download Mode screen w/odin recognising your phone. -See Pics Below-.

As for the sticky power button, I really don't know. I clobbered it, I listened very carefully to it. The instructions to fix it were like "hit it hard and repeatedly" or something.
When do you think I should be hitting these buttons? before the vibrate, or after? Before the Samsung logo, or after? With power button, without?

Where would I put the rubbing alcohol? Would I need to take apart the chassis/case/housing? I imagine rubbing it on the power button wouldn't do anything.
BTW, sincerely, thanks for the help.
Edit: I bashed the phone, power button first, against the table while it was booting up and I saw my boot animation for a second. I thought it was fixed so I stopped bashing and it just rebooted again.
its 99% the power button, hearing it click is no indication thats its working as its an internal problem, theres 3 links to the problem in the "info" section in the "1 stop" sticky in my sig . taking it apart to get to the internal contact is one way to fix it, maybe the only way to fix it. if phone starts as soon as you put the battery in w/out touching any buttons then its a sticky/failed power button. warranty repair is also another solution
its 1% for a battery and/or battery contact problem

[Q] Is my phone bricked?

Hey guys,
I found your forum after I gave a guy my phone so he could root it but he couldn't deliver. However, when I got back the phone it took longer to boot up and after it got past the "HTC One X" screen, instead of allowing me to put in my PIN to unlock (as usual), it sent me to a blank screen showing only my current wallpaper and the task bar (with the time, power, signal, etc).
The major part of the screen is unresponsive. The three buttons below are unresponsive as well.
I'm able to pull the task bar down and when I click the "settings" button I get this message: "unfortunately the process com.android.settings has stopped"
What does this mean for my phone? Can this be fixed?
Any help would be great. I've done a bit of reading, but I'm still very new to this. The phone is an AT&T HTC One X, 1.85, running 4.0.3.
Thanks in advance.

Yes it should be fixable but we don't know what that person did to your phone.. if he never got to the point of changing the cid. You can just run the 1.85 ruu and then root it yourself if you want because its not difficult. Or if root intimidates you you cab stay stock.
If he did happen to change the cid youll have to unlock the bootloader if its not already and either flash a ROM or s-off and then ruu.
I'm sure this can seem like a lot but everything will be fine. What I need to see is the information in your bootloader. And your cid.
How to get into your bootloader: press and hold power while your phone is on until the back home and recent apps buttons blink 5 times and then shuts off. Once the screen is off. Wait 2-3 seconds and then press and hold power and volume down.
Show me the bootloader.

You're probably supercid. You'll need to unlock the bootloader and s-off. You should install the HTC drivers and fastboot and get to work. Do you want to be rooted and stuff or stock?
The reason I ask is, we will proceed differently if you just want to stay stock but if you intend to flash Roms and whatnot, we will unlock root and s-off and downgrade touchscreen firmware.

No need to hold volume down when shutting off. Only for coming back on into bootloader. Just tested.

Do you have the HTC Drivers, fastboot/adb installed?
If not, Get ADB/Fastboot. Unzip and keep in a folder somewhere. Remember where. I use C:\Android myself. You can have yours wherever is most convenient.

HTC Drivers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2126036
Once you've installed those:
Boot to Bootloader/Fastboot
Plug your phone in to your PC
Shift right click inside the folder where you keep ADB/Fastboot and click in the menu "Open Command prompt here"
Then type in command prompt: fastboot oem readcid
And show me what it says after.

Next is temp root to change cud to supercid

no next is to RUU since OP can't use his phone currently.
Now here's the thing. I am not sure how far the last guy got with your phone. Your HBOOT says tampered.. If he modified the HBOOT, there's a chance you will full, unrecoverably brick. I don't want to be responsible for this happening. That's why I am telling you this. Here's the link if you want to take the risk.

See my last post, sorry, was updating with link.
Run that exe file with your phone plugged in, in bootloader/fastboot. It will, hopefully, return your phone to a working state.

[Q] My phone won't turn on

Hello everybody
I can hardly speak English. Help please. My Nexus5 16gb not included. I installed «GoogleUSBdrive». Unlocked bootloader. Established CMW. Did all wipe. And set Cataclysm [AOSP/Stock]. Phone not included, was a black screen and the words Google. Very long. I got scared and decided to install a stock firmware 4.2.2 via "flash-all.bat" box to start the installation process but it stopped on a 4-speed with the inscription <Whiting for divece>. The phone will not turn on. When connected to a computer is a device "QHSUS_BULK". Сould not find driver
please help meeee
Have u installed Google SDK? Or at least download naked USB driver and browse to it when Windows asked? U should install everything that you'll need first before do anything else

What comes up when you type fastboot devices (assuming you have drivers. Since you unlocked BL) into your command prompt?

This happened on my n7. It wasn't the same scenario. But it did not want to turn on at all. Iv read about N5 users doing this as well.
1. Plug phone into wall charger and hold power button down for 15 seconds.
2. Unplug phone.
3. Hold Volume up+Volume down+Power button for a couple of seconds till it boots back to the bootloader.
It may not do this at the first try so you might have to keep on holding just the Power button for a while and then doing step 3 again.

i'm thinking i'm going to have to let the phone drain dead turn off by itself in that mode since i can not do anything. No button combo's work. If i give it a couple hours or couple days lol maybe the battery will shut off and can start over?
keep the download mode key combonation held down it will eventually go back to that

It should work with the official odin. Any time you need to flash official firmware you must use original odin. Comsy odin is for modified files such as Samfail which I'm sure you most likely tried to root with it.
Mine happened too! lol although now appears to have charged past the 80% limit lol maybe a clue in how to fix samcrazy bug haha. Glad I got this beast rooted wouldn't have it any other way. When it happens just hold the volume down and power for 2minutes straight, bet crazySam never though we would hold it down for that long! lol

Thank you so much. It took my phone over 2 minutes to turn off.
yeah it took at least 5 mins to reboot
Volume down plus power for 5 minutes it worked
Same problem here and yes it definitively works, but I wasn't going to hold those buttons for 5 minutes with my hand lol.
