I'm trying to buy Navigon Europe from Marketplace but it keeps saying my payment details may be incorrect (although they're not).
I've checked with my bank and the requests to buy the app have not arrived with them.
I've chatted online with Microsoft support but they say the problem may be with Navigon themselves and that they will escalate my issue but I haven't had any feedback from them.
I have bought apps successfully in the past with the same card (a Visa Debit).
In desperation I have tried various cards (debit and credit, all OK) and setting up a new Live account but to no avail, and also tried to buy it using a different Windows Phone handset on a different account. I've also tried it from my phone and also my PC (all that Microsoft could suggest, apart from waiting 72 hours between attempts and setting up a new account).
I have contacted Navigon directly about this on a couple of occasions and despite their site saying they get back to people within 24 hours, I've had no replies.
Can anyone think of any way of sorting this out? I want to buy Navigon Europe, the money's there for the taking but neither Microsoft or Navigon seem to give a damn.

I have seen some UK posts relating to the IQ, but I can't see it on the o2.shop site and when I rang O2 "customer services" they said it had been discontinued 2 weeks ago. He went on to put the phone down on me when I enquired further, leading me to suspect he may have have been being 'creative' with the facts?
Has anyone got one through O2 (I'm guessing you can only get an IQ through O2?) and if so, how much was it?
I got an IQ last month for free with o2 25 at £6pcm on a 18mth contract. AFAIK the IQ is still being sold.
Do you mind me asking how you got it? I don't even seem to be able to get O2 to acknowledge the existence of it, or am I looking in the wrong place (http://shop.o2.co.uk/shop/)?
IQ
I have just taken delivery of an IQ.
I like......
Used to have previous incarnations of XDA2 = XDA2s = XDA2i.
Only downside at this stage is it does not sync with Notes!!!
Just need to get it unlocked...
I got it from O2 - been a business customer for some time.
follow this link http://xda.o2.co.uk/existingContact.aspx.
It does specify a business user - however who/what defines a business???
Re notes, I've found SmartphoneNotes from Syncdata to be a good app.
See my notes on the apps I consider essentialhere
There is no way to order the device except through o2 C/S at present.
Also, it is already SIM unlocked. Haven't been able to get it App unlocked yet though, but this apparently is more to do with the AKU 2.0 update than anything else.
Thanks to both of you for your help

You can't buy it from there though....
true.. although click on "Where can I get one" and they'll phone you back to process your order
I bought a few apps on Windows Marketplace (using Taels ROM on HTC Touch Pro) partly just to play with it, and partly because I like to support app developers...but...
WTF?
I bought one app "Guitar Fretboard Addict" for the heady price of US$19.39. Not really worth it as it turns out. A nice app, but $5-10 would have been way more reasonable. ...at least I'm assuming it's USD. I'm in Australia, and the receipt only says $19.39 (an odd number) and it hasn't appeared on my credit card yet. I'm in Australia, but I'll assume for now Microsoft is being US centric...
But then, (WTF?) I went to http://marketplace.windowsphone.com and was poking around, and there is the same app, for US$9.95! (Like, half price). Weird...so I log in with my passport account, and the price jumps to $19.39!! How special do I feel?
Has anyone noticed anything like this before? Any explanation? What prices do you US based folks see if you check Marketplace from your handheld?
Just a theory, but I'd guess that by logging in it converted the price from US dollars (the default) to Australian dollars based on your Live account settings.

That's the only semi-reasonable explanation I can think of (but can't confirm until it comes through on my CC statement).
However, even if true, that is one [email protected]&ED exchange rate. Given that the Aussie dollar is 92c US at the moment, it should be more like AU$11 or so, NOT AU$20.
I would like to bring to your attention to what I understand may be a scam.
I have received about 4 phone calls over the last month or two from an Indian sounding voice, claiming to be from “Vodafone Business”
They first of all introduce themselves, and also seem to know my name. No security checks are asked. Alarm bells were ringing pretty much instantly, however I asked them to confirm my address, to which they were able!
They asked if I have upgraded my handset in the last 12 months. Strange question I thought! This is something I would expect Vodafone to know. I basically said that to the caller. They ignored what I said, and carried on asking “so do you have a Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericson Handset” at which point I just hung up!
My partner also receives these calls, as does one of my colleagues at work. All three of us have small businesses, and I am convinced that they are trolling Google for basic personal info. As when you type the name of my photography business into Google, it actually displays my name, address, and mobile phone number. I think this is how they were able to confirm my address.
Anyway, just thought you should be aware of this, as who knows what personal information they could have tried to ask me for had I not been on the ball.
Looking forward to your thoughts and responses. I have sent Vodafone an email.
I believe all retailers are able to check when contracts are due for renewal.
All they do is scan the database for when this comes up and call you hoping to get your business rather than you sticking with your current provider (ie Vodaphone directly or another retailer such as CPWH).
I used to get them all the time on Voda.
Dont belive this is the same thing, for the following 2 reasons.
1. im 6 months into my current contract with Vodafone. (been a customer for approx 7 years, so this is obvioulsy an upgrade.
2. They said they were from vodafone business, not someother company. in other words, they were pretending to be Vodafone! thats not right!
It was probably a Vodaphone reseller. We have tons of them for TMO here in the states. IF this was the case he would have access to all your info from vodaphone. He basically makes money when he resigns you, upgrades you, or sells you a smartphone.
I used to get them throughout the contract when I was with voda.
thinking about it I've had none on o2, maybe voda sell their customer database hence more chance of being called.
another reason I'm happy to be rid of them!
Ok, so I have been searching all night but to no avail. Has anyone ran into an issue where their TMo Payment Account showed Expired in the Android Market? When going through my phone, the only option for payment I have is Credit Card. When going through browser It shows Credit Card and "Tmobile USA Expired" which is greyed out. I am current with my bill and have tried both USD and other curancy apps. No luck
Also, I am running new Android Market. Thanks for the help guys
I'm having the same issue. Can't seem to find anything on the google checkout site, android market site, or tmobile site.
Same here. Meh
new market bug perhaps? just checked on my G2 and google checkout is normal (on the old market)
if no one else has reported anything similar, would make sense that it's something with the new market considering most people are still using the old one at this point.
I called T-Mobile, they said it was nothing on there end. Currently talking with android support at Google to figure out what's going on.
Deleting the account from Google checkout, then using the old market to readd the account gives the same result, show the T-Mobile account as expired.
I was able to purchase SBP Shell through my Tmo account, so it seems this may just be an isolated issue

It seems that billing to the Tmo account only works with apps that list the prices in whatever currency your country uses. I was looking closer at the Titanium Backup Pro Key and it says you must use a payment option that accepts charges Swiss Francs. I guess T-Mobile USA only accepts charges in US dollars.
I looked into that but some USD apps I was still unable to purchase in that mannor
Same issue...possibly resolved.
I just ran into this when I was buying SwiftKey X. It advertised for $4.07 from their beta app link, then it was $3.99 in the market on the phone and $4.05 on the market through the pc.
When I went to pay with a card, it told me the total would be £2.48. I guess they're masking prices and not telling customers that it isn't available through carrier billing without the USD being the final choice.
any1 figure out a fix? i wanna buy fpse!
I'm in the same boat. It seems to work about once a month. My bill was paid two weeks ago so it makes no sense. After about two weeks of waiting it'll let me buy the same app that I w3as trying to buy when it said it was expired.
Hi,
My Nexus 5 was purchased from the U.S. Play store, paid for with a U.S. card and delivered to a U.S. address. (my American colleague helped me out with all this!). My Google account was set up in the UK, although I am now living in West Africa, in Ghana to be precise
Google have kindly agreed to replace my handset, which I've managed to get back to the States. They can send me a time-sensitive URL to sort out the replacement process which basically involves entering U.S. card details for payment although no funds are actually removed from the card itself.
The problem is I need to access the U.S. Play store on my notebook so I can properly use the link (which is somehow linked to the U.S. store) but even using a VPN and selecting a U.S. city, I'm not managing to get into the U.S. Play store and see USD prices, still seeing UK
Does anyone have an idea how I can get into the U.S. play store while still based here in Ghana? If you've done something similar before, I would really appreciate some detailed instructions
Thanks!
