Nexus 5 replacement / Play Store - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My Nexus 5 was purchased from the U.S. Play store, paid for with a U.S. card and delivered to a U.S. address. (my American colleague helped me out with all this!). My Google account was set up in the UK, although I am now living in West Africa, in Ghana to be precise
Google have kindly agreed to replace my handset, which I've managed to get back to the States. They can send me a time-sensitive URL to sort out the replacement process which basically involves entering U.S. card details for payment although no funds are actually removed from the card itself.
The problem is I need to access the U.S. Play store on my notebook so I can properly use the link (which is somehow linked to the U.S. store) but even using a VPN and selecting a U.S. city, I'm not managing to get into the U.S. Play store and see USD prices, still seeing UK
Does anyone have an idea how I can get into the U.S. play store while still based here in Ghana? If you've done something similar before, I would really appreciate some detailed instructions
Thanks!

[Q] Question for Canadian users of the Play Store.

I'm unsure if this is the best place for this thread, so move if needed...
Just before getting my Nexus 7, my wife and I finally paid off all our credit cards and got rid of them all. I expected that if I wanted to purchase something from the Play Store, I could simply use a prepaid Visa/Mastercard (I don't purchase many apps, so I can deal with silly fees on these things).
Anyway, I've had various friends tell me that they've never been able to get these to work on the store. So, I'm asking you....do you know of any prepaid cards that will work on the Play Store in Canada?
Thanks.
Not sure about the "Gift" type of prepaid cards work, but I have a Visa Titanium (pre-paid, reloadable) from MoneyMart that I use for online shopping and I can confirm that it works with the Play Store.

Thanks, I'll look into that.
I use Mastercard Vanilla cards (prepaid) and then just register them to the USA.
Believe it or not, 90210 counts as a valid zip code! (like the show haha)
Anyways, register it on the Mastercard Site, (just Google Mastercard vanilla) and then go to the play store, add funds and enter the card number.
Works for me like a charm, hopefully works for you!

Welp, decided to answer my own question.
I picked up a $25.00 Visa Gift Card from my local grocery store, and it works perfectly.
All that's needed is to register the card with your name and address on the issuer's site. Google then allowed the card to be added in Wallet easily.
The one I purchased had a $3.95 upfront fee and no other fees after that. So, that's fair enough in my book.

Google Store Question

Does Google Store accept payments from outside the US? I'm thinking of buying a Nexus device through the Play Store and ship it to a shipping company that gives me a US address, which will in turn, deliver it to my home outside the US. So yea, do they accept any payments from VISAs and Mastercards from any place in the world?
May be they will just deliver your purchased device as long as you pay them or if u contact them correctly and clear so that they can access you with proper address.
I think yes (I'm not live in US)

[Q] Purchasing N5 from other country

Hello,
I've just ordered a Nexus 5 from Google Play and sent it to a friend of mine in US.
I used my credit card but in the billing address I used the shipping address (in the US), so it will let me purchase is, because Google Play doesn't sell it in my country.
The order was successful, but I heard of people who ordered but later got their order declined because of their credit card country that mismatched the shipping address.
Does anyone know after how much time I can be sure my order "passed the test" and won't be declined?
Thanks,
Elad

Google Play Gift Card

It has only been a few days, I think Google has caught on. Now Google Play Gift Card Redeem is now geolocked.
So here's the story my google account is set up as India as the country of origin. Bought a giftcard, I tried to redeem it but unfortunately it showed me an error. Saying it is only redeemable of the country of purchase.
I used a paid VPN to see if it works and still no luck.
The feature used to work a few months back Now it doesn't.
Does anyone has a fix for it ?

Google Play Gift card complete transaction error reported to Google
Google Play Gift card transaction reportedly won't complete as Google Play throws error, issue acknowledged and reported to Google.

I think you'd better contact the customer service of Google Play Store for help.
