Think this says it all. And my husband would have to apologize to everyone if he was inappropriately chatting with jalaazul. Sorry but this shouldn't happen on here.

Dang, one of these days lol
I'm so confused. So you're a user's wife (or husband, excuse me), and you caught him cheating with another woman (or man, excuse me) here on XDA? Now I've seen it all...
As SimonTS has said, this will most certainly be closed just like your other one was.
Just as with all sites, XDAs owners are not responsible for what gets posted on the site. The exact same is true in this situation aswell.
This is something which needs to be taken up with your husband, not something which can be blamed on XDA.

If your only plausible contribution to this forum is to tell people to post in the correct thread, DON'T.
If you are not a Dev, or a mod, and you get the urge to tell someone they posted in the incorrect thread, DON'T (those groups are MORE than capable of doing it themselves).
If you have the urge to do anything but be helpful and kind to your fellow XDA members, and cannot control yourself, FIND A NEW HAPPY HOME.
If people were HALF as LIGHTNING fast to help as they are to chastise someone for posting in the wrong damned place this would be a MUCH better place to get help.
I can pretty sure guarantee no one would be hesitant to ask for it, LIKE THEY ARE NOW.

The forum is broken, it's not showing you as a moderator!
There. I fixed the flaws in your post.
I do agree though. Don't post that someone's thread is in the wrong forum, it doesn't help in any way. Just let us mods know, so we can move them.
Thanks for pointing this out Morkai Almandragon, people should be aware of this.
I agree. People should be nicer. I've seen plenty get angry at noobs or just people not paying attention. At the same time, I have also seen people jump on someone, accusing them of being hateful to a noob when they really weren't (person was just overreacting such as here). Niceness goes down both sides of the aisle.
In short, think about what the person was thinking before you reply to them if you think they are in fault about something. I can save lots of ranting/off topic derailing.
I completly agree.
I come from the x10 forums and the behavior over there has become absolutely disgusting over the past few months.
Its really starting to get annoying, every second thread becomes a flame war.
People need to remember what XDA-Developers is about, because last time I checked, it was about discussing mobile devices and expanding their capabilities, not about using terrible language and abusing others. What is this, an iPhone forum? (Sarcasm)
(Sorry to stick my nose in another devices forum where its not wanted, I just felt the need to share)

I am not, nor did I know I had to be a mod to post what should be common sense.
Do you disagree with what I said Mike?
Quite frankly I am sick of watching dev's leave, and watching new people not ask questions because they fear someone will chew them out for miss stepping.
If someoen posts to the dev section on accadent it takes about 2 minutes for someone to post that they were not in the right forum... how long is the average wait to get help?
Maybe I have the world back wards, but it seems to me we should be quicker to help than to chastise.

Settle down , he was just making light at your post being edited for language I believe. He made no judgement on what you said. No need to jump on a user and do what you are saying people shouldn't do (being mean).
edit: okay maybe it was directed at you as seen ↓↓ below ↓↓ (unicode ↓↓ arrows are awesome btw ) but yeah you are being a bit hot headed and just encouraging people to want to attack you by the way you choose your replies + language.
Your words would have far more impact without calling out single members and leaving out the curse words

It's off topic, and doesn't belong in this forum. It's hypocritical for you to correct people, by telling them not to correct others.

Mike you are missing the point completely.
I am not posting this in a thread that someone ELSE posted asking for help.
I am not making someone who came here looking for help FEEL LIKE CRAP.
I am not cluttering up a post that may very likely get found in a search by someone else with the same problem as the original poster.
While a post by someone with a problem may very well be in the wrong place, or may very well be EASILY answered with a search, when the only replies are chastising them for such, future people with the same problem have the joy of sifting through every post just like it, where people asked the same questions they have, only to have never been answered.
It is one thing to answer someones thread with a helpful comment, and mention they should check the forum rules, or post in the right place, or explain the search function. This sort of thing is helpful and productive within the community.
What I complain about in the first post is not helpful and in fact causes our community to erode.
I do not really see anything hypocritical here at all.

Yep. Can't say how many times I've mentioned that in threads... I don't think this thread needs to go any further.
before i start this thread please understand i have been "stalking" this site and the forums gaining much knowledge of the devices i use and have owned... in NO way am i trying to bad talk any general mod or admin in anyway and dont mean for this to be insulting to anyone...
my question(s) is:
Why do most if not ALL moderators feel the need to threaten people in EVERY forum... now i can understand if there is a person swearing at someone... but honestly most of you flaunt your BAN powers a little to much... as if we cant see your "moderator" title and know when to shut up and grow up till you leave jk lol
now with that said i understand some of you have a life outside xda... and may get a little "pissy" then log on to XDA and see 50 PM's about a person or forum being out of control... you then go in there with a chip on your shoulder and not only get MORE pissed off... but make someone pissed off or upset by your NerdRage banhammer powers of steel
i think you need to understand that we are people too... just as you are... we are no perfect and do not mean to make mistakes... but with that SO DO YOU... so please if any moderators read this next time you "clean" a thread and decide to leave a cocky comment regarding your powers of vacation giving... try politely telling the general public to do what you ask...
(PLEASE INSERT USER FOR PEOPLE... IF YOUR A IGNORANT PERSON THAT THINKS EVERYONE IS FACELESS OVER THE INTERNET)
i really enjoyed xda a year or so ago... when it wasnt so violent and people where nice... but i think XDA moderators should set an example of those who are rude... and be the bigger person rather than blatantly abuse there privilege's
let this thread die... or comment i dont care... hell even ban me or send me on a vacation... some one needed to say this in my opinion... and obviously many people on here CANT have that very thing without someone *****ing at them.. or stepping on someones toes
hope XDA can start this new year off better than the last one ended
thanks
The short version: It's their JOB
The longer version. They are responsible for helping to keep XDA a innovative thriving board that has a wide range of users from a wide variety of different backgrounds and experiance. They not only have to deal with keeping the regular userbase happy but they have to ensure xda remains a productive and successful family friendly (for the most part) website, and in doing this they deal with alot of stupidity, trolls, spambots, incorrectly placed posts, whingers, drunkards, spammers, scammers, noobs, rickrolls, memes, tired old jokes, and self entitled douches (to name a few).
Some people may behave when they know a mod is watching whist others may continue being dumbasses or annoying or breaching the rules and may require a more firm approach. (Although in my oppinion a warning is not a firm approach, a flat out ban or suspension without a warning is). XDA is a informitive treasure-trove of awesomeness that covers a wide veriety of tablets, phones, programs and platforms, and whats more? ITS FREE! Sure feel free to whinge about being warned for a percived infraction but really you should be taking it up with the mod who did it or other mods cause this type of thread will get you no where. Believe it or not the tolerence level here is pretty high, as long as you post in the correct areas and make a minimal attempt to remain on topic, they are not too hard and if you are feeling like being stupid, they even provide a forum for people to be stupid in (check out the off topic section, I do regularly. Its funny..... sometimes.)
SO in the end you can either be in here whinging or out there making productive use of yours and your phones time, otherwise there is that little X in the top corner of your screen.
And remember:
I tell you. Most moderators take this site to seriously. It's like it's their baby, also some of them are very sad And have nothing better to do than ban people.
Really you just have to put up with people that don't have a life outside this forum.

That ban threat that you are talking about is a generic copy and paste message. Why should they type out a personalized message to the hundreds of people breaking the rules everyday? And it really isn't a threat. If you continue to break the rules, you WILL be banned.

I can tell you first hand the Moderates on this site are some of the best people I've ever encountered anywhere. And they have a site with near 7 million members to watch over. Then along come people who got "in trouble" for breaking the rules that they agreed to when they registered, calling moderators power tripping jerks. :silly:
Well, I will need to disagree. The tolerance most show amazes me at times. If you only knew the messages we often receive. Again, an incredible group of people here selflessly donating their time, for free, to help keep this site great.
All that said, me, myself, I lean to the jerk side.

it seems people here have forgotten what this term means..
i posted a ROM on XDA that i found from a different site. credit was given to the rightful development team. all i did was spread the word and share..
this is the entire basis of the linux community.
a lot of people here complain about users being too needy, but honestly a lot of the "devs" are too greedy and full of themselves.. team inferno, for example, who has SOME members that act as if they developed and invented android themselves... when all they really do is a few graphic/theme enhancements.
there is absolutely nothing wrong with posting and sharing open-source work even if its not your own contribution, as long as the right credit is given. read the terms and conditions you more than likely blindly accepted when first using android or installing the SDK..
to the mod that closed my thread: thanks for aiding in the destruction of the community. i didnt think letting XDA know about what else is out there was such a crime. wait, what you guys are doing is more of a crime, which has potential of shutting down the entire virtuous team. but i love their work and im not an asshole so ill let it be
cool story bro
Another useless thread that will be locked. The reason why again, since you can't grasp the concept. YOU did NOT have the permission to post their work. Open source or not. Doesn't flipping matter. If you look at every single thread someone says with permission by blah, blah, blah. Don't get butt hurt that your little thread that you copied and pasted in the dev section got closed. It happens when you don't read the rules.

i couldnt care less for the thread, whether i post it or someone else..
the point is the entire concept of "community" build around linux is useless when people cannot spread the message of different ROMs or distros or whatever it is. you want more users and testers, not restrictions..
what i did was only against your own made up rules. if you wanted to move the info to the general sub-forum, fine.. but to act as if IM in the wrong for spreading the word on a free and open-source product?..
take your credit for your work, but dont be selfish and hold it all to yourself or restrict it from certain groups. whats the reason for not allowing it on XDA? IT DOESNT MATTER, its most likely some dumb **** anyway..

good for you, you must feel really good about yourself
BTW, whether its a rule on XDA or not is not a concern. when youre dealing with FOSS or FLOSS, the federations rules trump any rule that you or a mod or a forum creates..
what if the ICS camera fix was found on another forum, but those members wouldnt let anyone else use it? do you know how much of a negative affect that has on the community? this is against everything linux stands for..
but thanks for being a jerk

We are all here for the same reason. To learn, build and geek out with our android devices. I myself don't know how to build, but I am a hacker (ethical) My strengths could be your weakness and vice-verse.
There is alot of people I see apologize to people when they didn't do anything wrong. That pisses me off. No one should be made to feel stupid just because you know something they don't. We are here to learn. The most patient dev I've encountered is Rafyvito because he answers questions and is patient. I'm sure its annoying to get the same questions, but instead of being a jerk, why not be flattered that they asked you I'm the first place. Devs learned too.
In short, no one is perfect. Help someone out, even if you think its dumb. To the devs, you guys are all awesome and make having an android awesome. Let's all just have fun and get along.

Mod edit: Removed the personal attack on another member. As posted below, if you have an issue with someone then take it up via PM. Thanks
I understand your sentiment, but you should probably take this to PM to the moderator in question, and if that does not resolve contact a Senior Moderator.
Posting a public rant about it is only going to make things worse even though I know that is not your intention.
Man this forum is already starting to look worse than the G3 threads, where it's full of the same stuff, over and over, everyone needs to keep their mouths shut and quit asking about the fix to this phone and let the Dev's do their damn job. Keep in mind that they DON'T have to do a damn thing for no one. It isn't like you bought the phone and it came with a leaflet stating, "oh, btw, to do any mods on your phone, you will get service here" sheeez...all anyone is doing is pissing off the people we need to help.
Let the bashing begin, I can take it. This is my opinion only!
This is the "general" section.
As long as it relates to the phone in some regard people can say what they want.

As far as banning me, so be it, by the time I return the forum might just be cleaned. I am NOT the only person that has already thought of this. If it would make everyone happy, I reported myself for this thread to be deleted.

this is the internet, what are you sincerely expecting?
Thread closed...If anyone wants opinions, go log on to social media for them. This here is a development site, contribute to that or log off - do not clutter threads with this stuff.
To clarify a couple other points, the general section of any thread is NOT for opinions like this, so it is not okay. Nor is creating this type of flotsam and jetsum and then self-reporting it while being self righteous in the process. When you accepted membership here, you agreed to post by the rules, and this thread is a great example of what not to do.
Oh yeah, always help a new user, and if you are confronted with disrespectful users, report the posts, and do not feed trolls or trollers.... Moderators are standing by to assist.
