Since I have bricked my first Galaxy Fit after 3 days of using, I wonder which ROM (custom or stock) would be the best for this device?
I already ordered the same as new and still wanting to mod it because .. well Froyo sucks
My Knowledge so far
Rooted it and flashed gingerbread with Odin. Worked fine and stable.
To get now to my questions:
1. I would like to know (dis)advantages from the custom roms available for this device.
2. Does every Custom Rom support different languages? Cuz I´d prefer german or ant least english
3. Where do I get the files to flash it and can I use Odin for it or is there a different method needed (which one then pls)
4. Does every app run on custom ROMS?
It is much of questions, I know but it is half as much I want to know
I´ll be really glad about answers to this noobish questions.
check CREEDS ROM 1.5 its very nice, and only have 1 bug, the alarm.
Thank you.
What is the alarm bug means that it doesn´t work?
is Creed to be usable in other languages?
Where do I get the right version for my Device and do I flash it with Odin?

Try FITDroid v.2.0. Its probably the most bug free custom rom out there for our G-FIT.
But now I'm currently on Creed's ROM v.1.5
Creed's ROM Music force closes when you arrange song queues when you create a playlist.. but I installed Winamp from the market and it's great tho..
FITDroid 2.0/Creed's ROM I suggest
I'm on Creed's ROM atm
I liked cm but have some bugs like can't make international calls. So now i use creeds rom. Is ok , i think better than fitdroid. Cm is cool cuz u can oc

Hi all,
I need help deciding which custom ROM to flash to my i9003, but i want one that has full Arabic support and a good camera firmware. If possible, please post images of ROMs you recommend, any help is appreciated
Good camera- gingerbread has dim video recording, so choose a froyo custom rom. Maybe cranium 3.1(I tink its froyo, not sure) and should have Arabic(again, I'm not sure). Check out the android dev section for that rom, and also I believe you can add Arabic patch to any cRom.

hello mate,
Well if you not interested in video record, I suggest for you Cyanogenmod 7 it is so smooth and stable with some issue that can be fixed soon, like video record, apps can't use mic.
this is my chose
and have fun
@bscraze Thanks for your response. Ive been reading a little about Cranium 3.1, and i'm about to flash it but i had a question related to the instructions given by sakindia123:
he says clean flash to XXKPH, so can i flash to JPKP5 instead? it is exactly the same version of gb but just different region (language)
maybe anyone can answer my question without having to start a new thread over it
thanks..

I don't think so, there's no reason not flash to xxkph, unless you're sim locked. If you still want to try, go ahead, I'm not sure weather it will work. If it doesn't you can always reflash, as it will result in a soft brick at most

cranium is GB, not froyo. don't flash the rom without upgrading to GB first. (I see that was mentioned that you know it's GB, so just a warning...). in addition, if you haven't seen it yet and you want to use push mail notification, GB has a bug on all ROMs that keeps it from working properly. if you don't need it, then flash away!

Actually i do need the push mail notification, but i hate the Froyo keyboard, copy/paste options and some other things.. bottom line: i'll stick to GB (thanks for warning)
BUT i want it custom GB (i chose Cranium) and i'm facing the language issue mentioned above

Other popular custom roms include titanium s(IMO it's good) and poseidons rom(many people use this rom) or cranium 5.1.

Well they both have Arabic patch, just that I'm not sure if its preinstalled in cm7. Cm7 has dsp manager which is good, Poseidon I'm not sure if it has dsp manager. Its really personal preference, for me I prefer cm7. Poseidon just wasnt for me . If you try and you feel it doesnt suit your taste, then switch. Right now I love miui so much I haven't switched roms ever since I flashed it, though im aa flashaholic and flash a lot of roms in the past for my android phones

Remember to do a full wipe before and after flashing(for safety) and you may want to flash a custom kernel after that, maybe xda bam or uc kernel, and remember to wipe cache and dalvik before and after flashing the kernel.
Remember that if you can't boot your phone but can access download mode, don't panic, just do a reflash. Eg. Reflash kpq.
PS. I recommend uc kernel v9 2009 or 1009 or 3009 if your phone can handle the overclock. Also, custom roms are definitely better than stock roms have fun flashing

Did u mean DXKP9????
how to choose custom roms
Guys,
I have seen lot of custom roms listed on XDA but still dont understand which 1 to choose from. m thinking of update XXKPQ 2.3.6. Any idea if its stable or can it provide with better customisation.
Thanks
Mohsin
it says in the thread
ViperS 1.2.1 (Avaliable update from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1 on OTA)
We recommend make full wipe before installing this version, if you come from 1.0 or 1.1
**Dont flash any mods, not for this version(like Rosie 4x5 for example) **
The part that concerns me is the part about flashing mods, does this mean i can't flash google now and other tweaks?
the point implies that dont flash mods unless and until it says it supports latest viperS rom
btw GNow is perfectly working fine for me ..i flashed mikexda v7 ..link here (get the one from arm v7 ..as sensation belongs to that group )

I ran the install and did not select anything except the Google Now which has services.jar modification option. It was really simple.

you used this tutorial for you nextgen rom?? right
No! NExtGen is not mine! I'm just a user of it, because it gave me everithing that I need until there is CM9 at 100%(which may already happened, I've mist couple of the last builds)
This from the link that I gave you is enough to make whatever you want, whit any rom, or create your own from 0. So read it couple of times, watch the videos, to get the idea of rom making.

Oprn terminal
Then get git at first
Then using git clone fommand copy the source of Rom you want to build-lets say aokp

JaggyROM will be best for you. Completely bug free GB ROM. Check out the Explorer Index in the Android Developement Forum.

download this zip..extract it
http://www.mediafire.com/?5fdy6rt814647c5
then put the file in system->etc->init.d folder.. you can go there by using any file explorer like es file explorer.then set the permissions 777. delete file 10mount2ds or something like that.basically which have mount2sd name from the same folder. i cant remember exact name.
and reboot.. you can find yourself having memory of your sd-ext partition
i have not made partition i just want a rom that is easy to install and good to go then.
I have tried Cyanogenmod 9 (Presently using) , Ateeqrom , Xenon
any suggestions like these rom which are really easy to install
