you used this tutorial for you nextgen rom?? right
No! NExtGen is not mine! I'm just a user of it, because it gave me everithing that I need until there is CM9 at 100%(which may already happened, I've mist couple of the last builds)
This from the link that I gave you is enough to make whatever you want, whit any rom, or create your own from 0. So read it couple of times, watch the videos, to get the idea of rom making.

Thanks there are lots of guied of cooking custom rom this is one of them
You need to set up dsixda kitchen if you want to make roms like jaggyRom etc , you may run it on cygwin.
Kitchen is very easy
But if you want to compile a Rom, you must have linux or ubuntu.
Oprn terminal
Then get git at first
Then using git clone fommand copy the source of Rom you want to build-lets say aokp
Thrn you can start building

Hey everyone,
I am planning to develop Custom ROM's as follows:
Stock
Stock Ultimate
Clean
Clean Ultimate
Ultra Clean
Ultra Clean Ultimate
Battery Saver
The features of each ROM version will be decided and then the ROM will be finalized and uploaded.
I am also planning to develop each of the above version for different BASE ROM's like
JPM
JPN
XWJPF
DDJP2
The reason to develop the following ROM's is not to provide final CUSTOM ROM's but Basic Custom ROM's which the users can then customize as per their requirements...
SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT ME TO WORK ON THIS COLLECTION...
NOTE: If there is not much response then I will work on something else other than this...

Kitchen is different i think...this will be ready to flash .tar files...
This is just to reduce user's initial work...
And as i said...if i dont get a good response i wont do this...
I work on things what everyone want...
Personnaly I think it should not be done,
we have various Froyo-based roms already and there already is a thread with stock firmwares one can use to modify.
Not that I think your initiative is a bad idea, but in my opinion a little overkill
A better initiative is to create rom-files we can flash using CWM.

It should be possible to flash it as update.zip with stock samsung recovery.
It's also possible to do it that way on LG P500.
Will see if I can test it on my wifes phone, will have to flash stock rom first

Good idea! I'm not that lazy to skip some minor work, but I have problem with XWJPF deodexing process. Using kitchen, it freezes when removing some files, so I have to reflash.
So if you can upload a ready-to-flash deodexed stock XWJPF I would really appreciate it!
And, I believe, many other users.

i just joint this site and have been searching for roms which i can root to. my phone is currently running 2.3.6 DDKT1. if anyone would just give the link of a ROM which will work on my phone i would be thankful.
all ROMs are gonna run fine. Some good, the others better.
just go to the development section and find a ROM that suits you. Follow the Instructions and you'll be fine.
Try using a program such as ROM Manager, and you'll be screwed.
i see that ur currently using RazaDroid v1.0 at 801MHz. how do i also get it? im new to this so how do i root my device to ur ROM? and is 801MHz stable??

Alot of people have been asking me how i ported Slim ICS, soooo...i made a tutorial on how i port AOSP ICS roms...this is a general tutorial that should be just enough to get the port to boot. your port will not be flawless and it will probably have some major bugs that need fixing which are usually fixed by libs.
This should work with all AOSP ICS roms except those formated in a MTD file system (MTD is not supported by the infuse)...but for best compatibilty use a similar phone like the galaxy s...also before porting if you plan on uploading it you must get permission first!!! Dont make the same mistake i made with slim...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loFHhYf0ca4
Guide:
***DISCLAIMER***
i am not responsible to any damdge caused to your phone by following this tutorial, you are doing this at your own risk. Before beginning you can not be afraid to mess with system file, to experiment, to get boot loops or even completely destroy your phone-for the infuse this is highly unlikely
if you fear bootloops or bricking a phone than you should not follow this tutorial
this guide should work for all phones and all AOSP roms, however every rom is different so some may require extra steps which you will be on your own for...this should be enough to get you to boot up though.
***END OF DISCLAIMER***
if you have any questions please feel free to comment bellow, dont message me on youtube i probably wont answer...if you do comment i may or may not help you, but maybe somebody else will. i have a busy life, and am constantly busy with the infuse and can not spend the time to address everyones issues...but by commenting maybe some one will help.
TOOLS/PROGRAMS NEEDED:
1) 7zip or other archive program
2) text editor, for windows i would use notepad++
STEPS:
1) download CM9 for your device or other AOSP based ics rom ***This is your base rom, you will use this to replace files in the rom you want to port***
What ever firmware your base is is the firmware you will be able to port...EX: 4.0.4 base=4.0.4 port
***for this tut i will be using CM9 4.0.4 for the infuse found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601844 ***
2) download rom you want ported ***it can be from any phone, but for best compatibilty/least amount of bugs use a rom from a similar device, since i have an infuse i will use a Galaxy S ICS rom"
3) open up the CM9 or whatever base rom you are using with 7zip (dont extract it just view the archive...for 7zip right click rom, go to 7zip option and choose view archive)
4) delete the following folders in the system folder: app, framework, media, and fonts
5) open up the rom you want to port and use the app, framework, media, and fonts folder to replace the ones you just deleted in the cm9 base
6) copy libandroid_runtime.so *located in /system/lib/* from the rom you want to port into the cm9 base (you are replacing the one already in there) keep a copy of the one in CM9...if it doesnt boot up put the CM9 one back in
OPTIONAL/NOT NEEDED to make the rom run
a) go to build.prop and change the name of the rom
b) change the name of the CM9 base zip to whatever you are porting
7) place the rom on your sd card and flash...if you get bootloops do a logcat
If your rom is unresponsive/not working right you may need to replace some stuff in the /system/lib/ with stuff from the rom you are porting (just compare the rom you are porting with cm9 and whenever you see something missing in the CM9 base or dif size switch it over BUT keep a backup of the unresponsive one that booted...this part is all trial and error) i can not help you with this part...you are on your own, but feel free to comment and i may try and help or someone else may try and help
Also logcats will help in diagnosing problems...
please dont pm me for help, comment on this thread and if i have time i will try and help...or someone else will. im really busy, im a junior in highschool, so i have homework monday-friday, not to mention that my 92 year old great aunt is moving in with us as she can no longer take care of her self alone so i will be busy taken her to appointments and what not.
If i could i would help each and every one of you guys...but i just dont have the time to help everyone so if we can restrict the questions and answers to here hopefully we can limit the amount of questions asked.
Saved for Q&As...
just in case...
Thank you very much MG for your hardwork and dedication. This guide will actually help and inspire many of us to bring ICS flavours on Infuse.

Hi there are some realy good ROMS about and i wanted to try make one how would i go about that?
Your best bet is to search for a ROM kitchen. There is one being developed for the s3 in either the development or original development forum.
I could be wrong (i have made mods, not full roms) but the idea is start with a ROM image (usually a samsung one unless you want to venture into the aosp realm), run various options in the kitchen to prep the ROM (deodex, zip align, etc), add your mods (maybe a themed SystemUI.apk, a modified framework-res.apk, remove app apks, or add app apks), and use the kitchen to zip it all up in a cwm zip.
Anyone who finds fault in this explanation please correct it.

I try to make Rom in the dsixda's Android Kitchen, but in the Recovery Mode was Status 7
How to use uot kitchen with jaggy rom and can I use it with cm9
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1676817 Normally it works with CM but our CM is not completly bug free yet, so I'm not sure will it work with it.
Can i use it with jaggy rom 3.2.1
Yes, check out the jaggy's thread at the last page was a dude, that tried and it worked, keep in mind that he sayd something about dissabling boot animation, I don't know how to do that, so ask him
