Vipers 1.2.1 Question - HTC Sensation

it says in the thread
ViperS 1.2.1 (Avaliable update from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1 on OTA)
We recommend make full wipe before installing this version, if you come from 1.0 or 1.1
**Dont flash any mods, not for this version(like Rosie 4x5 for example) **
The part that concerns me is the part about flashing mods, does this mean i can't flash google now and other tweaks?

the point implies that dont flash mods unless and until it says it supports latest viperS rom
btw GNow is perfectly working fine for me ..i flashed mikexda v7 ..link here (get the one from arm v7 ..as sensation belongs to that group )

I was able to do it easily by using the Mod:

I ran the install and did not select anything except the Google Now which has services.jar modification option. It was really simple.

Which Official Sense 3 ROM is best so far!

As the title suggests, i would like people to share their thoughts and opinions on which sense 3 release built from the new OTA is the best!

most stable?
least/no bugs?
best battery life?
best for daily use?
how does it compare to voidu?
At the moment we have the following releases:
Hyperion ROM V1.0|Sense 3.0|GB 2.3.5][mod UNITY kernel |OC|FFC]
Desire S Official Sense 3.0 - [GRJ90] [2.3.5] OTA 2.10.401.4
Pre-Rooted Saga S HTC Europe 2.10.401.4 odexed/deodexed (GB 2.3.5/Sense 3.0)
Have fun!
EDIT:Sorry, Ignore the Pyramid3D entry in the poll. My mistake!!
VoidU!
I'm afraid that I'm biased and vote for VoidU! Why isn't that included? (I know I know "official") but, it's still sense 3.0 and certainly the slickest, most configurable, bug free ROM that I've come across and certainly remaining my daily driver, until I'm convinced otherwise! (you have to hand it to the RC Mix3d team - with VoidU they have a finished product whereas most of the above ROMS are in the first days, so can only improve - so the future is bright!).
So I'm very keen to watch the results of this poll and also glad to see a sudden influx of recent Sense v3.0 ROM competition.
I even heard a rumour than a new LBC ROM Sense v3.0 ROM may be making an appearance in the future (please don't ask him for ETA's though!).
Hi ben, thanks for your input!
Voidu isn't based on the official release as u say but i will include it in the poll as per your request... the only problem is i can't find a way to edit my poll now?

yer..I know through my own personally frustrating head scratching experience that adding a poll to a first post isn't possible once you've created it (we'll unless you're a moderator) so it might be the same for amending an existing one! Never mind!

Completely untouched Official Sense 3 Android 2.3.5

Hi i want to go to this rom. i am currently running lbc 0.6.0 with unity v4 kernal. can i just flash this rom as usual or do i need to do some other stuff first. I've already bricked one ds and had htc replace it as they couldn't fix it so a bit nervous about what i can and can't do. Any help would be appreciated.
VoidU is based on a DHD Leak, so it's pretty official. It's the best IMO.
Remove Pyramid3D, as it's not official. It's based on Sensation.
Tried quite a few different ones but I always come back to VR - Virtuous Unity v2.39.0 just works.
Would love to patch in Beats Audio!

AOSP(v41) Theme Broken in ARHD 6.7?

Hi All,
I flashed latest 3.33 firmware last night, rebooted into recovery to wipe/install arhd 6.7. All normal. Install went great. Set up rom, market reinstalled apps. Perfect.
Next I go to install the aosp theme v.41 by shnizlon. I was using this theme perfectly on 6.6.5 for the longest time and it's always been great. The main thing I want is the aosp contacts/dialer and the status bar. So I do not check the "remove all other sense apps and widgets" option on the last page, so I can keep clock/weather, etc. Well, the theme installs fine, but when I boot back into rom, all is well, but apps such as clock and weather fc. I had never experienced this before. I tried to wipe cache, clear app data, but nothing works.
Has anyone gotten this beautiful theme working properly on this beautiful rom? Thanks!
It MIGHT be a firmware issue, as 6.7.0 is based on 3.33, but the mod might not have been updated to match yet. That's the only problem I think it could be.
Sent from my sleek sexy Sensation with ViperS
Many of mods and theme witch work with ARHD 6.6.7 didnt work with 6.7. I didnt know why. Maybe firmware different?
Thanks for the replies. I hope some more people will post about this issue in hopes that we can get this mod updated! Anyone else experiencing the issues though?
I used Advanced Menu in ARHD 6.6.7, it works pefect but when I update to ARHD 6.7 my liked mods didnt work.
Do not know why.

1. Its not a firmware thing, i mean seriously how can firmware which is completely different to a rom, make things not work. for example, if you downgrade to 3.32 firmware then the mods still wont work.
2. Its a rom thing because the rom is based on the 3.33.401.6 htc build. This build contains numerous code changes that make mods made for previous versions not work properly anymore.
3. To get it working all mods need to be ported to the new 3.33 base build
I pm'd shnizlon about this and he said he'd get on a fix. I'm sure he could use a little confirmation/encouragement from you fine folks as well!

[MOD] Auto Brightness Patch - add battery life to HTC ONE

Auto Brightness Patch for improved battery life
HTC has coded fairly generous Auto Brightness values into their framework, which is just great for many users. Nevertheless there are those, who always try to get more precious battery juice to improve screen on time. Looking in battery stats we all know, that screen is consuming by far the most battery. I analyzed the framework code and decreased the LCD values depending on the level between 15% and 20%. The new values are still fairly bright, but will have a decent impact on your battery life. Since the display consumes about 2/3 of battery especially during browsing sessions or gaming, this mod can add up to 10% of battery life to your device, depending on your usage pattern (especially while browsing). I also added a "back to stock" zip, which helps you to return to previous state without any issues. A Nandroid is nevertheless strongly recommended before you flash this mod. Please be aware, that this can only save battery, if you activate Auto Brightness.
Note: PLEASE don`t ask for screenshots
What do you need?
Unlocked and rooted device
Tested on Stock ROM - this mod should also work on deodexed Custom ROM´s based on 1.27 (most probably also on 1.28)
How to flash:
Download the update.zip and copy on your SD
Boot in recovery and flash
1.28 coming soon...
Credits for APM: Dunc
DEODEXED 1.28 ROM
Download Autobrightness Mod incl APM
Download back to stock 1.28 framework

Download back to stock 1.27 framework

Note: If you flash this on 1.28 or later, please pull framework-res from your current ROM and drag in framework folder of this zip, which will then be your back to stock. Alternatively make a nandroid beofre you flash.

I already have the ONE, I will be part of Viper team one way or the other, but not sure yet who will be the lead devs. Anyway - Viper Sense 5 is still months away. So stay tuned and you`ll soon see another ROM popping up here in the dev section
Will there only be a Auto Brightness Patch with APM included for 1.28 ROMs or will there still be a standalone Auto Brightness Patch?
Nice work though mate! The 1.27 version is just running fine on 1.28 for now.

Is there a way to tell if this is working?
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
After a few days of use I could tell this works great! On stock, in doors especially, I would notice that the screen was way too bright. Much better with this mod. Thanks!
Am in vacation till next week, but might add support also for stock.
Regarding question whether it helps:
There are many Vodoo tactics to save battery out there, but this one really works.
Reason is very simple:
Most users like Autobrightness
Display eats by far the most battery (just look in settings...)
Reducing the brightness level has a real impact on battery life, just compared to reducing brightness on your laptop.
So I simply reduce the levels on all sensor steps (except the highest, which ticks in when you are in bright sunlight).

It does not crash because your Rom is Deodexed, it crashes because it was based on a non APM framework. After my vacation I might add AB incl APM, but you find all this already in my Tweaks package for TrickDroid. So if you want many mods, I recommend having a look there.

Don't do it! It will re-flash the HBOOT, etc. You can get the official ICS through
http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
Desire S, version 4.0
Desire S HTC WWE RUU N/A v4.0 404.0 MB 14.01.401.2
Run the RUU up to just before the actual install step, then find the zip package in your temporary files, copy it elsewhere and exit the RUU installer. You can then modify this to have the hboot you want, to protect your S-OFF (either the ENG version 2, or the version starting 7), then put it on the root of your SD card as PG88IMG.zip and reboot to fastboot.
This will still wipe all the data on your phone.
I would strongly suggest you just flash an ICS or JB ROM from xda instead though.

First of all you should check if you have Sony or Hitachi panels - check this thread for instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943524 If you have Sony panel, then you're ready to go without additional preparations.
You can try blindanddumb's or flinny's CM 10.1-based roms. They still have some minor issues (especially if one has Hitachi screen panel) like problems with led notifications lights, but as a whole they're smooth and stable. Maybe one of the more experienced custom rom users will say something more about those two, or will propose others. Myself, I'm a happy user of bnd CM 10.1

This is a stock ROM but because it's not running on the firmware update that it came bundled with in the OTA update there's some kind of mismatch happening, thus causing these signal drops and random reboots. If you plan on trying the latest Telstra radio I'd suggest taking the firmware update route, I flashed the radio while still on the 2.14 hboot and it performed terribly. I think it works like this:
If you're on hboot 2.15, previous radios work terribly but latest works well.
If you're on <2.15 previous radios work well but latest radio works terribly.
I've only tested while on the lower hboot (<2.15) so far though.

T-Mobile 5.08 isn't a port and neither is this Telstra ROM.
Both are stock ROMs.
Differences will be carrier apps, carrier settings like APN, default qwerty keyboard, language, build.prop settings like fingerprint and such.

I wanted to try to download your rom to rebase mine but the download speeds were unexceptable. It was never going to finish at that rate. Had to cancel it.

Great work. I've been waiting for stock Telstra Rom to drop. Just flashed this morning and running beastmode. Have xposed with sense toolbox. Running great so far. Thanks.
Can some one running this ROM check if you can move app to internal storage in the app info screen.

I believe that feature has been removed on these latest updates, you can do it via Titanium though.

Hi I am running with xposed framework and xprivacy on the Optus network in aus. I am getting numerous reboots and the mobile network drops out, seemingly, when the phone sleeps. I am also getting calls dropping out. This came from a clean flash. Is anyone else having similar issues? Is there some edits that need to be made to build.prop for Optus?
Thx
