[Q] Syncing Music - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I hate Apple products with a passion because I hate Apple as a company. But back in the day, my girlfriend at the time bought me a ipod touch. I've obviously since sold that.. But I do miss being able to just plug in my phone and have my library sync from iTunes. Are there any apps for syncing music like that? I'm always downloading music on both my laptop and my phone so it'd be nice to not have to do it myself lol.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe cloud storage providers do this. Providers such as drop box (2 gigabytes free storage) and CX (10 gigabytes free storage) will sync files to and from a home based PC AND via their android apps, to and from your phone. If you set up your account on your home based PC and sync your home files then download the app, log in and sync from your phone.....I think that should do it....

The one downside to the method I've suggested is that sync speeds (upload and download speeds) are far from ideal......very sssslllloooowwww.....lol

KIES will do this and so will Doubletwist and if you purchase the AirSync option it will automatically sync when your device is connected to your home network.

DoubleTwist

So I bout airsync today cause its on the ten cent deal from the android market and I was wondering what is the best way of syncing? I already have all my music on my phone, would it be best to move that to my laptop and resyncing? Also when I make playlists, it includes videos, anyway around that irritant?

The only way I can think of is by using the DoubleTwist player Air sync application. It allows you to stream and sync wirelessly. Hope I help...

Thank you I'll have to check this out and see if it works for me
If you connect it as a media player, the xbox will detect it...but you have to manually pick the song you want to play and when its over it will just keep repeating that song till you manually pick a new one...i know its pretty lame

That's strange.. You can't just plug it into your xbox, then find the music file and press play all?
It works on mine with just plugged in as mass storage. No app needed.
Yeah for some reason my box won't pick up my phone when its in mass storage mode. Kinda sucks :/

A Real Sync Center

Hi Guys,
Ive been thinking why is it that Android dosent have a propper sync center ?
Like IOS has Itunes
and WP7 has Zune
And i forget what does Android have ?
I know what HTC have there pithy sync thing n then Samsung has Kies, and theres no generic sync center for Android...
What do you guys think ?
Android is built so you don't have to rely on computers. However you can use double twist. I sync using ftp.

Yeh, But sometimes i prefer a Windows/OSX GUI to Sync vir than manually mounting SD Card,
Id like something like Double Twist but thats generic to android
With FTP there is no mounting requirements.

Well the play store has many songs and they sync using Google Music app which is what i use. They offer 20000 free storage

Clear fi and hoxl

So I was at someone's house and we was browsing pics on hoxl and I discovered in choose player settings in gallery an option to connect to clear.fi . Be inquisitive I connected and soon discovered I was streaming my pics to a pc in the house over WiFi. Kinda cool. I'm gonna study up on it as it is basically a streaming program on the pc. My question is has anyone used this , thoughts on it, and I'm curious how my phone detected clear fi and is this a security issue. Almost seems like a remote desktop media program. I'm just trying to protect my media on my device from being streamed unintendedly....I'm running latest viperxl which I love.

Music Player. The Wolfson DAC is top notch
I unlocked mine and keep it as a backup for family members. I also use it to play with roms and as a music player.

Same here i use my old cappy to test all the things before flash my daily drivers...
...the tiny italic text...
Yup, got my Nexus 5 and took absolutely everything off my cappy. It now runs cyanogen 10.1, only play music, calculator, calendar and phone (only because deleting it causes fc's) are left on it. Works fine, and leaving it on airplane let's it last a few days of listening.
If anyone ever needs a phone it's there for them, just gotta defrost and pop in their Sim card.
