Music Player. The Wolfson DAC is top notch

I unlocked mine and keep it as a backup for family members. I also use it to play with roms and as a music player.

Same here i use my old cappy to test all the things before flash my daily drivers...
...the tiny italic text...

Yup, got my Nexus 5 and took absolutely everything off my cappy. It now runs cyanogen 10.1, only play music, calculator, calendar and phone (only because deleting it causes fc's) are left on it. Works fine, and leaving it on airplane let's it last a few days of listening.
If anyone ever needs a phone it's there for them, just gotta defrost and pop in their Sim card.

Did your Xoom come with music?

I have seen a video or two on youtube with people unboxing the device and going through it with everything at factory default. When they launched the music app it had music that was already on the device.
My device did not have any music at all on the device. I am not complaining about it. I would have deleted it all right away anyways. I am just curious if it does ship/supposed to ship with some tunes already on the device or not.
Mine did, a bunch of artists I don't listen to but it was still nice to see the 3d effect in the music app with all the music already there. Also is there a video player that shipped with anyone's? kinda like the music app but for videos? Cuz mine definitely did not.
Yep, mine came with lots of single tracks to show the 3D view which is nice. I will be deleting and adding my own music.

Yup, Wonderwall FTW!
Yes it did but I lost it with the following command:
fastboot oem unlock
all gone.
Oh and I was thinking maybe it has something to do with the Verizon version but could be wrong..
mine also had music, wifi version from staples... did a factory restore and lost them... oops

[Q] Google Music

I applied for an invitation weeks ago but never got one. Any one had any luck with this? Just wondering what the success rate is.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
boo
I got my invite a few days ago and uploaded all my music. The app is VERY buggy (still in beta). I had to resign into the app with my google account almost every time it loaded. I also noticed it would randomly connect to the network and sync 100MB of stuff at a time. I used up about 600MB in 3 days! That's a lot when you only have 2GB for the whole month.
And yes, I had the setting in the app to download only when connected to wifi checked on.
i got mine. i applied hours after its announcement. took quite a while for it to come in. im not sure its worth it though. syncing isnt smooth, it takes minutes to upload and download one song, you cant upload straight to the website like amazons cloud player. it has some potential and it fits in nicely with googles services, but dont worry, youre not missing much right now.
I got invited a day after I applied, which was about a week after it was announced.
Been using and loving it since. Enough that I might pay for it, which I initially scoffed at.

I think I signed up around the time you did. I JUST got the email yesterday. Haven't tried it out though.

I applied the day it was announced and got it not too long afterwards.
I like it a lot, but my biggest complaint is that when I play an entire album (which I almost always do) from the album screen. The issue is it plays the first song, and then play bar fills, and instead of advancing to the next song, it restarts the first song, the timer keeps counting and it doesn't advance. After I manually advance the first song, everything else plays normally.
Other than that, my upload was slow, but its all up there now and streaming fine to my PC and my phone when it wants to.
Finally got it

CM7 is GREAT... but...

OK,
Thanks to Longcat14, I was able to get the instructions I needed to get CM7 alpha 4 installed with the dag0.43-v3 kernel. It went very smoothly once I knew the process required to make it all work.
Last night I went to call a friend directly from the contacts list and it said --
Dialing --- Connected and the clock started to run on the screen. I had NO audio at all.. Completely dead - clock still ticking.. Asked friend to call back and same thing dead audio. Rebooted the phone and all was working again.. Anybody else experience anything like that?
Oh yeah, THANKS AGAIN LONGCAT14!! And MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!
Yeah its the call audio bug. Just keep GPS on

Will CM7/9 will ever come officially to the Skyrocket?
Yes it will

I liked CM7 and got it to install no issue. However, I use my camera a lot for work and the Samsung version is much nicer. I had too many blurry pictures with CM7.

Any apps as GOOD as music junk?

Music Junk is frickin amazing, it litteraly found every song...old, new, doesn't matter what kind english and spanish....too bad the last couple of months it just has been plagued by too many errors. It only runs for about a wk at a time then doesn't work no more. I've tried several others and they don't even come close. Gtunes is one of them. Whats everyone using? If possable please add a download link.
Soundhound. Its in the market. Had it with my Sense 4 on my Droid Incredible 2 and it worked decent. Found majority of my music.. the only time it didn't get it was with a couple of my indie/punk bands that never went too far in the 90s/early 2000s
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Sound hound is great and includes lyric syncing to the song you listening too as well as download links.
Cole
free or do you have to pay for the song?
Music junk lets you download songs for free so I don't think soundhound is what he is looking for. I personally use groove shark and it also allows you to save the music on your device. You get a free trial with it but I heard you can keep clearing the app data for another trial

Music Junk is the bomb but I never can get it to work/ I have been using Tunee music lately. it seems like the server gets overloaded sometimes so you have to open up a couple of times before you get in to the system.
I honestly have 3 different Mp3 downloaders downloaded. If one doesnt have what I am looking for I try a different one.
Tunee music has been the closest thing to Music Junk that I can find.
What version are you guys using? I'm using 4.3 and don't have any problems.

Haxsync and KitKat

Hey guys, has anybody tried had sync? I always used it on my nexus devices, however, the last update for it is on October 6th, way before KitKat release date. I've read through some of the reviews and some have mentioned of it preventing phone from going to deep sleep and causing wake locks. That was on a galaxy phones though, no mention of issues on nexus 5. I have just got the nexus, don't really want to install something that's not fully compatible yet.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Working fine for me.. Just got my phone a couple hours ago, so can't really say much on the wake lock part. But, the contacts sync up and its fine so far..
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Why not try it for your self? If it causes problems just uninstall it. Plan and simple. Not like it can brick your phone because an app isn't 100% compatible.
Working fine for me too.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I have sync.me on one of my old androids letting it update my contacts...good idea if you have a old phone laying around...not sure but you could use haxsync like that too.

I did when I got my nexus. My battery died faster than expected. I looked through logs, and noticed that yahoo weather was draining a lot of battery on the background, ended up uninstalling that and haxsync because I figured that it could have been both as android usage was also high. Today, everything was fine. I will try to reinstall it.
I do seem to get some contact pics synced, I'm guessing by default Facebook app still doesn't sync contacts on stock, right? Pictures might be coming from Google +?

On 4.4.2 haxsync doesnt work anymore at least for me
are there any alternatives?

MersauX,
Can you please tell me where you found it? What link? When I search for the Haxsync APK, I find a lot of sites, but I am always a bit leery at downloading them from these types of places since I worry about the files authenticity. Thanks in advance.

Thanks but it's not currently available on the play store. That's the reason I asked in the first place.
I've never had any wakelocks using haxsync, and it has never shown up in my battery stats ever.
